A) So is this rap going to be in the game? Is this covered under parody laws to not conflict with the DK rap?

B) Review embargo lifts the 4th correct? 8am EST?

What. Is it over or something? All I see on the stream is "HALO WARS COMIN SOOn 2 U"

Edit: So it is. ;_; I can't believe no one clipped the rap

One review leaked and has been deleted, but Google Cache exists

BrashGames 8/10

"Its commitment to nostalgia is both Yooka-Laylee’s greatest strength and its greatest weakness. The characters are largely annoying and the writing and delivery is almost universally bad, but man, that gameplay is still very special indeed. Having been largely starved of traditional 3D platformers for the past 15 years, this serves as a perfectly timed reminder of why the genre was so popular in the first place. With its fantastic mechanics married to a selection of sprawling words chock full of challenges and a fantastically addictive sense of progression, Yooka-Laylee overcomes its occasional rough edges and lack of polish to deliver the finest 3D platformer this side of Super Mario Galaxy."

Makes me wish they used Unreal Engine 4 instead, but maybe we'd have super buff and gritty Yooka Laylee and Shovel Knight.

UE4 would have foreclosed the possibility of WiiU. Yes, in hindsight, UE4 would have been better, but they probably could not have known that at the time.

I mean...if people can enjoy Zelda with those cutscenes, I think they'll be able to handle whatever cringe they throw at us in-between platforming.

Did anyone else back this via Backerkit? Last update was in February and that was about the Wii U version. Hope it's still on track.

Where have you been? The Wii U version has been cancelled and they offered backers either to refund, changing their choice of platform or upgrading their Wii U choice to the Switch but would have to wait later for it to be release.

You might be late to change your platform choices which in that case you would automatically get the PC version.

The WiiU version? It was cancelled I'm afraid.

I thought it was cancelled in favor of the Switch?

I think he's saying that the last update that he received from Backerkit was about the WiiU version (Likely the cancellation notice? I don't remember when that was) not that he is looking for info about the WiiU version.

Did Banjo Kazooie have bad writing? I played through it recently and didn't really perceive that.

Depends how you look at it I suppose, but I never found to writing to be bad at all either. I'm not sure what people are expecting writing wise from a talking trouser snake.

Yep. Sorry, I said it very stupidly it seems. Nevermind.

Any news on when backers are likely to get their codes? I've got a PS4 version headed my way, it'd be nice to be able to register the code and get to play the Toybox ahead of release.

You should have got an email containing all the details.

Physical copies have been shipped and could arrive any day now.

X1 and PC backers will get digital codes this week.

PS4 backers will get it on april 10 simultaneously with Australia and New Zealand.
