I never played the original 7. I absolutely loved 7 remake. One of my fav games now.
I am contemplating playing the original 7.... but maybe better I dont
Do I have to play crisis core remaster?
OG 7 is fine its turn based and looks dated for a ps1 3d game could play it on emulator with the remaster patch
crisis core only needs to be played if you care about zack no idea if he will be in ff7R2 but it seems likely

I'm increasingly of the opinion that long shows are just a really bad idea.

The relentless visual onslaught is deadening, and despite the visuals being so good technically almost across the board, after awhile I find myself feeling that they don't have any real "wow" factor.

I suspect the problem is that as things get increasingly realistic, everything is inevitably going to end up looking somewhat samey. And with that, the formulaic nature of the games themselves really stands out.

It seems to me the things people reacted to most strongly were the ones where there's already an existing attachment to the characters or franchise.

thats the bare minium and im going off of what i wanted based on the leaks and being as realistic as possible and even then some of those games were already confirmed.

"Leaks". You mean the RUMORS? It is your fault for believing crap people pulled from their arse.

he sure is in 7 remake and I had no idea what's going on.
I just thought it's Cloud with black hair lol

There is no real evidence of this. The only source is a non-name failed gaming "journalist" trying to get eyes on his patreon.
There tracking it by JP retailers its like when they say software sales for ps5 in japan are down they have the numbers when even yoshi P is saying yea we may make our money back or beaks even months down the road they know.

JP Retailers are a subset of a subset of a subset. They are about as accurate of an extrapolation as wondering how many preorders are in Germany.

uses 'M$' - What year is it? Not 2002.
I’m shocked that Kojima and death stranding 2 didn’t show anyone have news on how far development is

2 "big" showcase events down and I feel like almost nothing exciting got announced.

Like sure they have shown good looking games like FF7 Rebirth, Alan Wake 2, Spider Man 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Dragons Dogma 2 and Space Marine 2.
But it's all just new trailers of games that got announced a while ago

So far this year has been really underwhelming in terms of actual new announcements.

No, play the original 7. It makes everything in remake/rebirth hit really REALLY hard.

Its only 25 hours. And there’s no tedious gameplay/grinding required to progress through the story. (Unlike FF6)

I had a little bit mixed feelings after playing through remake’s ending. But now after seeing the two rebirth trailers. Im all in.

PS. I’ve read your forspoken comments! I’m going to give the game a honest try when i order my ps5 end of the year. Good vibes man!

Is this your assumption?
I'm more sure this game is confirmed to be PS5 only.

Interviews with Yoshinori Kitase, Tetsuya Nomura, and Mariko Sato, who approach further content such as "FFVII Reverse" and "CC FFVII R" announced in the "FFVII" 25th anniversary special program
So there was a reason for that. By the way, "FFVII Rebirth" was decided to be PS5 only from the beginning. Could you tell us the reason for that?

Mr. Kitase: Of course, the quality of graphics is the same, but the speed of accessing the SSD is also important. If you played the original version, I think you can imagine it to some extent, but from now on, the story will progress in the vast world after escaping Midgar. In "FFVII Rebirth" as well, of course, we're going to draw a world that expands from here on out, so the loading stress is going to be a big bottleneck in that regard. In order to clear that point and play the world comfortably, I felt that the PS5 specs were necessary.

I don’t know why everyone hasn’t just picked up the Direct format.

It can’t be that hard to emulate, but obviously it is because Sony sort of try but can’t come close.

I didn’t even realise this was on today, I wouldn’t have watched it anyway, this guy has always given me the creeps.

I don't know. I actually feel pretty good about these events. Seeing trailers for things that are coming out in weeks or months like TV, movies, and music. It's a refreshing sign of maturity catering more towards things you can have now or soon. I'm pretty sure gaming will grow more doing it this way that living under a constant cycle of waiting years for the next big thing.

In other news, a totally sane person has a totally sane take on the SGF:

I can't imagine how self-centered and shitty your general outlook has to be to watch a presentation and your immediate reaction is to scribble an article to highlight that there were no women onstage and pretend that this is a slight against all womankind.

...Oh, the writer used to write for Kotaku? That explains it!

Why was this show so long? I understand indie people work hard and should be acknowledged but I really just can’t watch a bunch of titles being shown for niche games from people I’ve never heard of with unimpressive graphics at this point. In a show like this. This thing was about on par with the Sony show, maybe slightly better due to Alan wake and FF7 but waaaay too much filler

I stopped watching these shows live because of how long and boring I find them. I just watch the VOD after it ends so I can skip 90% of it and get to the end of the show in like half an hour.

ff16 has low pre orders and even when they asked the JP audience which game they wanted more ff7R2 won hands down.

That's not true.....and even if it was, games companies don't magically decide to drop a well edited trailer out of nowhere because of what you stated. It takes months of planning.

Yeah I mean I never watch live - I watched about 15 minutes of it live and was like “why am I watching this”

I've always watched replays. Nintendo directs are the only ones I can watch end to end because they flow quickly. I end up watching them on replay anyways since they are usually scheduled too late for my timezone.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Bruh, he got Nicholas fucking CAGE on stage. *AND* surprisingly, Nick came off extremely well-versed, not like a celebrity just trotted on stage for their face. He sounded legit passionate about being in the game.

Who, in their right mind, can say this was a bad show ?
