Actually, it's probably less-than 5. And no, you're not one of them. In fact, I've only seen one of those guys in the Ban/Review thread once. He whined a lot and mods didn't cater to him, so he went back to doing whatever it is he does here. The regulars in this thread are pretty cool. I don't really like seeing anyone banned but there were three that just ironically offed themselves within 2-weeks of eachother that I really couldn't stand.*Prays he's on this list*

I probably shouldn't use the word "list." It's just a mental note I take on a certain 3 or so users that have been particularly caustic on all threads I read them in for the short time I've been a member. I have no intent of reporting them. Like I said, if my predictions are right...they'll eventually end up on the ban list. I love creative trolls here, too. We have plenty and they make GAF enjoyable. These guys could only dream to be respected trolls. But yeah, no lists. I'll try to give them some positive reaction scores and be anonymous about it. I really don't wish anyone to be banned here. Everyone's been pretty cool. Back on topic...Ban/Justice Review.

Joking aside. I don't like to see people get banned either. Amusing as it is to have witnessed the firestorm of bans the last few days I'd rather people stuck around and maybe gave Gaming a chance versus Troll themselves into a perm.

Indeed. Can be about others plataforms as well or politics, pc, sales, etc... The console wars of Sony and Xbox have reduce since two years ago, but of course would be the back at full force after next gen came so is kinda like the trolling is all about that, but in reality thats because pretty much the recent effort between the trolls today is about those two consoles.

Maybe it was a mistake (or maybe not) because someone didn't interpret my post the way I meant it to be, which was just as light hearted banter for a laugh.
Anyways yeah, sorry for being a PITA. It wasent my intention. I just take it very personally when I feel like I'm being attacked and I instinctively go on the counter attack twice as hard. I will do my best to try not to do that in the future.

Making stupid bait threads isn't cool, but suspecting the enemy to be behind every post, tree or bush isn't either. If you have enough interest you can even steer in in the direction you want, or at least give it a new direction.

But as an observer of gaming forums I see why he may have a line he has drawn.The reason your website keeps going through cycles of normalcy alternating with abusive echo chamber is largely because of you. You're the common denominator. You seem determined to resist any kind of objective standard for moderation, and then surround yourself with people like the ones in this thread that will tell you 'up is down' as long as it is what you want to hear. These same people that go on about both sides being welcome, and make speeches about transparency and reversing permanent bans will tell you up is down as long as you make it known that's the way the wind is blowing. You'd do yourself a real favor to listen to the tiny minority of people that actually have enough character to disagree with you out loud, before you wake up in a few years in the same place you were before.
You didn't document at all what he was banned for, and you went to a perm immediately. I doubt he did a single thing against the rules here worth even a warning since you couldn't answer the question at all or link to a post. That guy took more abuse on here than anyone, and just remained calm and mild-mannered the entire time.
Almost everyone you're left with in this thread either has no consistency or integrity to tell you that you were wrong, or they're too scared to say it to your face because the bans are becoming more erratic and unpredictable. This is the tamest dad joke I've ever seen. For one slight moment, with Biden looking ever so slightly like he may be the winner, the perpetually-mocked and emotionally-muted TaySan slightly enjoys himself with the mildest, meekest, faintest ribbing I've ever seen; and it's not even on this website.
TaySan is not without flaw obviously, like anyone. I barely even talked to him. I hardly agreed with him on anything and have very little in common with him. But that's the whole point. He was able to post in discussions with just about anyone and never lose his cool. I never got the impression he was weak. The guy never talked back to or insulted anyone, and your mods call him an "obstacle" and prone to derailing. It's honestly the opposite, and the guy was possibly the most focused, and disciplined poster on here. In the end, that's why you had to ban him over an emotional reaction, since he never broke the rules.
Whatever ideal this site pretends to have - valuing the ability to talk calmly to people you disagree with - TaySan had that more than almost anyone here. What this place really incentivizes is cliques, echo chamber opinion, and constant abuse for any thought dissidents. You'll get more of what you incentivize.
This forum became a total scum pond of ideology, from people with extreme left wing, SJW views, where mods and posters ran amouk, banned people for their opinions and generally turned what was a gaming forum into a Young Turks YouTube comment section.
The same thing is happening over a Reee, so I can understand why he would never want the forum to head down that path again, and might be a little proactive to move people on that want to take the forum down that path again.
Now I might be totally wrong, and Evilore calls me a flog and temp bans me for speaking on his behalf, but that's how I read the situation.
And don't be under any illusion, there is far, far, far more freedom of political speech here than at Ree.
Want to test that? Go and make a thread on Ree saying that you are disappointed that Trump lost, and you thought he did a good job, and let's see how quickly you are banned.
If someone made a thread here saying they are happy Biden won, and you weren't calling for Trump to die etc as the left love to do, you won't be banned.

I think if you start with the mindset of “who wants to do a bunch of work after/before actual work all while never getting thanked or paid AND getting harassed by that same community?” then your question answers itself.
