Between the shield and the dragon, there was so much going on in the match that it was like watching two fights much of the time. So much movement, odd trajectories, and angling for advantage.

I like watching this game being played more than I thought I would. God I hope I don't suck at it, but I guess if I do I can still enjoy watching good players

So like, I can tell when Minmin is doing her kick which is meant to parry attacks, but I didn't see that happen all that often, and I don't think that happened at all in the last two matches. Can anyone else confirm whether or not that ability mattered? Or is it really that hard to make use of?

The default arms available for Helix were pretty terrible for a nimble target. They'd be great if he could've kept Min Min in the corner to apply pressure.

Hard to imagine someone actually accomplishing that in battle since supers are still determined by your actual punches.

I still think ARMS is going to have a little trouble with Splatoon out there, they are lucky SMASH is not out here too.

ARMS is legit though much more impressive then I expected.

Problem with pokken is Wii U version is outdated.

Haven't paid attention to this game until now but I love everything about it. Only concern is that motion controls will prevent me for playing regularly and I'm not convinced the regular controls will be any fun.

The more I think about it, the more I think that Smash will be 2018 or beyond.

If you release Smash in 2017 you cut the legs out from under ARMS.

Imo it seems to lack meaningful depth to the movement too. You have the focus attack (it has another name) that can be dashcanceled universally buts that it, and even that is not that useful

The shield arm seems so cool and allows for great asymmetrical strategies.
Anyone knows what the phoenix/bird arm does? It corrects height perhaps?

Not sure about elemental variations of arms, especially since every character has access to every arm (also not sure about that).

Didn't that hype for Splatoon not appear until after the E3 blowout for it? That was where tons of people got to play it, the previews happen, and other hands on events took place in Japan. I don't expect there to be any big hype for ARMS until a situation like that happens.

Even if Japan doesn't feel the same about it that isn't a big problem. That just means Nintendo should try an make sure it appeals to all markets and not just Japan. Only designing for Japan is one of Nintendo's biggest negatives and I hate when they do that. I don't think they're doing that here though. Hopefully all markets start liking it more once they put more attention on it.
