This game is also on PC. When given the option, it also runs and plays better on the PC. All that aside, the game is awesome because there really isn't any other open world racing game that is matching this in terms of gameplay quality.

Agree with that but how likely is it that somebody who doesnt have a gaming PC will go out and buy a gaming pc just for this?

Why would they? There are more PC gamers than there are console gamers (facts). The point I'm trying to make is that this game isn't strictly a Xbox console exclusive. Microsoft opened this game up to the largest gaming audience. Which is a good thing.

Just FYI digitally there is no more distinction between pc and console for Microsoft games anymore. It‘s the same thing.

My point is that there’s no way to tell cause it‘s literally the same thing. At least for digital. I‘ve bought games on a windows pc and downloaded it remotely only on my xbox and never on my pc. The license no matter where you buy it is the same.
You would have to look at download statistics which I‘m sure Microsoft has data of.

Spider-man is pretty much different than FH4? Of course it is, one is 3rd person action adventure, other is racing game. Spider-man as good as FH4? Yes! Spider-man is a system seller? Yes!

Its well worth it you know. The way i look at it is theyre gonna support it for at least 2 years so its £40 per year, plus you get 2 expansions that, if Horizon 2 and 3 are anything to go off, will be top notch. AND you get all the extra cars plus vip benefits 2x race credits etc.

Ill easily put hundreds of hours into it.

I'm not one to often gush over games, I don't think, and I gotta say, this game is a fucking masterpiece. I just finished a session with a buddy and it was exhilarating. There's so much to do, so many cars and race types, and almost all of it is fun. So much fun.

I contacted them and asked if i will receive it on release day. They said no and sent me a download code for free. So i just got the game for free and saved 100€ / ~115$. As always great customer service by Amazon.

I usually love 60 FPS over 30 but with FH4 it's a bit different. The 30 FPS feel fluid compared to some other 30 FPS games and 4K + some other graphical improvements are great. I never ever thought i would prefer 30 FPS over 60 FPS mode on consoles, but here we are.

I believe the physics are rendered in 60, fps which probably what you see noticing. It's a nice touch.

They have been running at 360Hz since the Forza Motorsport 2. The first Horizon's engine also ran at 360Hz. Playground has stated the engine in Horizon 3 is a tweaked version of the Forza engine that was in Forza Motorsport 5. I imagine Horizon 4 is the same engine

Digital Foundry: You've spoken about the Forza physics model being employed in your game, updating with 360 samples per second. How did this system - and the other legacy code - square with being run within a 30FPS environment? Did any changes need to be made?

Andy Sage: It was important to us that we kept the physics running in the same way as Forza 4 even though the renderer was changing to 30FPS. Forza 4 already runs multiple physics updates per 60Hz frame, so when we halved the frame-rate we made sure the simulation was running twice as often per 30Hz frame to compensate. This means we keep the same lightning fast physics update. All of the other simulation systems, such as AI, were updated in the same way. We spent a lot of time profiling and testing that the behaviour remained consistent with Forza 4.

The only annoyance I have with it is if someone quits out of a multiplayer event/race, there seems to be no penalty. I hopped into an event with 2 randoms and both quit. I was well in the lead, but it just came up with a message saying that I'd failed the event, then it reset me back into the regular open world.

Try searching for it in the Store and make sure you're on the page for the regular version of the game, not the deluxe or ultimate edition.

You can also do it via the Store app on a Windows 10 PC. Go to the page for the regular version and an "Install on Xbox One" button will be there.

Using Xbox.com via a web browser is another option.

The second 2 options will only work if the console you want to install it on is set as your home Xbox.

I heard that a lot. I played through the demo with both modes and quality just won for me, but i maybe give it another try today with 60 fps. I'm still amazed by myself on how i can pick 30 over 60 fps.

The thing with 30FPS on the forza Horizon games is its alway solid and stable so feels very smooth. Great we now have the 60FPS option to

Indeed same here... Also played 30mins on the PC version on 30mins on the XBoxOne X version... actually preferred the PC just felt more responsive for some reason.. probably just me. (My PC is fairly modest by todays standards too Ryzen 5, 16GB memory and a GTX970).

30fps is great when you *never* play for too long at 60fps... also soon as you do any off road race at 60fps you really will never go back... just incredible. Looks great whatever mode you play this at though... stunning game.

Playing on unbeatable and ending up first most of the time. Despite the Buggy cross country races where I still get my ass kicked.

Having my first real session with it tonight... only got an hour with it this morning. Plays great although missing the competition type single player structure that FH2 had ... never played 3 so the single player game may have changed a bit in that.

Never mind, I restarted my Xbox and loaded it back up and all of a sudden it's looking back to normal. It's almost as if it was on performance mode without 60fps. I wonder if it's a bug or something? Anyways it's back to normal which is good I'm loving the game all over again

Yup. All MS first party exclusive content will be on game pass going forward too... (started with Sea Of Thieves). So yes including Crackdown 3 when released! Not only that it will stay on game pass (not like 3rd party games that will leave on occasion). Even sweeter with game pass is that you can play the games on PC too! (so long as the game is cross play compatible)

Listening to the gb cast they talked about clubs. Any way to join clubs outside of the game? Is it in game clubs or Xbox clubs. I'm playing mainly PC (and Jesus does winter look real on this game gatdamn) but didn't see any club stuff in the game and I'm working today so away from the game now.
