Is there actually a difference between ps4 and pc version?

graphics are sharper and generally clean looking image , 4k looks amazing in this game but you'll need a powerful PC for that , this game is demanding

loading times are much faster , 60fps or unlocked if you edit the config .ini

Got a chance to play a bit today. Got to the kingdom, I can't believe how large it is. I probably spent a good 30-40 minutes exploring and doing quests before I finally continued the story. I kind of hope the other towns aren't as big because I have some odd compulsion to do everything and talk to everyone but I don't want to spend too much time away from actually advancing the story

Stumbled upon a way to get endless perfectionist pearls relatively early on (~4-6 hours in?) For those who aren't aware, when crafting you'll get somewhere from +1 to +3 most likely, good bit of randomness involved. Perfectionist pearls allow you to add to that number. It's NOT a do over, it's better: if you make a +1 item and then rework it with the pearls, you'll either get +2 or +3. If you were to rework it again, you'd get +3 almost gaurunteed. So they basically allow you to get +3 equipment very easily if you're willing/able to use them. For instance, you can make the pre-order bonus accessories +3 and greatly enhance their effect (+10 hp per turn and +3 mp per turn). Anyways, I'll put how I got them in spoiler tags, obvious warning here that abusing this and making all your gear +3 will make the game much easier....

After you go back to Cobblestone and move the story forward you should be able to find a recipe for a templar's cloth in the church. Then head to Kingsbarrow, there's a campsite north of it. At the campsite, the vendor will sell the materials you need to make the templar's cloth for 150g, and if you make the armor you can sell it for 154g, 168g or 224g for +1/2/3 respectively. In addition to the tiny amount of gold you make, you will get 2 pearls every time. So you can endlessly craft the armor by buying mats/selling armor and just stock up on pearls which you can then use to your heart's content instead of being stingy with them.

So, this is my first DQ game. What exactly are mini medals and what do i do with them?
You must find the person who collects them and he/she will give you prizes according to how many you give him/her. In previous DQ games some of the best weapons and armor in the game were mini medal prizes.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I'm about 4 hours in now and having a blast with this game although my work schedule has been crazy this week so I haven't been able to properly sit down and enjoy it yet. This weekend I predict a few 8 hour sessions.

Loving it so far though, just did the quest with Erik in Heliodoor tracking down his old mate. Spent a bit of time outside town grinding up a few levels (level 8 now! woo!) and got enough gold to properly outfit my crew.

So I can't get 4k 60 with my PC and that's a shame, but 30fps is fine for a JRPG.
I haven't actually put it on my TV yet so I don't know what settings I could drop down to help.

just got the boat!
I'm probably rushing, but I have other games to play so. Where do you turn in mini medals? Does the main hero get a costume like Jasper's armor?

Has anyone heard anything about an official strategy guide? Kinda surpising that there isn't one (so far) for a game as popular and as big as this... I never actually use guides on my first playthroughs where i try to complete everything as much as possible but i like to have them as collector's items and use them for subsequent playthroughs.

We got nothing in Canada. Lately we barely getting any official strategy guide from recent RPGs like Octopath, I think the last strategy guide we got in Canada that I'm aware of was from FFXV.

Really hope DQXI doing well in west. If Octopath mange sell well here then DQXI should do even better.

Sad to see that strategy guides are slowingly dying.Sign of the times i guess. As for sales based on how many people i see who have never played a DQ game before are now streaming and doing Lets Plays of the game i have a feeling that it's selling really well.
I think there's currently a lot of hype that surrounds it but the question is how long it will maintain that hype among non-fans.

I have a question, are the preorder items available account wide or are they for one time use? If I start a game on save slot 1 and redeem the items that require codes, will they be available on save slot 2 when I start a new play through?

I haven't tested it but as long as you are in the same account i honestly don't see why not.

I don't know why they call Jades weapon a spear, it clearly looks like a naginata. I guess they didn't want to over do it with weapons

It'd be more accurate to call the entire category polearms. There are non-naginata looking weapons in the game though.

It just doesn't stop, does it?

Funny thing is, last year people kept recommending I read IGN to get away from this kind of "sex appeal is bad" writing. So I popped in to IGN and the first review I read was for Battlechasers and it took only one paragraph before the reviewer was complaining about the women in the game. Never went back.

Why a loli? :/
I dont have much issue with Veronica and her attitude kind of reminds me of her.

it just would have been nice to have naginatas in the game, since they are hardly never in games. And Japan has some strange loli fetish for some reason.

All the cotumes are in the game, no DLC. Its just some are from quests, some from crafting, and the one I got for Serna I bought at an equipment shop.

Can we please get a round of applause for the fact that this game has no dlc, season pass or microtransactions?

I'm so glad games like DQ11 and Octopath have no DLCs but with being said, there is nothing wrong with DLCs if it's done properly. Honestly Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had one of the best Expasdion Pass in JRPG. The support for this game has been pretty damn good and upcoming Story DLC is going to be like its own game thanks to how the gameplay going to very different than the base game.

Why buy DQXI then if you're just going to rush?
