They're in the box but you can get awesome 2.1 hdmi cables on Amazon for under £20.
Are they certified?

MCC and Gears both will support 4k 120, not sure why yall acting like it will only be Touryst
Also, The Series X comes with 2.1, the Series S does not
its on their website
Do you need a long HDMI cable? If not, don't really bother. Optic fiber HDMI 2.1 seems the best as well. But no need to, this one have 5 stars rating out of 5,326 votes!
HDMI 2.1?
I already have one. Premium with certification. GE brand. Very rare and expensive to get in Brazil, but looks like I'll trade as soon as I get a PS5.
PS5 came with a cheap Ultra HDMI cable?
Wtf microsoft are you fo real?
If there is one game game then it is already required lol
Xbox Series S can't produce 4K@120Hz HDR, so no need for an HDMI 2.1. The HDMI 2.0 can make 1080p-1440p@120Hz AFAIK, which is good for 4K@60Hz HDR which is beyond its reach as well.
Thanks for that reminder I think I had a blonde moment.
This is factually incorrect.
Ok but that had nothing to do with my post though. I think you meant to quote my other post. Both will have HDMI 2.1 cable, it's too cheap anyway for them to provide it, they won't give you gold-coated ones anyway.
Xbox Series X HDMI chipset bandwidth is 40Gbps instead of 48Gbps though, no details about PS5's if the same or full 48Gbps.

I was referring to a poster claiming that it's required. That is incorrect.
The fact that sony charges $70 for it's dualsense controller and doesn't even give you a USB-C cable makes me think otherwise.yeah. You want a 48 gbps hdmi cable to handle 2.1 features needed bandwidth. I’m sure both consoles will come packed with one
you’re not going to get atmos from arc. You need earc
It'll be included, but it's not required if you're not interested in 4K@120Hz mode (doesn't mean 120fps, but higher refresh rate = better input lag), ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate, which saves GPU power from using VSYNC but still adds latency overall to fight tearing).
Maybe you already know all this and more, I believe.
If not who makes the best HDMI cords? Also my sound bar uses 2.0 HDMI , I'm sure running the 2.1 from my new system through my soundbar won't produce the desired effect. Will I have to upgrade my whole sound system for maximum advantage? My soundbar does supports Dolby atmos.

Just because they've always ripped off the costumer doesn't make it right. It has USB cable, you're confused from not having a cable with every controller, which doesn't make sense as it never been like that to begin with:
I know a bit, but I'll defer to your knowledge as you seem more technical that I am. I don't have a TV that can take advantage of it anyway.
I worry more about picture quality and HDR on my TV's as opposed to frame rate. That's what monitors are for.

I like my OLED's. Not sure I would consider a Sony.If you already have a good 4K HDR tv that's HDMI 2.0 you'll be 90-99% satisfied with it, trust me. I might try out those 4K@120Hz modes if they're attached to higher than 60fps only. But if 4K@120Hz would work even with 30fps games then that's actually a great tech to have to push input lag down to be as fast as monitors in around 5-7ms.
Here is a Sony XH90 (X900H) talking about it:
Still, you don't really need to over think about it, it's a luxury to have, but not a necessity to get full satisfaction from next gen games.
Xbox controllers come with no batteries, not much buzz about it.
Thats not true mine came with 2 AA Duracell batteriesIf you already have a good 4K HDR tv that's HDMI 2.0 you'll be 90-99% satisfied with it, trust me. I know. I was saying I have arc. Not earc. Don’t you still have to go into your tv and out to get 2.1 benefits?
I was on about the Atmos sound only but yes you've highlighted something hadn't thought about. It may pass through but not the 2.1 features. So you’ll get sound, but you won’t be able to use 120fps and usually vrr etc
1440p at 120fps needs only Premium cables (18Gbps).120 FPS alone, without 4K,still Needs 2.1
So 1080 or 1440p @120FPS is next gen
You can buy a Monoprice 48Gbps cable.Use the cable that comes with the console. If you need a longer cable, you should wait until certified cables are available. Manufacturers can take 18gbps cables and sell them as 48gbps cables.

Well the PS4 Pro came with a 6-ft (2 meters) HDMI cable (I just checked), so I can only expect the same with the PLAYSTATION 5.
And for those wondering, Yes they are HDMI 2.1 cables, because it says 8-K HDR on the PS5 retail box.
Depends because there are some variables. The only thign I want confirmed is whether the 'Premium' cables will support VRR on 4K/60 pretty much. I'm getting some recabling done and it's running through walls etc. What cable would you say I'd need with a PS5 and Sony KD65XH900H with a distance of 6m? I really want 4:4:4 and VRR
Series S doesn’t need a Ultra cable... Premium is enough for 1440p 120Hz VRR 4:4:4 12bits.Wtf microsoft are you fo real?
Cheap or expensive works the same way.I already have one. Premium with certification. GE brand. Very rare and expensive to get in Brazil, but looks like I'll trade as soon as I get a PS5.
PS5 came with a cheap Ultra HDMI cable?
Cheap or expensive word the same way.
I mean both will pass identical signals.
Do you make travels with the cable? I mean you are used to take the cable in bags between travels. For you yes, for me less headache.
Its all about girth for me!No need to buy anything though, unless you need that extra length then probably consider fiber HDMI 2.1 cables.
Did you make travels with the cable?
This is hilarious. I have no idea why though.Did you make travels with the cable?
Yes, but I don't believe it's certified. No way to know if it actually is a 48Gbps cable without the QR code. You can buy a Monoprice 48Gbps cable.
This is hilarious. I have no idea why though.
I like my OLED's. Not sure I would consider a Sony.
Does VRR work without HDMI 2.1?
Wrong, HDTVTest showed Freesync and VRR work from an Xbox One X.No, it's part of HDMI 2.1 feature set.
Not true. You can get atmos via arc as dd+ bitstream, earc allows lossless atmos.you’re not going to get atmos from arc. You need earc
Wrong, HDTVTest showed Freesync and VRR work from an Xbox One X.
Wouldn’t it need to be forced?Like on pc? Otherwise you need 2.1 anyway, no?1440p at 120fps needs only Premium cables (18Gbps).
1080p 120fps probably runs even with High Speed (9Gbps) cable one.
The devices didn’t know which type of cable you are using... the cable is not tied to any HDMI standard... it just have a bandwidth limitation.Wouldn’t it need to be forced?Like on pc? Otherwise you need 2.1 anyway, no?
Oh, that makes more sense. That I do not know, I didn't get that far into it, TV is pretty much new.
The devices didn’t know which type of cable you are using... the cable is not tied to any HDMI standard... it just have a bandwidth limitation.
It just need to your TV and console be HDMI 2.1 compatible.
