Tom Warren "I'm not a gaming journalist lol. Also, lighten up."

There's so many shills for xbox. The funniest think is they barely seem to actually play on their xbox. People have checked their achievements and they barely earn any for the games they shill for. They're just paid by Microsoft to promote the xbox brand on social media platforms. You can tell its artificial. They're not real fans.
If you pay attention, you'll notice that the number of people claiming to be Xbox fans on the internet is much higher than in real life, completely disproportionate when you consider how sales are declining...

Sadly I was told by Ybarra while he was at Xbox that most of the higher ups at Xbox had interns grinding gamer scores to make them appear to be gamers more than they actually were

I knew that was the case. Phil spencer is a perfect example. He's only acting like a gamer and that shelf of his gives it away. It reeks of insincerity when your trying so hard to show everyone how much of a gamer you are and how much you love gaming. It's all part of the PR. Phil spencer is nothing more than a fake character Microsoft put in front of us to represent the xbox brand.

Digital Foundry had a guy banned for console warring on as some sort of expert when discussing the ABK acquisition.

That's where MS marketing dollars are being wasted basically.

While sony actually do marketing where it will reach the masses, MS are more interested in paying of these "content creators" to market for them, not to say MS don't market outside social media but they are more heavily focused in that area.

It's a completley failed strategy, and has actually back fired as alot of these "content creators" and "journalists" are actually making there own brand look bad.

I mean that’s not remotely surprising, when Phil Spencer released his stats earlier this month it was obvious it couldn’t be accurate because he averaged nearly 3 hours a day of gaming which given the hours executives work doesn’t seem feasible unless he never spends any time with his family 🤨

We can say that PlayStation higher ups and their marketing strategy has been for years to not engage with the fanbase, much like Nintendo does it for example, which has its negatives and might be indicative of a lack of attachment to the hardcore fanbase, but the way Xbox goes about it is treating their hardcore fanbase like absolute dimwits.

The real question here is why are you guys taking him seriously?
I mean, people also take Schreier seriously and that dude himself said that he had no interest in practicing journalism (he wouldn't be able to, even if he wanted it, imho).

It's the opposite. He's being called out for being a shill
But so what if he’s a shill?

I mean, it is what it is. Just ignore him.

The reality is that people thrive on hate boners these days and actively seek out people who irritate them, to get that dopamine hit of outrage.

Nothing wrong with that either, but let’s not pretend it isn’t a willing exchange of services, so to speak.

Looks like the game will have a 3 year gap between ports...... (for the PS5 port).

Relax gamers, the leak is out and people are having some fun with it. We all looked and had fun with the GTA6 leaks.

Yucky! Gross! 🤮 It’s a videogame leak. Who really cares? The guy recording Erin Andrews getting dressed in a hotel room was gross. Tom Warren is obviously an MS shill but he’s not crossing any lines joking about this.

Who cares? I bet the devs that see they work being stolen and shared in the internet for free care. These games cost millions to develop and now the game code is out there. This is not a release date or some screenshots leak, its work stolen and shared for free.

Who cares whether a social media guy is a shill or not. People should already know in 2023 that anyone with a YT or Twitter account can be shilling. My company hires bloggers with YT profiles to shill our products. $5000 + as much free products and graphic assets they need from the marketing department.

Is it any different than corporations shilling their own stuff?

PS Blog just announced the 2023 award winners and almost every aawrd was given to Spiderman 2 or Insomniac. SM2 blew away Baldurs Gate 3 and Larian.

Oh, we know he's not a journalist.

He's an absolute nobody who thinks he's a somebody because he has a blue tick.

Doesn't he work for a 3rd party site that reports on gaming news?

Just ignore him.
I didn't go on Twitter to seek him out

Calling out hypocrisy. No outrage

I thought he was an editor at the verge. If he still has that job and he also works for Microsoft he should disclose that.

He's an MS employee? Where does it say that and how would you know he does? I took a skim of his twitter, Verge bio and Linked in and it says nothing about being an MS employee.
