Preordered Puyo Puyo even though I haven't won a single game. My screen just keeps getting a ton of garbage blocks. Hopefully I don't suck at it so much after a couple of hours. :p

On topic: I've been playing BotW in docked mode with the Joy-Cons in separate hands and it's so damn comfortable. I can lazily lay however I want and still play. I am LOVING this

Hey guys when playing BOTW are you guys exploring every inch of the map or only collecting what you need and doing main missions? The game is sooo good that I feel like I need to see every part of it. So much so that I use a star to pin where I've been and use one of the glowing pins to go to where I want next. This way I don't back track to where I've already been. Keen to know how others are playing and if there are any good tips.

Btw in case some people don't know. If you find the jump button in an awkward position you can reverse it in settings so it's the bottom circle button closer to the thumb. I find this better.

My switch no longer recognizes my BOTW game card. I woke the system from sleep, the system said that I had removed BOTW while it was asleep (I had not) and asked me if I wanted to update the game. Now it says "Insert the game card" even though the card is inside. I tried removing and reinserting the card and restarting the system but no dice.

I don't have another game card so I can't be sure if it's the system or the card.

Is this a common thing? Anything I can try? They don't sell Switches in my country so I'm not sure how hard it's going to be to get Nintendo customer service here. I'm kind of stunned to have a Nintendo product fail after ~20 hours use.

I just received my Hori slim hard pouch for the Switch. I wanted to see if I could find the slimmest hard case available for the Switch. I think this is it! It's a hell of a lot more portable than my Zelda case.

There's no room for any games of accessories though, so it's not for everyone. I'm planning to go mostly digital so that's no drama to me. The case even protects the joysticks from moving as well as makes proper room for the joycons and shoulder buttons.

Hi I have few questions

Finally made an us and Japanese account

I had only Zelda , fast and snake pass
I just bought snipperclip and wonderboy
I downloaded Tetris puyo demo as well and as such I put 30$ in my us balance account waiting for the game (40e in EU eshop ...)


My questions :
-i have now 6 games. Icon tiles are too big and I need to swap right to see other games. Can't I make them smaller ? Ala wiiu ?
-is there any way to disable Japanese account notification ? It's obviously written in Japanese and not useful (the notification icon shows me my 3 account notification now )

I've beaten the game (although I'm still playing, finishing stuff up), but I did a semi-thorough exploration of each area before moving on. I tried to cover most of each one, but I didn't go out of my way to finecomb every inch. That would have taken ages (and I was at 115h when I finally beat the game anyway). I didn't mark where I've been as such, but you can at least roughly tell that anyway by the icons for shrines, seeds, etc.

Yeh I'm not in any rush really. I find just exploring is very therapeutic lol

I am getting all the towers, then exploring whatever I lay my eyes on that looks of interest, before really hitting the MQ. I only get an hour or so a day to play (7 month old twins...) so I imagine even at that pace I won't finish it until years end, when handily I can get Mario and Skyrim!

Half of these games are NeoGeo games
The others are ports of old games or a few new ones that aren't the best of indies
Isaac is not available in Europe yet

Snipperclips (MP only) and Shovel Knight (if you like 2D action/adventure) are must have too, but yeah it's a pretty poor library overrall, with artifically delayed games in the next months in order to keep media attention and sales on the Switch (but it doesn't need it anymore...)

-If I want it on cartridge I need to pay it in $, with import fees and taxes, on a foreign websites (if my credit cards works here)
-If I want it on digital I need to create multiple users, accounts etc. and find a way to have credit since my EU credit card won't work on the eShop
-For the random user (or young user), this is too complicated

And it's still an old game at the price of a new one (still priced at 35e on steam though)

For me it certainly was! I'd say it goes down to personal taste. Shovel Knight is a game I can easily replay every few months and still enjoy it. Specter of Torment is honestly worth the asking price along IMO, but between beating both campaigns once I logged about 10 hours of play.

Anyone else had a stuck release button on one of the joycons ?

I had a new Switch five days ago and I realised 5 minutes ago that the back release button of right joycon is stuck, leaning a bit towards the left... I don't understand since I removed them three times maximum and the Switch is protected by an hard case when I don't use it.

Did this happen to anyone ? Is there an easy fix ?

Fuck Nintendo, my first Switch got a blue mark with no reason, now that...Hopefully I have another pair of joycons but that's weeks to get it repaired. Product quality is really mediocre.

My kids (8 and 12) have been wanting one since before it dropped. I've been pointing out to them that a) it's hard to find one b) has few games and c) we don't really need a new system. I tell them, maybe later in the year. Maybe.

So while we're on vacation I have one shipped to work, and on our way home (from a successful, fun and tiring road trip) I drive by the office and pick it up and tell them it's "computer equipment." I pull it out of the box when we get home and they completely lose their minds with excitement.

Sometimes being a Dad is so awesome.

I kid, I know you only bought it for yourself under the pretence of getting it for your kids, no way the wife is going to see through that one.

Seriously though, getting a new console/computer from your parents as a kid is one of those memories that'll stick.

So with MK8D coming out next week I was looking into getting some more Joy-Cons for some local MP parties, but these things are still completely sold out! Hopefully we get a large shipment of them by the 28th (especially the blue/blue ones, please Nintendo!)

so have there been any games like shovel knight where in another region it was priced lower to get than in other regions or was that the one lucky fluke as of late?
I have no idea if i should be asking that here. Planning on getting MK8D next week and maybe puyo puyo.

The difference with MK8D will depend on if you had the two DLC packs and if you enjoy battle mode from the past games. Here is a list of added features in MK8D:

Would be interested in hearing back on your findings. I was hoping the Joy-Con fixes would have filtered down into some of the retail units, by now.

It requires some light force, but i'm worried about it now.

Defiantly an issue with the cons, since its happening with the gamepad holder aswell.

Ohhh, that would explain why joy-cons are so crazy unavailable. Can't find any non-grays in stores or even online via Amazon or Best Buy. Ordered a pair yesterday at target.com, but they'll take a week to get here. If Nintendo recalled product from stores and re-shipped better ones, it would explain the weird dearth of accessories. I hope along with you that the new joy-cons work perfectly.

The ones I got with the system were pristine. Shame I applied them to concrete so early in the system's life. >_>

my brother has this issue with his right joycon, but he says it may be because his friend tried to put on the wrist strap thing on the wrong way.

Also, Graceful Explosion Machine is fantastic! Such a perfect game for the Switch portable mode
