Horizon Zero Dawn on PC (Same guy that "predicted" Death Stranding)

If there is a 3 year lag or whatever, the brand and platform won't "die" in any way shape or form.
I'm not talking specifically about HZD. I say, that in general no good sense in issuance exclusives on the PC, and HZD as the first disturbing a bell. And yes, exclusives continue to work even in the long term, because a considerable number of people buy a console near the end of the life cycle with all the games they are interested in. A person can eventually be impressed and eventually just go to the console, because there are such games. Doesn't that make sense? And the release of exclusives on the PC will first worsen the sales of consoles and services, and then the quality of games, because the PC will not bring the desired profit, as if the exclusives remained within its own platform. I believe the PC is competitor to PlayStation, in Sony before used to think same too. It is unclear as it now with all these permutations. And here is deterioration in quality - precisely the that me worries. Not at all the actual release of exclusives on the PC. I may be wrong, but we live in a commercial world and any wrong decision will have consequences. I think releasing on PC Sony exclusives is a mistake. But in general, even if Sony with its console will cease to be that special corporation creating really outstaning games, and will begin to make cheap fast food - the world will not collapse. Just will not be the same choice and preference that was before. That's all.

Doubt the EGS part, Death Stranding is getting a Steam release, I see no reason why HZD wouldn't get one
Testing the waters and some epic deal to lessen the monetary risk.
But then again, even the idea of HZD coming to PC is kinda crazy...
Yeah, what a time to be alive.

I'm still on the fence about wether it's a good move for Sony, but only they can decide, I would not go as far as saying that they are right, in fact I tend to believe that they may very well be wrong.

I wonder if that may be part of the PS5 reveal strategy, to show how people need to spend to get the same level of performance with the PC version (or not, we have seen the potato mashers in action).

My personal feeling is that exclusive games are what makes a console shine - why would anyone get a PS1 or Sega Saturn if there were half decent versions of their exclusive games on PC? I'm not sure about the 8 and 16 bit generations, there were no decent hime computer gaming platform (they all missed something to handle console games of their time).

Detroit: Become Human is coming to PC exclusively on EGS though, might be the same type of deal there :goog_unsure:

Crucial? Critical? Life or death, you say?

Call the president. The fate of the world depends on exclusives. If Sony lets even one slide...God help us all.
Yes, there's pressure on developers on where to put their games for obviously reasons, exclusives are really valuable to consoles and gives them security blankets.

There's pressure on independent studios, but there's no pressure on studios owned by Sony, who's sole job is to please Sony by releasing games that make their console attractive.

For the record, I'd be thrilled if Horizon Zero Dawn came to PC, as it was a pretty good game and deserves to be seen by a wider audience.

This is a fallacy. Sony will make more by opening up their exclusives to the PC platform. They were, afterall, already on the PC to begin with -- just not sold as such. With new management, this will change.

H:ZD isn't the only game being "ported" to PC. The first sign of porting should have been noticed when Quantum Dreams games were announced. And then Death Stranding right before PS4 release. There will be more announced.

I don't agree with that. Won't make Sony more money by releasing their games on PC. This is a short-sighted miscalculation on your part. Sony intends to sell the PS5 better than it did with the PS4. Of course, the releases of exclusives on the PC will help this. Are you drunk?

Oh, shit, here we go again. "I know so much, but I won't say anything.".. Blah, blah, blah. Dude, stop acting like an insider. And why are your quotes in the word "ported"? Do you really think that PS4 is just a PC and there are no specific optimizations, and the game is just done on the PC and transferred to the console? Another nonsense, comrade Veteran. Don't tell me stories, please. Though after you with foam at a mouth on a resetera proved that new consoles will not bring any new graphics and that it already is now as in Control with RTX... I'm not surprised.
Also, stop comparing games from second-party studios to games from internal ones. Agreements are at very different levels. "No Kojima" and all that stuff, you know.
But okay, let's wait for the Game Awards and the official announcement.

Good because I want Spider-Man, God of War, Infamous Second Son, Horizon Zero Dawn, Last Guardian, and Gravity Rush 1 and 2 on my PC

Well, it would make my life easier, so if sony thinks that me not buying their consoles is good business, more power to them!

If you are only buying exclusives they probably do think that since hardware isn't where the money is made, it's software sales(mainly third party), and subscription services.

As long as it makes my life easier, I don't care how they make their money.

You are guessing about what Sony wants, but every news that's been released so far indicates the exact opposite.

You only have issues because you don't want to hear what's happening. I do have inside information. If I didn't, I wouldn't speak about it. It's just that simple. I don't "wish" anything. It is what it is. The reason I use "port" is because the games are already playable on the PC from the dev boxes. I know this how? Because of insider information. You don't have to believe I have information or not. When it comes out, then you'll get your facts. I have no horse in the race. I know that PC will get some love from Sony. It will be the best plaform to implement the creators vision. Not because I route for it, but because the PC has the hardware to get closer to it. Again, a fact and not a wish.

I only have my PS4 for the exclusives so this would be awesome... I don't have an xbox because the handful of its exclusives that I care for are already on PC

I'm totally fine with that. But why initially climb on the PC? Purpose?

You’re simply ignoring what others have already posted.

Multiple reasons:

One, by releasing exclusives to the PC Sony makes more money from people who have never purchased a PlayStation... people. like me, for example.

Two, you make people who don’t own a PlayStation think twice about that.

For example, I have no desire whatsoever to purchase a console. But would I purchase HZD for the pc? You bet I would. And my experience with HZD might be so good I’d consider buying a PS 5 to play HZD 2 immediately, without having to wait for the port.

But honestly, I don’t think there’s much point arguing with you. You seem determined not to listen to anyone.

Perhaps they gonna announce it on the game awards with Kojima co developing 1 or 2 hours worth of content for the pc version, plus a Sexier Aloy in kojima’s eyes, might get it in deep sale.

Oh no, here just a bunch of PC guys. To whom I was trying to explain something ... There’s even a personal, pocket-sized insider. "Sony fell in love with the PC" ... Some kind of incredible clowning.
You guys got so fooled, dreaming that even snot and tears of joy flowed from anticipation. So sweet and nice. Happily stay and abide in your naive dreams.

Again. I don't see why Sony would want to release PS5 games on PC. But I do understand that PS4 games, are ok. Everybody who wanted them on PS4 already bought them. So why not make some fast PCMR buck. And PC hardware is in much better state in 2020 than it was in 2016 and earlier. So it will run these pretty ok.

Yea, I agree. I don't even think PS5 development has started yet at some companies.

Another version of Sony games coming to PC. This was I believe on the day of Death Stranding releasing I'm guessing, Sony will start slow with the PC Ports and be somewhat selected but I"m guessing according to VFXVeteran VFXVeteran they changed their minds and they are open to anything so The Last of Us Part 1 and 2 could make their way over. Though as I've said they'll start slow Spider-Man might make the jump due to the IP/License being owned by Marvel and Sony would probably want to keep it lest Marvel decides to poach the developers of Jedi Fallen Order, or someone else to make Spider-Man games.
