Modders add ultrawide resolutions to Wii U emulation (21:9 BotW)

They have a history of downplaying Cemu. It's kind of predictable at this point, and it doesn't help that they're utterly clueless.

Yeah the posts are hilariously off, especially about CEMU looking worse because switch has a high internal resolution (???)

Wonder if it would work over wider areas too like triple screen on Nintendo 64

Sweet Googly Moogly! I really want a three monitor setup.

The HUD still stretches at its most basic, but something interesting over widescreen hacks in PS2/GC games is that I haven't seen any occlusion culling at all in any games I've tested, meaning you can get away with whatever aspect ratio you want.
Very nice, this emu is leagues better than the PS2/GC emus already so no surprise

I really need to get back into the emulator scene. Is there a list of all the best emulators out right now?

MUnited83

For you.
I already showed examples and articles, take your time to read before claiming I'm just "downplaying" something.

Not a single one about CEMU and just about accuracy in general.

So so wrong. Dolphin is miles better than Cemu.

True, but Dolphin has had a shitload of years in development already. I'd say that CEMU development outpaces Dolphin though. CEMU is not even 2 years old and is already very very good.

If you play CEMU and the original hardware you can see why the accuracy is pretty bad.
The articles are to show how important it is besides, "omg 8K ultra wide"

Emulation is all about game preservation, thats why some nice members in the emulation scene are working hard on accuracy is the most valuable thing when we talk about game preservation.

Have 21:9 monitors improved lately? I was close to buy one last year but it seemed that most of them had some sort of issue like light bleeding, weird colors, etc.

This to me is so much more interesting than 4k.

So are just going to keep on vague shitposting or are you going to actually post proof of CEMU just using hacks to run everything or that they don't care about accuracy, or how it's somehow "years behind" despite being ridiculously accurate for such a young emulator of such a recent system?

Some people just want to have fun, too much to ask?

Some people dislike that a emulator can improve the looks and features of their consoles, you should know by now why he's shitposting emulators based on his post history.

shitposting ?
I don't blame you, you can see as shitposting as once again you show that you lacks knowledge about the emulation scene.

Don't take things too personal.

Again, you just continue to do vague shitposting without actually saying anything.

It's cute that you think you are schooling anyone on emulation, jediyoshi especially lmao

Yeah, unlike you, who have expert knowledge of emulation like:

Blame the Wii U version. The Switch as a better internal resolution.

This is just a statement that is incorrect. And you haven't tried to explain yourself or recant it either. So stop shitting the thread with your derail about accuracy and calling others ignorant. This thread isn't about accurate emulation. Trying to run games in 21:9 is not accurate.

It's mind-boggling that people are bitching about accuracy on an emulator that is barely 2 years old for a fairly recent system. It's just plain crazy and instead of peope being thankful we get incessant complaints.

Personally I am astounded that the emulator is at this stage already. I have a pack of games that I left when I sold my WiiU early in the year and I ripped them just in case which now seems like a good move. There is almost a dozen games which I liked and kept and I just added Zelda to the stack so having an option to play them without dealing with the console itself is quite great. I also have a 21x9 monitor so this particular development is pretty awesome.

I really wish Cemu was open source. I don't want to downplay the accomplishment here--because it's huge--but I suspect that in a few decades, Wii U emulation will end up in a similar state to where N64 emulation is right now.

This dev isn't going to keep working on Cemu forever, and once he stops no one else can pick up from where he left off. Compare that to something like Dolphin, which has gotten so great through years of collaboration between hundreds of devs.

More likely 10's

the rest will be illegal downloads
I think it's mostly great for WiiU owners who want to get rid of the console but still want to replay some of their favorite games. That's pretty much me. I left things like Zelda games, TMS, Wonderful 101, Mario, etc.... and got rid of the console and the rest of the games. It's nice to have an option to replay some of the better games from WiiU library sans the console itself.

If it was open source they wouldn't be raking in so much money as they do now, maybe they'll make it open source near the end of its development

There is nothing to indicate they will just abandon it completely without making it open source. Honestly, it seems more likely that they will once they are done with imo.

Also, it's not like a open source doesn't exit. Decaf is a Wii U emulator that is open source, and while it's not close to CEMU, it is still coming along nicely.

21:9 is truly the ratio we deserve! It's definitely been my favorite upgrade to my pc gaming in recent years.

Really great to see the Nintendo titles in the format. Those screens look great!
