My favorite game of the generation and one of the best games I've played ever. For free, if you're too stupid to not play this then I cannot pity you because stupidity of that magnitude is to be reviled, not pitied.
It also my favourite game of this generation but lets not call people "stupid" for not playing this game, it makes people not want to play the game.My favorite game of the generation and one of the best games I've played ever. This game is all about the story, the game play may not be so engaging and interesting but it does some very interetsing things in how itbegins merging the dfference game play types. Whats truly unique about this game is how it messes with you typical view and undertanding of what video games are. It does some cool 4th wall kinda shit and some mind blowing events happen that had me thinking for months after it. I truly think its something that has to be experienced. But they may not intrigue your interest if you just want to have fun and enjoy killing shit.Okay that's sucks to hear and shit like that is super annoying. It's not a matter of git gud it's a matter of making the game difficult by making it tedious. I don't like tedious.
I like to explore a lot and I play recklessly, don't care if I die because I save all the time. I have WAY less than zero interest in replaying an hours worth of game I already played.
SE doesn't give Yoko Taro same type of budget as Nomura or Tabata but Taro still manages to make amazing and unique games even with those limitations. This is why I don't care about high tech graphics or how much budget the game has, at end of the day it all depends on designers behind the game.Absolutely amazing game. You can tell in certain spots that it was made on a restricted budget, but it overcame those with fantastic combat, memorable story, and an amazing soundtrack.
We trash. Font want to dpend 12 quid and then show up on gp pc. I will wait a little longerSo, no love on PC Gamepass?
Yeah, me too, but I got the game on disc (because of the T-shirt - which, unfortunately, tore itself up pretty quickly, the Emil print was way too thick for the fabric used) and borrowed it to a friend later on - he's such a filthy hippie that I'd have to disinfect the disc and case under regular circumstances, not to mention now, so I won't try to get it back any time soon.Man, all this talk makes me want to replay Automata all over again. I adore that game so much!!

Looked at PSN and if the game+DLC edition would have been like 20€ I would have bought it again. Alas, it's 40€ - perhaps I'll just listen to the soundtrack.
IT'S A JOKE. People like to call GamePass service as something which devaluate games, which is complete bullshit obviously.Opening up a game to a wider audience isn’t devaluing it.
Games weren’t devalued in previous generations when players rented them from places such as Blockbuster.
My car isn’t devalued because I own it, yet others lease it
What a ridiculous attitude to hold.
Well fanboys are also pretty flat with their trolling, so you cannot get really creative. The joke is a bit flat.
I have never really liked games that play like Devil May Cry, Castlevania (3D), Rygar (3D), I've always called them "combo button mashers".
When I first saw this game, I was interested up until I saw the gameplay, it was fast paced "combo button mashing" (IMO) and lost interest.
However wherever I went (online) I kept hearing/seeing people saying how it was an awesome game, this continued for a long time, until one day an online store had the game on heavy discount, I decided to "well I'll try it out".
It was one of the better things I've done. Now truthfully... I'm not very good on these type of games "combo button mashers" so I had to play on the easiest setting on many parts, and normal on the rest to even get by. But by god this game is one of the first games in a very VERY long time where I did NOT skip/fast forward through any story elements or cut-scenes. The story being told is really really THAT good, and I didn't want to miss anything said.
Absolutely one of the best games I've played/owned on PS4.
Edit:
I'm even thinking of buying the game again -> Nier: Automata Game of the Yorha Edition
Opening up a game to a wider audience isn’t devaluing it.
In that case, if game is already turned into profit, why not post it on GamePass, so you hype people for potential new game? I hyped me definitely and I would not buy it otherwise. It does devalue it because its just turns it into "product" to feed a service. Its commodification.
The game has already shipped 4.5m uniits across 3 platforms, it doesn't need a wider audience ffs.

I guess I understand you, to an extent, but I don't have any other feeling if I downloaded from GP and when I pay for that. I have enough resources to buy any game, without thinking about it, so it makes zero difference. GP is great because of curated list of games and it basically shove those games down my throat. From xbox dash, to notification on my phone and it's just easy to click on download. I try a lot of games which I would not even look at those game's review. I don't like all of them, but I find a lot of good games, which would be otherwise out of my radar. Case in point, this game and Kona, from recent memory. I buy both of them. For me it's service for dicovery. I planning on buying Ace Combat 7, which I chec....Czeched on GP also. For discovery GP is amazing.I'm not a believer that giving people access to everything is a good thing for them or the business. A degree of scarcity is important in giving experiences value.
People get jaded and complacent when served a unending smorgasbord of stuff. Although they are watching/playing more titles, their enjoyment and appreciation of the stuff tends to be superficial and short-lived.
Another problem is that when stuff is "just there" there's very little incentive to persevere past any initial hurdles or hiccups, because there's always going to be something more instantly gratifying and there are always the same number of hours in the day.
In my view, long term noone is going to gain from what amounts to facilitating gluttony.
I bought it and still didn't like it. Blaming GP for people not liking the game seems a little weak.Nier Automata is a poor fit for Gamepass. It is a game that requires investment, and taking your time to really immerse yourself in the world. What I am seeing on another forum I follow is that people who are trying the game with Gamepass are playing it a bit fast, and focusing on every negative aspect they find, as if they needed to find a good reason to stop playing and try the next Gamepass game.
If people are happy with Gamepass, then good for them. I am a person who plays one game at a time, and believe that the time NOT spent playing is just as important as the time spent playing for games like Nier Automata. People have so many games available to them, they don't even give the game a chance. Had they bought it 50$, it would probably be different.
Just as when people started discovered emulation, so many games where available at once, and the slightest problem, bug or thing they did not like, they would simply give and move on to another game.
I hope it will still help Nier a bit, but I don't think it is the right way to sell such games.
Great answer, I felt like it was necessary.I bought it and still didn't like it. Blaming GP for people not liking the game seems a little weak.
Most welcome. Thanks for sticking around the stream and making it fun for meWow, this game is really fucking good! Thanks mr Mista for stream, which hyped me up and I played it for 8 hours straight. Mind you my nerves are still recovering from brutal surgery and this is my longest session in year. Need to get some sleep. Play this game people!
Well no problem, thanks for streaming : ) At this point you are my favorite streamer : DMost welcome. Thanks for sticking around the stream and making it fun for me
To be fair, the only place you're likely to die in the first hour is right at the end. Which probably makes it worse, now that I think about it. That's where I died. I was seething.I bought this game a few weeks ago but still haven't gotten around to playing it, reading about having to play multiple times to get the 'true/good' ending and no save point for the first hour is just...
You can play it on easy with automode, it's fine. There is not cheevos tied to the difficulty, if you care about that and it's breeze. You can bump difficulty at any time : )I bought this game a few weeks ago but still haven't gotten around to playing it, reading about having to play multiple times to get the 'true/good' ending and no save point for the first hour is just...

Oh this is too much for me. Thank you my bratrWell no problem, thanks for streaming : ) At this point you are my favorite streamer : D
Sadly, I cannot write this in arabic, so sorry about that. For me it's just some fancy caligraphic shapes which I don't think I can point out each chracter. You must be genius to know what does it say and on the top of that, know normal alphabet. Well I already accepted, that I am mentally less fortunate : DOh this is too much for me. Thank you my bratr

Its the hardest language in the world for a reason ;pSadly, I cannot write this in arabic, so sorry about that. I know, but lets not get cocky : DIts the hardest language in the world for a reason ;p
So,
I paid quite a bit of my own money for Nier Automata, but I very much disliked the experience.
I played Ori WotW (not exactly a game without challenges..) for free via GP, and it's now one of my favorite games of all times.
This is just a random example from my own experience. So obviously I can't fully agree with your notion. I can't see much negative about GP and "free games", I think it's a great service for most people.
That’s incorrect, Route B plays mostly like Route A but you play as 9S and with new story elements and new side quests but after that it’s whole new chapter.I have to play through 3 or 4 times to get the "good ending." Through the same areas? If so that is super lame. I just started out and am at a resistance camp. It's OK so far. There are multiple areas that are big enough to run through but inexplicable invisible walls stop you. Can't you draw a board across the door or something?
