Our main character in The Last Night is bisexual.

I sure hope the author isn't angling for the direction with this characterization that I think he's angling for.

I mean, his points explain themselves. Eugenics, gamification, feminism ruining the world... The game is a Red Pill, Return of Kings manifesto.

Was interested in this game when I learned about it in the old thread. The trailer at E3 this year looked mad cool, as I wrote on the first page. Then I learn about all this bullshit and my interest waned.
Sorry other people working on this game, I'm no longer going to buy.

Game looks amazing. Great to see it finally getting the spotlight after following it for years. Personally, I don't give a shit what his opinions are. I just want a really cool game. If you can't separate him from the game, that's fine, but killing this thread with all that discussion is a shame.
The artist didn't seperate himself from the game, why should I? It's such a stupid argument.

Uh oh, I guess now I'm not allowed to like this game despite looking extremely fucking cool and promising.
Don't care if the director punched a baby, I want to experience that piece of art.

I am Andrew Ryan, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the rewards of the patriarchy? "No," says the scientist on television, "it belongs to everyone." "No," says the mods in the NeoGAF, "it belongs to everyone." "No," says the man for equality, "it belongs to everyone." I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... The Last Night. A game where the artist would not fear the censor; where the genders would not be bound by petty science; where the men would not be constrained by the feminists! And with the sweat of your brow, The Last Night can become your game as well.

This is why I love GAF.

The piece of art's entire focus is the narrative built on a shitty foundation. Punching a baby would actually be easier to separate tbh

It's like if instead of making Hacksaw Ridge, Mel Gibson made a movie with a nice style that preached anti-semitism and racism and people were like "hehe separate the art from the artist!"

I hope the writer gave Tim a firm slap and then decided to write a completely different story. One that actually makes fucking sense.

Okay now that these tweets have riled some people up

I hope we don't have calls for funding to be removed or cancelled

because it looks pretty cool and it would be shame if that happened.

In that metaphor, the piece of art would be about how punching babies is actually a good thing and that people that disagree want to eliminate our natural rights to punch babies.

I love these posts because they have the same mindset that this game's creator has. Progressivism is killing FREE SPEECH! I'm not allowed to like a thing!!!!!! It's art""""""

I'm confused...what is wrong with egalitarianism? I always thought that was the ideal.

Well you see he already believes France is completely equal between the sexes so his egalitarian radar may be somewhat off. Also he already said the plot of his game revolves around feminists taking over.

In this metaphor the art is seemingly about punching babies.

Is it really hard to see why a lot of people are turned off by that?

Wow...and I just showed this game off to high praise.

What a piece of shit. And is the creator actually admitting that gamergate was all about shitting on other people instead of "integrity"?

Yeah, no, I'm not supporting this shit at all. Game has a beautiful look about it but I am not giving a GG'er a dime.

Fuck that guy.

The writer for this game posted in the first few pages of this thread. It'd be really interesting to hear his thoughts.

People are mad because he worded it in a way that feminism is bad. He obviously meant that (in his game) feminism went out of control, but people cant understand it.
This thread is so amazing,in a way its like a dystopian future by itself where people cant have a different opinion.

You know there is an interesting story to be told regarding extremism and radical people coopting a movement to push their own ideals, ideals which are often contradictory to the movement they've infected

The idea of modern feminism being corrupted into some kind of totalitarianism isn't an inherently bad one, but it's something that would have to be handled incredibly tactfully, and this douchebag has proven with his opinions that he isn't capable of that

I remember first seeing this ages ago and I fell in love with it then, it was so long ago that I'd completely forgotten it existed.

It looks amazing but at the moment it's a simple "no' from me due to all that stupidity, I;d much rather just not hand over any cash to his team. People will make their own decisions about it but it would take a hell of a lot to convince me to support them now.
