InFAMOUS [Mafia] [OT] No Good Karma...

splinter's stance is to trust the role that has no incentive to be honest and wins with mafia
I just told you the incentive to be honest. I've also never seen a non killing neutral that can only win with scum. Even our killing neutrals usually don't have that condition, it would be a huge exception in Gafia.

And I don't know how many times I need to tell people not to trust CCS.

You're sitting on a default position. Stop being lazy and look at the flips we've had so far. CCS would be a net asset if used appropriately.

*also splinter*: I think mafia will night kill the neutral-evil role that wins with them, instead of trying to night kill town power roles

Sorry CCS but after getting burned in DGRonpa1 I just can't trust neutrals anymore. You are still a threat to town in my book.

I am leaning against a Cabot vote, mostly because we both disagree with batsnacks original assessment of Time's reads from yesterday.

seems like a weird reason not to vote me. It's not really significant to anything is it?

Jesus fuck. Alright I'm at work which means I'll go and read the day now. (That one post I made while really drunk doesn't count.)

I'll have some thoughts I assume.

Bat, I'm going to die. If I'm useful enough to town you guys don't lynch me, scum will kill me. The only way I survive is being good enough at picking scum that I deflect their shots. I may as well help town before I die.

Also, scum may as well kill me, I'm the only real night threat of ant sort. Given the number who've already flipped, I'm willing to bet there's at most one town PR left. May as well let me try and help.

Hell, I'm even willing to choose targets based off a day phase vote.

here's a question, did you genuinely scumread me?

If so, then what from last nights result made you lean that way?

I did, and I still do. Last night's result didn't change my mind, I was just even more worried given that I'd hoped to get rid of you.

I'm still somewhat curious about Flame_AC too. He threatened to claim near the end of the dayphase because he wouldn't be around at the end, so we let him off the hook there. However, there is still a lot of unresolved suspicion from Day 1 around him.

Flame, I would like to see you speak up and address the accusations that you were coasting and acting scummy through Day 1. I'm not asking you to role claim at all, I don't think that is required or even necessarily helpful, but I don't want to simply ignore your suspicious behavior just because you threatened to claim.

I also have some suspicion for CCS over the end of day voting. It isn't really because CCS engaged in voting shenanigans. After all, I did too, which I apologize to everyone for. However, I made it a point to not directly tie the vote, and I also avoided putting my vote on Dusk, who at the time I was pretty sure wasn't scum. On the other hand, CCS didn't seem particularly interested in the actual outcome of the vote. His voting behavior was sewing chaos, but he never betrayed any actual interest in or opinions on the two people being voted off.

This post which does its best to appear so towny and contributive isn't sitting right with my gut for some reason. And I'm pretty sure hangovers don't last two days (unless your Cabot and it's my last day in Scotland). Any one else feeling anything off this?

Doesn't seem very town aligned to me, you went off very little (still don't know specifics since you and splinter care little for going in detail) to try and kill an active player.

Killing AB was a true pro-town move even if the actual flip revealed a backfire.

I feel Sky and Ri sort of sit in this hazy area where they post and there seems to be effort there, but they both seem to lack feeling. It's not a great alignment tell, but it certainly feels off.

It's a very careful post, particularly the first two paragraphs

Try to kill my strongest scum read is bad town play?

I caught up. I thought this was a normal game, so I thought the witch is a farfetched role. Then I recalled we had a suicide day cop.

Anyway, if CCS is scum, and the witch thing is just a ploy, he'll eventually name all his scumbuddies every single night because they're the only ones that can cover for him.

As for the witch winning with scum, there is a werewolf role called a sorcerer that can only win with scum.

Anyway, I am sorry to see that Dusk Soldier is actually town and that we lost two townies at night, one a doctor.

As for me not appearing again after my reply to cabot, I just didn't bother replying because it was plain as day that I was talking about myself in the context of all the meta discussion happening on the first day which frankly all flew by me.

yeah when its day 1 and it's one of the players you can actually discuss things with and gain info from them.

I also covered what you said of me day 1. You were very reluctant to call me a scum read.

I see a neutral getting heat off someone and hoping he kills the person to be safe again.

well as long as you're sorry.

as for the second bolded statement, I don't really understand what you mean. Could you not have just tried to get involved in what was happening instead?

because you were his real scumread and he wanted to off me instead, silly.

but that would show that ccs has not been that truthful about his scum reads and thus would call into question the whole plan to trust him while not trusting him!

Pretty sure witch just redirects what a person would have been doing as night action any how. So unless it was the goon who was doing the kill it wouldn't redirect that. For non goons it would utilize their pr, although I guess if they have a ninja or strong man kill that muddies the water a bit.

So most people know I'm a pretty EV based player in pretty much everything I do. Which generally leads to taking the more consistent plays and not going for big swings.

However, in mafia just like in most card games, once you get down by enough, making the safe/consistent choice only leads to your slowly losing. Making the big risky play is your only way to claw back into having a shot at winning. Sure, itcan also lead to you losing faster, but losing fast or losing slow is all the same, it's a lose.

I stand by the fact that I wish the person responsible for ABs death would come forward with more info. Knowing if it was a one off would be important. Since no one did I'll assume we are either in the game state with a JOAT or a SK. I'm hoping it's JOAT as 2 kills a night puts us in a tight spot.

But basically, all of this is to say, I don't think we lynch CCS. It's the safe and consistent way to slowly bleed ourselves out. We need to hit scum and we need to start doing it quickly. We've lost a crap ton of town PRs for it only being Day 2.

Let's roll the dice.

It's obvious why CCS targeted Cabot. He's a neutral and Cabot was a threat. Why is trust even being considered here?

Now that CCS is exposed, he has different considerations to make. If he lies about his main target, we lynch him. If he is caught lying about his second target, we lynch him. If we don't like his choice for any of his targets, we lynch him.

Splinter is probably my top town read ATM.

Witch is a super swingy role. No way scum sticks their neck out to save them.

Cabot is getting more side eye from me for the exchange between the two of them.

cabot

side eye all you want, I'm very clear.

I'm not for letting a player I have 0% trust in remain in this game, especially when he has an ability that could cause problems.

But your trust that they are highly likely neutral yes?

Scum is far in the lead at the moment. We can't waste time on a neutral role that is likely the biggest swing available (aka scum is going to nip that in the bud asap so that they stay in the drivers seat). Which puts your strong push against it into perspective really.

I trust that he is not town.

He probably has this ability.

That's the things I am sure of.

PRs may like to stay in the driver seat too, ya know.

Killing AB was a true pro-town move even if the actual flip revealed a backfire.

Do you think that CCS is actually the creator of any of the kills then, because I'm not convinced and that's what we're trying to stop right? Wouldn't it be better if he just redirected whoever he targets to themselves? At this point, I doubt there is much chance that there could be another town member that could kill. At worst we'd lose a night of an investigation.

Also, you being active doesn't mean a whole lot in terms of your alignment as I said before.

The cabot cabot was about how CCS scum read cabot but instead of forcing cabot to commit suicide, he tried to use me for the job. But ehh, because this is me speculating about details that I don't have, could see a mod in the role that prevents forcing self targets.

If CCS targeted me on N1, which I think is pretty likely, there's fuck all he can take from that, because he couldn't target me.

I'm an x-shot commuter.

I activated N1.

your plan's big flaw is the fact that CCS will work to the most optimal solution of his situation lover.

Was that what acohrs did on day 1?
You said you were very clear. It just made me think of Theresa May

Also just noticed "remain" is in that post as well 🤔

Shitposting aside, my entire plan is built around the assumption that CCS will play optimally. All we have to do is make sure the optimal play for his situation is a play that benefits town.

That's quite optimistic of you.

Waking up and seeing the shenanigans so far, I don't know what to think. CCS is a neutral, cabot wants him dead and gone, while Splinter wants to stick his neck out for him.

Very interesting reactions from both. On one hand, CCS technically hasn't done anything to screw over town so far so going so hard for his lynch when there's still actual scum to hunt down seems weird to me. On the other, stanning for someone that offers virtually no benefits for town is pretty weird as well.
