Again, if someone wants to make a gif of these two combos for others to see, from the previous page:

Some new footage/developer interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCTF...re=youtu.be&t=

combo worth making a gif for at 7:45 (he/she misses the last part, but still)

edit: golden frieza combo at 8:30 (includes an awesome "destructive finish")

the last match it's just the "gameplay demostration 2" that we had already seen, nothing to see there

I hope it isn't a glitch because SSJ3 is hideous and should be removed from the history books.

He clearly has the "de powering" effect at the end for no reason, so I think it's a glitch.

I think the ideal way would have been like Gohan, super kamehameha lv 3 = ssj lv 5 = ssj 3.

Is that a kind of Xfactor thing I see in some matches? goku had red glowing fists so I guess his is a power increase while Buu had fast health regen when his was used.

It is.

I think it's stupid to not have the color match the character. It would look better.

So I'm ignorant of DBZ.

What do I watch to remedy this?

I'd start with Dragon Ball, but if you wanna go straight to Z then I suggest the original DBZ in Japanese, but if you watch it dubbed then go with Dragon Ball Z Kai. Kai is essentially a directors cut of the series and gets rid of filler (screaming sessions) and greatly improves the pacing. Plus it does the Japanese script a lot more justice.

DBZ Abridged

Please stop.

It regens health, it isn't different by character. Not sure if it boost power, but I'm pretty sure it's also a burst

Arc Sys would be able to make Bulma a good Tron Bonne style character if they had more creative freedom, she'd totally fit that. But i guess that style of chracter is more suited to that existing trio of idiots that pilots robots sometimes. It would've been so rad. I can see them getting Mai with a shotgun and an army in there for laughs.

I think it's a glitch because he has the same aura as SSJ3 and he "detransforms" at the end except nothing changes...

All the hair and clothing movement is hand animated right? Goku's Super Saiyan hair is moving in the close up, so that means they actually animated it.

So, my most wanted characters for this game are:

1) Bardock
2) Goku Black
3) Satan/Hercule
4) Tien

I can't decide on a 5th character, though. I'd say a movie character I really like but movie characters (outside of Broly) have a slim chance of showing up in this game over Super characters. And I'd also say Majin Vegeta but odds are if there's any other Vegeta in the game, it's SSB Vegeta.

I'd also really want Hercule to have the joke Super Saiyan Hercule from that one Dragon Ball Super episode as a transformation; more like a joke transformation than anything else. It'd be so great!

It's entirely possible they had this before the SSJ3 was modeled though.

Plus they are using some physics tech in this so maybe that's handling clothes and hair.

The facial animation is strikingly similar.

I really hope there's a straight 1v1 mode for online play. The 3v3 stuff is the only thing I don't quite like.

Press Release and the trailer mentioned 3v3 and it seems like they're pushing that feature so I wouldn't really expect a 1v1 mode for online play. Does KoF XIV have 1v1 for online play? I haven't checked.

They don't use physics for anything animation related. Everything is done by hand, per frame, to ensure lighting, shading, motion, silhouette, pose, etc. is exactly what the artist wants it to be.

I find it funny that hyper -fighting could be too much for a dragonball fighting game for some people. I won't be good in either case, not close to competetive no matter which format . I support a fine piece of art by talented people with my money even if i can't keep up with the rest.

I always prefer assist stuff like that off in any fighting game I've played. I find it more fun that way.

Yup, KoF XIV has 1 v 1 online mode, with proper Rounds and everything.

It also has a party mode where each member of the team can be played by a unique online player.

AND has online training mode, often requested, but never remembered...

It'd be interesting to see this DBfighterZ have such features. Party mode is a good way to focus on one character, while still workin' within the 3 v 3 ruleset, for example.

I'd like if it had variable team sizes ala Skullgirls but I doubt it.

Still can't wrap my head around this game actually existing and looking the way it does. I knew it was gonna look good but god damn, they managed to exceed my expectations. They nailed everything so perfectly. AND this game comes out in early 2018.

In 2018, Dragon Ball becomes the king of fighters. All's right with the world.
That may be a bit of a steep hill to climb, at least within the FGC. Before DBF can get a shot at SFV, it has to get through both Melee & Smash 4 (purely from a competitive standpoint). That being said, I can see DBF being amongst the top 5 biggest competitive fighting games in the FGC & it probably has the best shot at getting to the top of any of the recent fighting games (due to ASW & Dragon Ball as a brand).

It's kind of absurd how much better this looks than the new MvC.

What is going on in the world? Shit is upside down.

Mechanically MvCI seems fine, it's just the awful artstyle that's really killing it. A huge downgrade from 3 for sure.

I though everyone kinda disliked SFV.
I hear nothing but people complaining about it.
