Ok so is the story great?
For the main campaign, no. It starts very slow and then works itself up to a respectable level, but certainly not great.

The story for Mask of the Betrayer, on the other hand, i pretty damn good.

I am on the fence....should this be a buy?

Do you like Dungeons and Dragons? It's a great D&D game. The story is alright, certainly better then much of the crap out there. It's very long, it's well crafted. I dunno what the hangup could be?

I'll have to look into that

It doesn't seem to work with Valve made games (because of the GCF), but it'll work for indie games and Batman.

Just tried it with a small game, got an error

Error running xcopy /E/V/I/F/Y "d:program files\steam\steamapps\common\sam and max episode 4" "C:\Program Files\Steam Part 2\sam and max episode 4 " Error Level=4

I really wanted to buy capcom games this year (DR2 and LP2) But I feel they are still too expensive. (Dont hit me)

I know I won't! I feel the same way. Wasted space on the daily deals.

Eh, bought all the Capcom games I wanted. They'll get cheaper eventually, and I may not even play them until they do. But I feel DR2 was worth the $15.99 and same for Lost Planet. Helps if you own their games already, but I was ready to buy 'em at $19.99, but pleasantly surprised to find them cheaper for being a previous customer.

Would i be right in saying NWN2 plays like Dragon Age or Baldur's Gate? Pause the combat and queue up attacks for party AI (if any)?
Yup, I think you can play in real-time too if you want, but it's all handled with rolls so it doesn't much matter except to get simple fights over with faster.

Durante said:
No, that's NWN1.

NWN1 online ? You can play it co-op, but the story is there, it's story just isn't that captivating until nearing the end. The expansions however get better and better, with Horde of the Underdark being one of the most epic stories I've ever partaken.

It's $10, yes you should buy it. $10 bucks for what could, and should be, 60+ hours of game easily. Mask of the Betrayer is good, Storm of Zehir is very good.

Yes. More like DA than BG.
Been disappointed by Capcom Steam sales.
DR2 for $16-20 was a good deal. Not SUPER AMAZING but certainly a good deal.

Probably more like BG and and maybe kind of closer to ToEE and really close to ID2. There are changes in the mechanics between 2nd and 3rd edition DnD rule sets. But a lot of the stuff is still the same or similar.

Well they finally got me. I had been biding my time carefully up until now, waiting for the ME2 content + Limbo on XBox Live. But NWN2 + both expansions, on Steam, for $9.99? Fuck you, Valve.

Yep, but don't go in expecting DA-quality in terms of UI. You'll come in disappointed. In fact i think the game plays better with AI since the party control is horrendous.:lol

Thanks. :) I'll give it a try then. I love Sim City 4 but it runs like garbage on my system for some reason... And it's not like I have an old PC. Q6600 @ 3.5Ghz, Radeon 5850, 8gbs PC6400, etc. :/
There's a "fix" for that. In the graphical settings, just change from Hardware mode to Software mode. The game now runs at full speed!

Today is by far the best selection of deals for me.

Killing Floor - $4.99
Serious Sam HD - $3.99
Machinarium - $2.99 (yes, I should have purchased the Humble Bundle 2 ... I didn't realize you got the 1st one by spending more than $7.80 Grr.)

Yes, yes, and oh hell yes!

So far I have been doing pretty well. Today's plus;

BF:BC2 - $6.80
Super Meat Boy - $3.75
The Witcher - $4.99
P.B. Winterbottom - $0.49 :lol

Total So-Far - $28.00

And I got tons of gifts for people.

3 copies of Torchlight
2 copies of Machinarium
2 copies of Killing Floor
1 copy of Batman GOTY

I am debating whether I want to give away Serious Sam HD to a friend but he's on a Mac. How hard is it for him to get something up and running on a Macbook Pro?

Only regrets thus far (missed out on):

Titan Quest Gold .. I missed day 1 of the sale .. was hoping it would return .. it didn't =(
Just Cause 2 .. I should've jumped at this. People are raving at how awesome it is.
Puzzle Quest .. Not sure why I didn't throw down the $1.50 for this thing .. stupid.

These sales are so much fun. I am a man of somewhat modest means, but I love being able to gift really fun games to my friends and not be put into debters jail.

It's a nice feeling spending $15 on someone and knowing it's easily 60+ hours of gameplay fun.

Can't wait for the rest of the week to see what else shows up. (Still hoping for a mega sale on the last day where EVERYTHING that was on sale goes back on sale for one last mega blowout day!!) But alas, that's a pipedream.

I own a pile of NWN2 discs but haven't played them in years. Thinking of double dipping.

Are there any compatibility issues with Win7x64 or quad cores?

Does the game run like it should on modern machines?

just checked: 112 bucks spent so far. but I'm damn happy since there's some super meaty stuff in that collection of games.

FO:NV, darksiders, just cause, lara croft: GOL, alpha protocol, bully, guerilla.

it'll take me a loooong time to go through all of those

Well, one of the benefits of indie game is that usually the developers aren't too difficult to contact. I was going to talk to them first. If only for printable versions of the art.

Let us know if they respond to you. I'm interested in this too. Maybe a service like Blurb.com could be of help?

My retard friend has just finished downloading CS:S and it doesn't work for him. I'm hoping (not really) for you lot to give advice.

He decribes it as he lauches the game and then it says "preparing to launch" in and then never lauches.

I really hope you help him.

Mainly to stop him from trying to launch the game every 5 seconds making that annoying pop-up appear in the bottom right corner of my monitor.

First restart steam and make sure it is actually finished downloading.

Try restarting Steam.

Beaten. Also, verify game files.

There are no compatibility issues with modern machines, but the game is single-threaded, so it won't use more than 1 core.

Fuck you Games for Windows Live. I download your shitty shit and then you say it has to update and I have to close the game, but when I do, nothing happens. Then I try to open GFWL, but it immediately says "GFWL has stopped working and has to close." I JUST WANT TO PLAY FUCKING BATMAN.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I just wonder if I'll find time for it. AssCreed 2 is rocking my world right now. I've got over 10 hours in since it went on sale. Holy crap is it a great game. DRM or no DRM, I'm happy I didn't skip this experience. I think it's gonna go down as one of the defining games of this hardware generation.

People that bought or are thinking of getting the SS double pack, there are still loads of people playing the Co-Op.

Okay I fucking give up with trying to help my "friend" try to fix CS:S because first he didn't know how to restart steam, second he couldn't find the steam folder and third he doesn't know what a fucking firewall is! God help us all. (Same friend who doesn't think downloadable games are real games.)
