Tekken |OT3|

Can someone explain Claudio's starburst to me like I'm 5?

When you hit with certain of his moves he gets a glowing hand.

When he has a glowing hand, you can do extensions to some of his other moves that are very strong. For example, without starburst you can do d+2 which is just a low. With it you can do d+2,2 which is a low launcher.

Doing any of these extensions spends the starburst, so you lose it. (Though if it's a combo starter you can often end that combo with a move that gives it back again)

TLDR Hit with stuff to get glowy hand. He can do some stronger moves with glowy hand.

Can someone explain Claudio's starburst to me like I'm 5?

If you hit them with certain moves that involving Claudio's right hand he gains a blue hand charge. During blue hand he gets 4 new move extensions to strings & 1 completely new move. Once he uses one of said moves he loses blue hand & must aquire it again. While in blue hand mode if you do a move that would normally give you blue hand on hit, the animation for blue hand wont come out, reducing the recovery on these moves, & making them better.

I really wish there was a Tekken scene here in Denmark. Or maybe there is but I don't notice it. We had a tournament last year, but that was because of the Comic Con event and Tekken 7 being there. I mean, it would be a lot more fun if I could compete with others and be part of the FGC.

Do you live in Copenhagen? You can try reaching out to some people on this facebook group:

After doing certain moves, Claudio can initiate starburst (where his fist ignites with blue light). When he's in startburst mode he has access to a handful of new strings that will extinguish the starburst flame if anyone of them are used. He'll have to re-initiate the starburst to have access to those strings again.

NRS games always die after one year. The only reason they stay relevant is because they invest tons of money into tournaments.

https://blog.us.playstation.com/201...kes-a-new-balance-on-playstation-underground/

Tekken has been my fighting series of choice for almost 20 years, so you know I wasn't gonna miss an opportunity to finally get some quality time with Tekken 7 just weeks before its June 2 PS4 launch date. Watch the new episode of PlayStation Underground to see me and legendary Tekken community advisor MarkMan23 trade blows.

And now, my personal perspective. Over 20 years and at least nine mainline games, Tekken has evolved into a complex beast, culminating into Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on PS3. With Tekken 7, Bandai Namco looks to be striking a more balanced play style, making the game a bit more approachable for newcomers while retaining the series' trademark depth and versatility.

I applaud those efforts. Based on my initial play time, Tekken 7 looks to be spiritually closest to Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, which just so happens to be my personal favorite entry in the series.

So what's different? I immediately noticed that juggle combos are generally less ”bouncy." Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag 2 featured a signature ”bound" mechanic that made certain attacks bounce the hapless victim against the ground to set up extended combos. In Tekken 7, this has been softened into a ”screw attack" mechanic that still leaves the victim vulnerable to mid-air follow-ups but reduces the lengthy off-the-ground, off-the-wall extended combos that could easily dominate less experienced opponents.

There are a couple of other major additions that help shake up the status quo. Rage Art is a new meter-fueled power move that's loosely comparable to the X-Ray attacks from Mortal Kombat X or the super moves from Injustice. Rage Drives allow you to imbue an attack or combo with increased damage, while the new Power Crush mechanic will allow certain attacks (Nina's Blonde Bomb, for one) to be armored and uninterruptible.

A few other details that caught my eye: it's now easier to break out of throw attempts, and the ground game has seen some tweaks, too, with a faster-to-execute rising kick (formerly b, b, 3+4, now just 3+4) and some revamped animations.

Outside of the traditional one-on-one matches, Tekken 7 adds a host of new playable modes you can play to hone your skills and collect new customization items. Treasure Battle looks like an early winner, pitting you against a never-ending gauntlet of opponents and awarding loot drops of various rarities.

The new Story mode even promises to resolve the decades-old Mishima clan feud, so you know that Bandai Namco isn't holding back.

So that's Tekken 7 — it's out June 2 on PS4 and I'll be first in line.

Okay, that movie was not very good.

But I thought they did a good job on casting some of the characters, Eddy, Raven and Bryan were on point.

They died because the online has been terrible and over patching. They state relevant because the community for the games is getting bigger in general and less because of the money they invest in tournaments.

Injustice 2 won't have the main issue, which is bad online based on MKXL's awesome netcode.

More people will than Injustice 2.

They better fucking stick to their game.

I swear to god guys.

You'd better support this shit.

I mean considering we have a person here just getting the used version of the game. I'm pretty sure that there are many others that share the same sentiment. So...yeah..good luck with that.

Ok guys if you want to make some extra cash here's the deal. I want Tag 2 MCZ TES+ boards. Since PS4 sticks all have that fucked up random double input dropping I'm collecting these incase my board dies. Hit me up if you havs one you don't want anymore. $50 per board.

Just gotta ask the big question...

Was Tekken 6 a mistake? Should Tekken have gone in that direction or do you wish they straight up skipped 6?

I like Tekken 6
Although bound system made people who were already complaining about juggles scream even more it was still great. Tag 2 took it too far tho (which i love but understand) and all the tag systems that will never return in another game were kinda crazy

Nah. TTT2 was a mistake. Bloated roster with so many awful and unnecessary characters, ridiculous damage and imo awful tag mechanics.

It has the lowest sales and lowest numbers in the competitive scene. Remember that the game nearly got removed at Evo 2014 because no one was playing it or watching it, Namco had to bribe the game back into the lineup, just so they could show their T7 trailer (3 years before console release LOL).

There is no such thing as "skipping" T6. The entirety of Tekken 7 is based on the fundamentals of Tekken 6. The screw attack animation + bound concept originated in T6, the wall slump mechanics are replicated from T6. The floor/wall break mechanic was also ripped from T6. We have no frame of reference to know what the series would look like without T6. Everything that's here now is built on it.

Tag 2 was just too good

No way. Tekken 6 is one of my favorites, if not my number one favorite game in the series.

My dream Tekken game is a blend of Tekken 6 and 4, capitalizing on each game's strengths and polishing out the blemishes.

Beyond Tekken 6, I guess I enjoyed the ledge breaks, neat character interactions, and balanced Jinpachi in Tag 2, and the slo-mo in Tekken 7. The full quality of the cinematic story remains to be seen, but it looks all right so far. Tekken Tunes/Jukebox is really nice, and should be a standard feature of all versions. I could live happily without supers or meter mechanics in fighting games.

No not at all. Like AAK said T7 is based off of T6. If anything its more of a offshoot of the design decisions in T6 and the response the game has had since. To the point this game could be an alternate timeline T6.

I think TTT2 needs to be revisted sometime after the honeymoon period of T7 wears off to really come to a good opinion of the game.

I love T6's visual style.

I liked Bounds and the stiff engine as opposed to TTT2's slipperiness.

Best customization in the series thus far. T7 ain't out yet I know, but I've been watching Japanese and Korean arcade matches and seen the customization videos before they got taken down

I remember folks back then thought Jun and Kunimitsu were the 2 characters that'd be added to the BR update, finding out it just a DBZ ripoff bastard child and a Russian sexbot

Besides fuckin' up with most of the new characters, scenario campaign being the main way to make money, and nerfing Yoshimitsu, it's my favorite game in the series.

I need some more recommendations for Tekken OST tracks. If you could pick 5 from the entire series, which would you say were so good that I should choose them from the Jukebox in Tekken 7?
