So today I found this video on how to set MyCareer to Rookie difficulty, and let me tell you guys, everything has become SO much better. For once my shots are actually going in, and in return I'm making more VC and getting better scores for my badges which made the game way less grindy.
Try changing your jumper, your rhythm might be better with a different one.
Also, I left feedback on but turned off the meter. Helps my timing better.
All I know is shooting is still OP so if it isn't falling, just try a different one.
Well I think your player's stats will still matter to an extent unfortunately. Unless you get excellent releases, it's always luck out of the hat, however I find it a lot better now.I did this and created a 3 Point shooting SF, but shots still aren't going in. Even in practice, I'm only hitting 4/10 with nobody guarding me. The shot meter is clearly broken. I try different releases, releasing just before my peak jump or right after. Doesn't seem to matter.
I've used Ray Allen's since 2K14 cause I tend to release my shot as quick as he does. I've even tried tweaking my shot with the creator, but can't get the release to be quicker. This is one of the games that I always got, but they've clearly taken the fun out of it for casuals.
You are safe. For now.I'm sure this has been asked, but...
If I am not going to engage in the created player stuff at ALL (No story mode, no playing him in Franchise, no online stuff), and will only be playing the game for Association mode, 2 player couch versus, and some Play Now- do I need to care about VC?
Yeah this happens to me as well. I have a 96 open 3 and shoot maybe 20% on good releases. Also I noticed that a full white bar is an almost guaranteed brick for me.Try changing your jumper, your rhythm might be better with a different one.

With that said, I do notice more slightly late/early releases go in with more frequency than good.

I got a response from 2k....
Won't get my player back. But they said they'd refund me what I poured into that player and would give me 50,000 more...
They gave me 600k lol
It still sucks. But I guess 3 free players will work for me
So Agent 00 (hate his voice but he puts out great content) released a video that nba2klab.com has been in...the lab...and they use a modded controller to see what base/releases have the biggest window for greens. Unfortunately, they have their content behind a paywall but I've been testing some bases with what Agent 00 put out.
DLO's base is pretty good. I have a shot that I'm really liking . Base DLO, Upper 1 Harden, Upper 2 Parker. 71/29. Fastest speed.
I've been getting more greens with this one than the other ones I have tried.
I'm liking this one too.
Base DLO, Upper 1 Klay, Upper 2 Dirk. 81/19. Fastest. This one feels similar to the first one I gave but for some reason I don't get as many greens. They're most good releases tho.
So yeah. Moral of the story is. The Base is what gives you your Green Release window. Uppers do not effect it. Basically, Uppers are for visual cues only. Supposedly Amateur 1, Set Shot 14, DLO, etc have pretty big windows. After that, you look for the Upper(s) you're most comfortable with to be able to hit that window.
Can confirm DLo's base is slow as fuck. I can't use this shit lol. I went with the amateur 1 base, which feels great.
Impressions of the switch version so far?
Rookie isn't available in MyCareer. Or was that patched in?3 free players? No, you're paying by suffering through unskippable cutscenes, B-Fresh, and badge grinding.
At least you can start on Rookie and be an 85 off the rip.
I started new MyPlayers too. Cheesy Pure Sharp, 6'7 Pure PointForward, and a 7 ft Slashing Post Scorer PF
DO NOT TURN OFF OR PUT THE SWITCH TO SLEEP WHILE THE GAME IS AUTO-SAVING OR ELSE THE SAVES WILL BE CORRUPT! THIS HAPPENS 100% OF THE TIME!
I think you might be rightMy eyes may be playing tricks on me, but the Switch version is looking a lot better now post patch. Less jagged edges, smoother framerate and less compression graphical errors (some haircuts and beards were completely see through when looked at from up close). Oh and finally cutscenes seem to run as intended

I have this Pro-Am Objective that isn't going away. I enter the arena, no one every joins. Will I just have this task forever?
if its the one im thinking of......its the other pro am place....called walkon pro am.....its by the 2K store.....not the one near the footlocker/nba store you want to go in
I'm glad I didn't know about the Rookie trick. My Career made me learn how to play smarter. I'm new to NBA games, as I typically just play the arcade type games. I've learned to not be selfish, and only ask for the ball when I can make a better pass to an open player or, I have a shot opening. I play full 12 minute quarters. My player typically gets 15-25 points a game. I had a high of 36 once. I was on fire that game.
Sorry gotta ask a common question since this thread is too large, did they ever fix the save corruption issue on the switch? I've had to restart my league so many fuckin' times due to save files being corrupted for no damn reason..
Seriously WTF is 2k doing using 5GB of my Switch's main memory and still losing my saves left and right...dafaq.
Has anyone found a way to get VC quickly since they patched all the my league methods? Been playing with friends the past week or so and I'm just not getting enough VC to improve anymore and I'm not prepared to spend extra on this.
I lost my second game in a row in MyCareer where my rookie scored 30+ points with an A+ teamwork grade, but my team fails me and tries for very dumb shots. My guy gets yelled at for being happy about his own stats, while the team lost. Me, I think it's everyone else's fault we lost.
Yeah, sometimes u just need to drop 60 to not lose lol. I'm just getting the ball on every possession and do something with it until I get double teamed usually. Also working towards the badges.
