Have you updated recently? Try re-downloading from the site and copy/pasting that version over you existing one.

Also you can try to delete the IdleMaster folder from C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\IdleMaster

Updated Idlemaster? I did it like 5-6 months ago I think. I'll try to overwrite it with the latest version as you say, thanks! :)

I have recently been looking for hidden gems, and some people pointed out that the ranking heavily favoured games with a lot of good reviews, so that the really hidden gems might be lost in the process. So I have decided to compute the ranking again (same method), but this time, focusing on games with a good amount of playtime yet a low number of reviews. This is a part of the haul:

Games which I discover

Games which I already know about

Games which might have been indirectly favored in the ranking due to their high price

What do you think? Has anyone played any of these games?

What I find hilarious is that they're charging $60 for a shitty game + $20 DLC - all for an Early Access game. Game was never that great to begin with, but the concept was new(ish) so I definitely enjoyed it for the first few weeks.

After that you see the devs aren't doing shit about fixing bugs, they're just happy they hit a money jackpot and are milking it for all its worth.

To be fair and even though I hate this type of games, it's the only multiplayer survival game that's not dead 1 month after the release/early access so it must have done something right.

SHENZHEN SOLITAIRE is great.

Yes, but the game only has 17 reviews, so it is really penalized by the Wilson score.

I think it is the right approach to look for hidden gems in 2 steps:
  • first with all the games in the pool, although the ranking will favour games with a lot of reviews, because their quality is less uncertain,
  • second with games with few reviews (say, fewer than 50 reviews) yet a good amount of playtime (say, at least 5 hours), so that we can discover hidden gems among the games which have been played and enjoyed, but for which most players have not taken the time to write a review (despite them taking the time to play the game).

So I played through a couple of games in the last two weeks.

The first was Quantum Break, which kind of surprised me with how good it turned out to be. Yeah, the performance is not perfect and playing at non native res is obviously not ideal but if you can live with that it's actually a pretty good game. The game has great artwork, especially environmental art, so it can look stunning at times. If you stand in one place and look carefully you'll obviously notice the dithering and graphical artifacts but in practice it's just a really good looking game. The RTGI can look absolutely fantastic in some scenes.

The game has less action than I thought it would. There are lots of sections where you're just moving or platforming your way through time glitches. The combat, when it does happen, is also pretty fun when you start chaining together all the time manipulation abilities. The writing is competent for a time travel story, and the characters have some depth.

The live action stuff was another interesting idea. They tell a largely parallel story to the actual game but there is some crossover in the characters and events happening in both stories. On it's own the live action stuff isn't all that great but it works as a companion piece and provides some history and context to the events of the game. They say that the choices you make in the game will affect the live action stuff but that's basically superficial and not particularly significant.

So, to recap, it's a good looking game that has a decent story and plays pretty well. It does not deserve it's less than stellar reputation by a long shot. I'd say it's definitely worth checking out if you got it in the sale or keep an eye out for it in the next one.

The other game I played was Valley. It's sort of an indie walking simulator type game with some platforming and puzzle solving. I say walking simulator because you're basically just exploring a region and picking up the story through audio logs and collectibles, but the truth is you're never walking at all. You have an exosuit that lets you move really fast and jump really high. Combined with a few other movement tools (like a grappling hook), you actually, literally fly through levels at some places. Movement is very, very fast and that can be quite exhilarating. And because of how much distance you can cover, the maps are also really huge. I think it's made in Unreal Engine 4 and it's a nice looking game with some really nice music too. The story is also serviceable but the real draw is just moving/flying really fast through the levels. It's about 4 hours long. Not the greatest game in the world but I enjoyed it and I'd recommend checking it out if you like this sort of game.

hi,i have problem with steam notification that got stuck for 2 weeks after i bought Hollow knight

jnkR76S.jpg

after i press on it i go to my activity

iVuIlB5.jpg

i bought Bayonetta when it released, and i bought Vanquish also when it got released.

and in steam sale i bought Hollow knight, why it says i bought all 3 together?

and the notification never goes away.

I don't understand how Trackmania is allowed to deliver updates through their own servers. It's so bad. You schedule to play one of their demos, it might be a 30 or 60 minute slot. And you can't pre-load the files before you start playing. I pretty much have to wait until tomorrow now because of the way their channels are set up.

All this removing games and invalidating keys made me finally panic buy a copy of Prey (2006) from one of those dodgy sites. Almost bought Retribution Ride to Hell as well but there is no way I was paying that much.

I've been having the same issue. You can clear the unread comment alert by clicking "Mark all as read" on the notifications page, though.

I carefully bought games during the summer sale which I was certain would not be in this humble monthly. I am expecting to be screwed lol.

Me too. Hollow Knight, Axiom Verge, Subnautica all should not be in it. Technomancer may very well be and I have 2.2 Hours played!

I mostly carefully didn't play anything over 2 hours I thought might end up in the monthly. Starcrawlers is no chance, though I did play The Technomancer over two hours as well!

I have compiled a list of games which I believe have a high chance to appear in a Monthly soon. If you have bought any of these, cross your fingers.

You're doing god's work, Wok.

Thanks for exposing these low-profile titles!

I've had Serial Cleaner on my Wishlist for some time now. Looks like a fantastic hide & seek game with a fresh, irreverent premise and killer presentation style.

Just waiting for it to exit Early Access before digging in.

I don't think there's ever been a Humble Monthly I've deeply regretted not getting on board for, but there's probably games is have given a shot if I had.

There is nothing more tedious than redeeming multiple games on Steam. I always dread having to redeem bundles, I just bought indie Gala + groupees preorder (8bit) + I will have humble all when I get home :(

I tried this when I activated the Sekai Project Bundle games. Really great tool. Although I still had to copy and paste the codes, but I didn't need to click through the activation window

Really enjoying Under Night and Way of the Samurai 3. Real good pick ups.

Found Under Night much easier to get into than the other anime fighters.

That is a good idea. The original Prey is a really interesting game and I can live with dodgy sites if it is for games that are otherwise not available.

Yeah, UNIEL doesn't deal with air dashes and that makes it much easier for me to deal with as well.

Archi's farmer has a pretty good key redemption option too if one feels like setting it up.

High chance based on what? I wouldn't mind Thumper or Redout though.

Based on:
  • Steam review score,
  • historical lowest price,
  • being featured in a chrono.gg "bundle" 2 to 3 months ago,
  • never appearing in another bundle.
I have shown 12 games, but I would not expect more than 1 or 2 to appear in today's monthly bundle.

I'm really enjoying shadow complex remastered, nice little metroidvania.

Humble monthly is today, right? wonder how it will be after the steam sale.

Shit, another game to add to my wishlist. I always wanted to try Shadow Complex back in the day but didn't have a 360 at the time it came out.

I think it's funny I ended up liking both Akatsuki and Eltnum which I found out were from other games. They seem to just fit in with the regular cast.

After playing this I really wish that Fillia picture came true.

I would've bought it if it had

Nice. Redout is the only game on that list I already own. Thumper would be awesome!

Funny enough I did not buy Hollow Knight or Subnautica for the very reason I am expecting them to be in a bundle at some point soon. lol.

Well Hollow Knight has sold really well so I dont see why they would include it in a bundle now. Subnautica is in early access for another month or so and then it is launching for realsies and they are increasing the price so I doubt they would bundle it. I could be wrong though.

Are they invalidating keys now too?

They're not. This whole removing games from the list thing is getting misinterpreted as Valve removing purchased games from users and just serves as fodder for those who are still opposed to digital distribution for any reason. I'm not sure why they did it but it would be wise to control the messaging before people start getting the wrong idea.
