I cry about Xbox and hate PlayStation.
Lol, what are people talking about in here that PC is hard to use?

- Download a Storefront (steam is good enough)
- Download DS4 Windows or use Xbox Controller Plug and Play (for any other client if they don't support controllers officially yet)
- Update Drivers for your GPU every other month
- Buy and Download game
- Play it like a console on Ultra Settings

What's the issue?
Depends on what kind of troubleshooting.

My PC kept freezing few weeks ago, ask around on reddit, unable to identify the problem, thought it was my hardware problem.

Last week I found out its not hardware issue, its actually caused by software NZXT CAM and it only affects AMD CPUs.
This solution is actually provided by one of the random poster. Had to download a BETA version to fix the problem.

Some issue you can easily fix by looking at basic troubleshooting on forums, but if you encounter some very rare issue like what I mention above, its a headache to fix it.

here is the proof:

As expected, very few will switch. This is an enthusiast forum so if the pros of PC gaming were important to someone they would already own and use one. Among the general public even fewer will switch.
That’s an almost hilariously flattering way to frame the sheer amount of dumb brand loyalty going on in the thread.

We are past mere fanboyism at times.

I was a PC gamer back in the College and University days. Now, I probably have no time (maybe money too) to build another PC rig. Not really a priority for me right now, since I have two young kids.

I love gaming on my PlayStation 4, PS have been my go to consoles since the PS1, can't wait to get my hands on the PS5 soon.

However, PC gaming will always be in my soul. I can't wait to jump back in someday. Not because of I want to play console games at the highest settings, but more like for playing the PC centric titles.

I've been a Playstation + PC Gamer since the end of the PS 2 Era. I even bought gamepass a month ago and still buy exclusive games on the PS5. I know its shocking. The world isnt black and white. You can enjoy more than one thing. You can support more than one company.

Just play the games you enjoy and whatever platform best suits you needs and dont be a fucking dick about it. I actually think PS5 and PC+gamepepass and quite the good deal. Though PC hardware prices are dreamlike right now. Nightmares I mean.

I'm a PC gamer first and foremost and, to me, PS is the natural console extension of PC gaming.. that's just me, I've thought it for two decades. A fabricated narrative that xBox is now the console arm of PC gaming convinces me about as much as the narrative that TFLOPs meant something did

are in a big trouble
Just recently upgraded to a 3080ti.

I have a gaming pc, ps5 and a switch. Dam my gaming addiction

Not saying you have to fully 100% switch over (just about everyone multiplats some amount). But lets say youre a main PS gamer now, at what point would you switch to PC?

But a major list of possible PS games might come to PC at some point (probably handled by Nixxes). But that list includes all kinds of unreliable listings of other games that are cancelled or not shown up yet.

This is probably my last PS console. I will go the Gamepass subscription model with the next Xbox console as Microsoft have a clear future gaming strategy or a gaming laptop or PC.

Why does the pc master race always behave like a cult? Why do they want to convert console gamers? Just accept the fact that some of us don’t like pc gaming with the problems it comes with and will never exchange consoles to pc.

If i wanted to jump to PC gaming i would have done so long ago.

I prefer consoles for very specific reasons that PC can't give me.

I've been gaming on PC for years. That still doesn't stop me from buying and enjoying consoles.
Maybe I'm not an elitist and can enjoy different platforms. Consoles will always have that pick up and play factor.

You forgot you need to build it first and then install the OS. The 2nd factor is the cost.

I'm currently Playstation and PC already. I will only convert if every single PS game I'm interested in goes PC which just ain't happening. The reality is that it's old games I've played years ago so far.

I used to say that but plug an HDMI and open steam big picture and it is the same experience except the ridiculous prices and a wider range of games to choose from. Now thanks to Sony strategy you can also play their first party games on PC.

You still need to bother with settings, drivers and actually building your PC because you never know when a game will play and when another will not and these are all stuff i hate.

Also i don't like having to wait years to play Sony's exclusives.

The only reason to prefer a console over a gaming PC would be for console exclusives (which are starting to be brought to PC more frequently), or finances, or friends with consoles playing games without cross-play. There is no other reason to want to stay with a console instead of a (good) gaming PC.
Is that right? Why is it PC gamers seem to think they know what is best for everyone?
I sometimes hate playing on my PC because it's not comfortable to be sat at a desk all the time. Consoles are far more convenient and easier to use in a living space. The cost of a PC is a joke at the moment.

For me it's about price. I live in Brazil and an equivalent PC is 3x more expensive than a PS5, which is already expensive. Once it's cheaper, as the generation progresses, and if all the games can be played on a modest PC or gaming laptop there will be no reason to own a PS5.

It's a bad strategy for Sony in my opinion, since I'll certainly spend much less money for the games on PC and they won't get the full cut as they do on PSN.

That's the reason I didn't buy an Xbox One: played It's games cheaply on PC. It's also why I don't bother getting a Switch, since I can emulate. have a 1650 laptop right now, which is enough for 1080p60 in the games I care about. Bought a PS5 for next generation games and Sony exclusives.

Complains about how much of a hazzle pc gaming is and has amd hardware.

Yup, checks out.

I wonder how many who says pc gaming is complicated has amd instead of Intel and nvidia.

Who would've thought, very few seem in the mind to switch. I suppose those PC ports of former PS exclusives aren't "devaluing the brand" after all.

AMD> intel though.

This has nothing to do with AMD or intel, both applies to PC Gaming.

We are talking about PC Gaming, alot of people using AMD cpus now.

If it turned out that all PS exclusives were going to come to PC, I'd probably go 100% PC gaming, because I can run mine through my tv just as easily as I can my Ps5. Wouldn't really see the point in having more than one box, when one can play everything.

Mind you, consoles are more convenient, so I'd probably keep the Ps5 anyway, just for the games that didn't run well on PC.

I've been playing on PC since forever with consoles always being a secondary platform, but I left those after PS3 already due to how low-spec the PS4/XB1 were. Maybe if the PS360 gen wasn't so damn long with games in the last 2 years permanently running at 20-26 FPS I wouldn't mind, but I left the generation with a really really bad taste and didn't want jump on such experience ever again.

Also GT used to be a huge if not sole reason for getting a PS console, but with GT5&6 being a disappointment and then GT:S not having any career mode at all even, I just skipped the PS4/XB1 gen entirely. And that being said, I'll get a PS5 when GT7 launches, I already know I'll put countless hours into it.

But yeah, PS games coming to PC is a huge deal, and that's where I'll be playing them, you're not locked to 30FPS o begin with, and with Sony's recent anti-consumer approach Steam or EGS are simply better places to get those games from.

to be perfectly honest

the main reason why i got a gaming pc was to play Half Life Alyx

but since PSVR2 is coming out theres a good chance that it will be ported to PS5

if u have the patience to wait a year or two then i guess u probably should do so

The irony is the biggest PS fans by the end of this gen will be the ones who own both a PC and a PS5 and buy the best versions of the games wherever they are available, even double dipping.

On a comfy sofa with surround sound and a large OLED screen (with proper HDR support that many PC games seem to lack) - yes, it is a change of scenery.
Exactly how I play my PC, it's great.

i own a Mac M1. I can’t care less about Windows PC and its problems honestly!

do people know most of PS5 games have a 60 fps option even at 4K? Is it a gaming forum for hardcores? 🤡

Why do PC Gamers care what platform other people play on? How droll.
I think this is about all the doom people keep saying will happen if more ps games goto PC quickly.
Using both as always. Pc is pain don't do it lol
It's only a pain if you don't know if. Once you know it, it's easy.
This is just a stealth PCMR thread, isn't it?

Never.

PC is always my third platform after Sony and Nintendo.

Sony aren't stupid enough to release games only for people to switch to PC and not buy Playstation. If that does happen watch the releases stop on PC.

All the PC is getting is last gen scraps which have met their purpose on console sales wise.

I’m not going anywhere, I like the convenience of a console. I played solely on PC for many years but now there’s really no need to other than when playing RTS. I can’t say I miss PC gaming really, other than in FPS titles, mouse will always be superior to an analog stick.

No, never.

Used to play on PC for over 10 years, then switched to consoles about 8 years ago and not going back.
Consoles are just incredibly convenient and cheaper these days to play on if you know what you are doing.

Why would a PS4/5 gamer care about pc? Weird question, unless you assume that everybody have gaming pc.

Even if PS games would be offered for free after 2-3 years on pc I would not care.

To turn into PC gamer I would need:
Build gaming pc from zero = 1500-3000€
Buy monitor = 200-500€
buy a desk for pc = 10-100€

Way too expensive. I have ultrabook for pc stuff and consoles for gaming.

While pc gaming have come far, I just dont want to waste a second to some stupid shit like buggy drivers etc. I used to game on PC until I got ps4 and console gaming just works. with PC (steam games) my friend group always had some issues with multiplayer games, either serveriside or someone had some incompatibility problems. Some games worked well, some didnt.

What I could do, is keep my PS5 as main system and build some mini-itx setup from used parts + use it on my 55" oled for certain PC only exclusives.

I dont care about +60Hz which is just waste of resources, brute forced by high end PCs.

But what I will probably do, is get used series x as it shares big part of pc library.

Probably just an answer to all the people crying that sony's first party pc ports will kill playstation and thus shouldn't be done. If this thread is any indication, none of the doom they're claiming will happen of ps players abandoning the platform in droves will actually happen.
