What a piece of crap
How did this even pass QA.
Got mine at launch, 65+ hours in Zelda, 60+ hours in dock mode, and it's a little tiny bit bent (1mm) near the center, top and bottom are perfectly lined, might be normal so I guess I'm fine for now.

I...really don't want to check mine. Cause I know if I do I'll never not see it and it will bother me until the end of time. I'd probably go insane.

I thought the same thing, but if it's a symptom of a more serious issue, I'd want to know. I'm tempted to contact Nintendo and get mine exchanged before Mario Kart drops.

Posted in the other thread for this but my Switch is also bent. I don't believe it was from being docked though, it's just the way it is I think.

I bought it from Amazon Warehouse meaning it's possible it had prior use to me owning it, though I don't really think that's the case.

Damn. That sucks. I just checked mine, you could actually convince me that it was slightly bent based on the eye test. But I did the same test from the picture above with my Ipad and it seemed fine...

I know I know it's for the good of all! But I just can't bear to see it if Nintendo goes all "It's a feature!" on it! I'm weak...

Nah. For warping of that scale? That'd be a serious issue.

They may say something like "make sure the switch has proper ventilation" but they can't say its a feature. They'd just do what they did with the joycons, "make sure you aren't doing xyz"... and then say they'll repair it fast and for free. :p

Mine too is slightly bent. However, I first noticed it a least a week ago, but assumed it was either part of the deign or "manufacturing variation." Until we see someone document a fresh, out of the box switch warping over time due to the heat, I'm going to assume the bend is most likely due to the same rushed manufacturing timeline that likely lead to the bent docks. As long as this issue doesn't brick the system, or continue to worsen to the point of making the Swirch uncomfortable to hold or make it difficult to put the system in and out of the dock, I doubt this will become an issue for most people.

But I must say, as much as I love the Switch as a concept and a thing I use almost daily, the number of hardware issues are starting to really stack up. The joycon connectivity issue (supposedly fixed now), bent docks and scratched systems, and now possibly this warping issue. Hell, my joycons are even getting a little loose and creaky. Really hope Nintendo gets this stuff sorted out before these issues start to penetrate to the casual audience and tarnish the systems reputation before it gets a real foothold in the market and more developer support.

Really, really glad I bought a replacement plan from Best Buy.

As someone that has never owned a nintendo portable since the gameboy/game gear days... is their portable hardware always this janky?

I guess that is the price you pay for a $200-$300 pricepoint? I've gotten used to the nice Apple/Samsung/etc hardware in the past 10 years.

I found it hard to believe. Again. It's like people want to find bad stuff where there isn't. We have 2 Switches in the house with about 200 hours each on Zelda + other things and we both took our Switch out of the dock to play with it as much as while on the dock: yet we have none of these nonsense scratches that seem to be made with a paperclip or a bent Switch that seem also like it's quite easy to pull off on Photoshop. Just saying. I would like to request authenticity verification of these photographs if possible.

EDIT: to even add more to this, why do anyone I know who has a Switch has none of these issues??

Their consoles have always been solid. Handhelds have been a different story and a mixed bag overall as far as panel lottery and build quality are concerned.

Nah. They're genuine.

This is simply a matter of statistics at some point. There is always variance in large scale manufacturing.

You're right, Junior. Personally speaking, I posted a lie to fan the flames. The rest of the photos are 'shopped. You cracked the case.

Its the same thread, why post it again?

Not quite, look again. I will say I'm surprised it's been upvoted on that subreddit, though. I've been a subscriber since the start and that is fanboy haven. No negativity about the Switch or the regulars will gut you.

No, I mean its the same thread source and its literally a x-post. Its just more discussion on it, no different from it being one of the discussions within the original thread.

And why wouldn't it be upvoted? If its a problem, people will talk about it. The thread even highlights the very point some have mentioned: was it bent from the get-go?

You effin' for real dawg?

Anyway just by looking at mine it seems mine is bent as well on the bottom left side. Bummed and kinda pissed at Nintendo.

This is silly.

It's likely that a small percentage of people are having issues. That's why nobody you know has them. Complaints are the most vocal communication, and that's why you see a lot of it here. These are real issues and they are affecting at least a decent amount of people.

The bend issue is absolutely real and probably is affecting a lot of people. I just looked at mine and it's slightly bent, too. Not much but it's there and it's noticeable. Now, whether it was always there or not I'm not sure. Whether it was caused by the dock or not, I don't know.

No scratches from the dock and no curve to mine when checking with a straightedge. Left joycon has that wobble in handheld but I can deal with that. And for anyone that cares well over 200 hours on it total with my entire family, mostly docked.

Maybe I am just lucky. I really want to see if this somehow gets worse for the people where there's a noticeable bend.

Exact same for me. No scratches, no bend and slight wobble on left joycon but I can live with it.

I too have played 100+ hours docked, sometimes for 12+ hour play sessions and I have traveled with it and threw it in my backpack (in a case).

...hate me...
I received my Pro Controller from Amazon on Friday and I am completely disappointed by my purchase so far. I have read the reviews and impressions on this device which prompted me to make this purchase when next available. My experience with this Mad Catz quality bargain bin controller have been less than stellar, the buttons feel strange and the triggers feel even worse. The quality of this controller makes me think of the construction of the Fisher Price feeling Wii U controllers (which is a personal opinion). The pro controller is leagues better than the included Joy-con Controller but well inferior to the offerings by MS and Sony which are a fraction of the price. I hope this controller will grow on me but my initial impressions are not great...
Wut?

Best controller I've ever owned bar none, DS4 included. Everything about it is class.

So is the Google Pixel's USB-C charger the best non-official wall charger to get?

It is pretty good. Hard to say if it is the best because there are a lot of unknowns. It does not power the dock, but no non-official plugs have been able to so far. It tops off at 12w, while the official pulls 18w. There is no real reason it shouldn't be able to go up to 18w so it is unclear if Nintendo is preventing it for safety reasons or something else. But also no other non-official plug is going over 12w to my knowledge.

In short: it is a good plug, go for it. Best? Who knows.

Anyone here get a copy of Binding Of Isaac without the manual and stickers? Trying to figure out if the second printing has the day one update pre-loaded onto the cartridge.

I keep hearing reports of people having those switches look slightly curved out of the box, so I don't fuckin' know. So either a lot of people are somehow heat warping their Switches and no one noticed for a month or the Switch is sort of like that by default to account for possible warping. Who has a fresh one?

got a brand new one in box... it's slightly curved

That calms my fears a bit, mines slightly curved after a month and I didn't bother to inspect the mine until 2 weeks ago. I hope it's a manufacturing issue and not a heat issue.

Also did my first screen cleaning with a microfiber cloth and no scratches for docking and undocking.

I have a fresh Grey set bought a week ago and it's straight. No bending or bulging at all.

I can post pics if you want.
