as in? what part of their studios did not grow grass roots wise with proper time, management, new hires etc to then be what they are today and successful. Where has MS had growth with their own studios? If anything old studios that once left and had IP's under different studios which used to be pillars are no longer as strong as they were such as gears, halo, no idea what to expect from fable etc.Konami is pretty much dead outside of the actual IPs they have. They gutted their talent a long time ago. But I doubt Sony would be able to buy up the IPs without also buying Konami along with them.
Also the fact this is something "fans" are spurring on is both retarded and selfish. These companies aren't making these sort of buys because of console war fanboy Twitter BS, they're doing what's best for their financial bottom lines. These mentally-stunted kids need to grow up for a change xD.
So tell me, how does it feel to "hate" having logic and common sense in your posts?
They have great IP's but Kojima and all the talent is already aligned with Sony.
If they could do a deal to get the IP rights for games, then it would be nice.
I don't think Kojima would be very happy with making another MGS but Bluepoint could remaster 1-4.
...why though? Konami has a lot of B-tier franchises, but Castlevania/Contra/Metal Gear/Silent Hill/Suikoden are all Sony level franchises to some degree. And who doesn't want a PS5 4k Rumble Roses????????Sony's top tier studios are not going to work on Konami IP's so forget that fantasy.
Personally loved DS, was my GOTY last year. Not for everyones taste....At best Kojima give Sony that overpriced Delivery simulator that rightfully flopped hard. It would be par for the course for them spending more money buying up Konami's stale leftovers
That some pretty sour taste, brother. But to each their own if you felt your money was well spent.Personally loved DS, was my GOTY last year. Not for everyones taste....
I don't really think there's any comparison between Zenimax and Konami, but it would be great to see SOMEONE do something with their legendary IPs. Hell, maybe Sony could even add a clause to give them exclusive pachinko rights. Everybody wins.
Would you want Sony to buy Konami? I'd love to see someone make a decent Castlevania or Metal Gear, and we all know it's not going to be Konami.
Edit: Here's a story on it: https://gamerant.com/sony-buy-konami/
Exactly. Now, Konami has only IPs but no real game studios.lolwut. konami is hot garbage. sony already their best asset, kojima
? Both Silent Hill and Metal Gear have been on like every platform imaginable.
I wonder how much Sony would have to pay for the IPs of MGS and Silent Hill only.
They should totally do, so we can see MS retaliating yet again so that Sony can strike back until there is no third party studio left.
This is kind of laughable. I love Metal Gear and Castlevania as much as the next guy but franchise sales to date aren’t even close to DOOM, Fallout, and Elder Scrolls. Even Capcom wouldn’t come close. Hell maybe not even Squeenix?
Only Monster Hunter would be enough to sink or swim as an exclusive, fucking game keeps selling a fuckton every gen. Vita didn't have one and it bombed...Sony doesn't need a 10-15million seller, they already have several of those.
Square and Capcom would be huge considering they would be acquiring Final Fantasy, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and Tomb Raider (?), Kingdom Heart IP and many other successful IPs.
Um....alright then I guess. Incredibly pointless and utterly arbitrary distinction, but sure why not? They are Playstation first and foremost.
Yeah, I just don't trust that the direction of Microsoft's first-party titles would be a good fit for Konami IPs. I think Sony would do a better job making a Castlevania, Metal Gear, or even Bomberman, and it might be the only chance to get Kojima on Silent Hills.I think this is a great point. Konami isn’t doing shit with those ips. It would be nice to see someone do something. Either Sony or MS buying them would be fine with me.
I have to assume given their output that they don’t have much In the way of studios these days, so you would basically be buying ips and A back catalogue, and your studios would have to actually make the games. If that’s the case, Microsoft would make sense there.
