Wasn't there talk of youtube wanting to demonetize prank and drama videos? What ever happened to that? Its not only gross that these child abusers are making money off of their videos, but its also gross that keemstar and others are profiting off this drama.

Junior, please.
Just watched the video about the ink. The mother is screaming like a lunatic and the kids are scared out of their mind. I have a pretty broad sense of humor but I don't see the humor in this in any way shape of form.

Right, because it's not actually funny. These people are deranged, especially the father. He shouldn't be allowed to care for children.

Poor Cody goes hyper-alert everytime parents look at him. Seen that stuff often enough on the beat, don't even need to see the acual abuse - that's the tell-tale right there. It never ends well.

Hope the local authorities get their act together.

Yep. That's a learned response. I don't want to imagine the stuff that goes on when the cameras are off.

Yeah. The constant need to make sure his back is as close to the wall as possible is a horrible sign.

Considering the parents getting angy and pissed for the "prank". Imagine how they act when they are actually angry at the poor kids.

the kids (especially the Cody and the girl) need to be out of that house as soon as possible, before they get any older. Adolescence can be difficult enough without coming home to an abusive family.

Give them a chance to experience a normal childhood before it's too late

Exactly... Even putting your kids being ridiculed like that on Youtube is bad enough as it is, I can't imagine what it's like to actually live through this every day.

I saw one video where they say they prank Cody because he has the best "reactions".

Pretty sick people. I'm not really sure what should be done. Clearly abusive and not a great environment.

Ayeeee. Seems like it's crossing the line between a joke and a joke that is overboard. I mean the old "Dad destroys my brothers Xbox 360" and that whole youtube channel was clearly a joke. This is off-putting though.

Did anyone buy the parents' back peddling where they claim it's all fake and scripted and Philip DeFranco is harming their children?

The parents are such sacks of shit, masking child abuse as "pranks" it's crazy that these guys are openly abusing these kids and it's been able to fly. I mean most of the videos I watched aren't even pranks it's just the father screaming and threatening his kids and this video above is just one of many that shows this. Like I'd hate to think what happens when the camera is off.

It isn't at all. It is one think to prank your kids, it's something entirely different to "prank" your kids by screaming and swearing at them to the point where they are out of their minds. These are two truly awful parents.

This is so gross. As someone who works with children, it breaks my heart. If I knew a child was subject to this kind of abuse, I'm legally obligated to report it and you can bet your ass I'd report these parents so fast.

Poor kids.

Cody's reaction is to stay calm, because he has clearly been through this before. The other kids don't even flinch.

The way he adjusts the papers on the shelf after getting thrown into it takes it to another level of sadness for me.

That bit is particularly fucked up because he can't even get away from it at school. Kids can be cruel to each other at the best of times at school, but imagine if everyone at your school knew your own parents posted videos on Youtube of them "pranking" you, making you cry and treating you like shit. The parents are both pieces of shit.
And if the kids at the school know, the teachers should too and they still do nothing :(

Hell no. It's amazing the back peddling only came after this got big attention and they deleted their videos.

After watching the first DeFranco video and seeing the clips from the alleged "prank", I had to stop watching. That's how brutal the abuse is. If a ward of the state were to see that behavior from a parent and didn't take the child away, I would have to question their commitment to their job.

Breaks my heart.

I also know the mindset of someone who would abuse their children for money is one who blames everyone but themselves when things go bad. Going forward they will talk about how the internet is destroying their family and their children. They will talk about how people are sending stuff too their kids that is hurtful. They will talk about how the attacks are the real abuse and that they are the victims. The thing is...

As a responsible parent you need to protect your children. This blew up in their face, so at this point they need to immediately..

Shelter their kids from online attacks. Don't allow them to go onto forums, and twitter.

Don't tell the kids how horrible it is. Don't tell them all the bad things that are happening to you. You have abused your kids, and now if you tell them how you are going to "lose the house" or "go broke" because people think you are abusing the kids, these kids ARE GOING TO THINK IT IS THEIR FAULT! Keep the attacks to yourselves.

These kids are not old enough to make the choice to be put in an abusive situation. No matter how many videos you post of some 10 year old saying they are not being abused, the proof is there. There is a reason kids can not drink, drive, vote or be in a sexual relationship with an adult...they are not MENTALLY capable...

I hate this... my first reaction (seeing a small clip) was that it was a no win situation because taking the kids into protective custody would also be disruptive and harmful, but then the more I watched the more it became clear that these are horrible horrible parents and that Cody especially needs to be removed. So angry right now...

I actually hope this thread doesn't get locked so that everyone can be informed when the kids are safe and the parents in jail.
They can serve time right ? I mean, there are dozens of evidence of abuse right there on Youtube :/

I'm the only one who don't find any of those "prank your children" videos funny at all? Even the mild ones like giving them empty box for christmas instead of what they asked disgust me. Making your child emotional distressed while you laugh and film it to the word to see(who include their peers and teachers) make me wonder who is the real child there.

If this scripted then this kids are the best actors we've ever seen.

But no not I don't think this is scripted. Kids are terrified. Not sure what else the parents can say to try and justify this though.

Yeah, even the "mild" ones are terrible.
I was a victim of this and I don't look back on it fondly...

It makes even less sense to blame DeFranco if it is fake

"How dare you accuse us of abusing our children when we publish fake videos which portray us abusing our children!"

This whole situation is sad. I get the sense that the parents do love the kids and in some sense it's a close-knit household. They probably have some "fun times". But in their general dopeyness and lack of common sense they regularly drift into traumatic abuses. They're just poor lowlifes with no sense of appropriate restraint when it comes to emotional/physical abuse.

It might be a hard but necessary wake up call to have all this attention focused on them, showing them that what they are doing is considered inappropriate by greater society. At least they're given the feedback to change. Think how many households are just like this, but others never see it.

Some pranks can be fun. But a lot of them are simply: make the kid sad and laugh at them. That is not a prank you should do on kids, or anyone really. And yes, I hate the trend of filming this stuff and putting it online.

I can't argue with that analysis. Damn.

I suppose there must be even worse that we don't see.

This is so fucking disgusting. I don't have the stomach to watch these. This gifs are enough alone. Someone please tell me they are going to get these kids into a better home.

Read through the thread and didn't see anybody outright defend this. Good job gaffers.

Cody in particular needs to be a way from these abusive parents.

Playing a harmless trick on your kids is one thing, but any normal parent would feel like shit if they brought them to tears. These parents seem to really enjoy watching their kids cry, especially Cody. It's emotional abuse through and through. Poor kids.
