This was an article about British intelligence's role in the Trump/Russia collusion story (there is another thread on it), but it ends with this bombshell, which I think deserves its own thread:

There are now multiple investigations going on in Washington into Trump campaign officials and Russia. They include the FBI-led counter-espionage investigation and probes by both the House and Senate intelligence committees.

...

One source suggested the official investigation was making progress. “They now have specific concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion,” the source said. “This is between people in the Trump campaign and agents of [Russian] influence relating to the use of hacked material.”

Question is when they gonna drop the info or bring charges on the inner circle.

I think they must still be nailing down evidence of trump himself being aware, or we would have already seen movement.

It seems reasonable that they want ironclad cases against all parties involved, and will not act until they do....

...but at the same time, Trump is practically starting wars on a daily basis. If they have good reason to believe there is truth to this story, I think it needs to be publicly voiced so impeachment proceedings can begin. It seems crazy to let a Russian puppet continue to make decisions with huge consequences for the world, daily, just for the sake of making a tighter criminal case.

The Guardian has been told the FBI and the CIA were slow to appreciate the extensive nature of contacts between Trump’s team and Moscow ahead of the US election. This was in part due to US law that prohibits US agencies from examining the private communications of American citizens without warrants. “They are trained not to do this,” the source stressed.

“It looks like the [US] agencies were asleep,” the source added. “They [the European agencies] were saying: ‘There are contacts going on between people close to Mr Trump and people we believe are Russian intelligence agents. You should be wary of this.’

I'd guess that they start with whomever they have solid evidence on, then threaten prosecution to get them to flip on higher campaign officials until they get to the top. But I bet they'd also ideally like to have concrete evidence from the top down, if possible.

I know they can't immediately arrest Trump/impeach him, but SURELY they can bring down the hammer right now on Manafort, Page, and Flynn (hell probably Roger Stone too)

It feels like the developments on this front have been slowing down lately, but that's probably just because so much other stuff has been going on.

It takes time. Watergate took a year or two, and this is moving WAY faster.

To say nothing of the fact that we've never had a President who may have very well committed treason. It's entirely new territory and the IC are probably working on strategies as we speak to facilitate and manage the fallout.

Roger Stone is going to be the fall guy. He did not have any official position in Trump's campaign so he can say he acted on his own.

Hope this is directly tied to Trump. If its concrete evidence of someone else other than him then they can just argue Trump wasnt aware and had no part in it.

I just can't see some of these people falling on the sword for Trump, ESPECIALLY because if you get convicted of treason, it's a death sentence.

I'm pretty sure he was on the campaign payroll as an advisor, given the controversy around him leaving the campaign.

How did he leave the campaign if he wasn't a part of it?

I don't see the IC forgiving him for calling them nazis, much less working with a foreign adversary to undermine the election.

He declared war on the IC and it isn't going to end well for him.

It's pretty much just waiting for the first domino to fall now. Every day, things that we've suspected are getting confirmed. It's all been discussed ad nauseam, There's not much more to say until someone--the FBI or the Senate Intelligence Committee--shows some cards.

I have to wonder, if the walls start closing in, if Trump will start behaving not because he has to, but rather, he feels like it will help him.

At the rate things are going, we might all be dead from nuclear winter before the FBI actually acts on this anyway, so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hyperbole aside, I'm starting to get a really bad, sinking feeling about this. Trump really, really strikes me as the kind of petty coward who would start a civil war if the FBI ever came for him, regardless of the kind of evidence they had.
