And all that podcast just got flushed.

What a waste of time. They could have said that. All big games coming to multiplatforms .

Why the fuck did you do a podcast and say we will only have these 4 games ( at least for now ) just to drop this tweet 2 days later ?

Wtf man MS are bunch of monkeys in that headquarter.

Fuck that even monkeys are more organized and move in a singular troop and leader.
Maybe there's a power struggle still going on and someone above Phil borrowed the twitter password.

I think people who said the podcast was the start of easing in their faithful were spot on. To me, the rumors were the fire. No way was that just "internet chatter". It was real, and a lack of an outright denial from Microsoft was the additional gasoline in their hands.

During the podcast, Phil Spencer did say that all games could come to other platforms if it makes sense.

Some people just chose not to hear it, because it wasn't stated explicitly.

Just when Xbox kind of had the narrative under control one little Tweet :)

Again notice how the talk of the super powerful Xbox has been glossed over This is where the biggest problem lay.

There is buzz around new PlayStation & Nintendo consoles but right now people feel that a Xbox is just a PC with less freedom. Xbox has to change this with something unique but for now they have to keep the fanboys at bay while also keeping a buzz around the Xbox name.

They don't have much to lose in this generation so why not throw a little gas on the fire when the talking stops lol

I believe the decisions they are making now will apply to next generation as well. Only way to go back would be to convince Nadella, the board, and the shareholders that they should intentionally stop making all the money they are about to make in the next few years. That just does not sound realistic.

No one will care what the super duper next xbox will be. People hardly care now. Its so naive to think a powerful next gen system, or handheld, is going to change the current trajectory. The damage is done. They're clearly going a different route, relying less on hardware, which is fine. Die hard xbox fans just need to accept that.

They are not going back to one platform & their biggest fight is going to be getting people to buy games from their storefront vs Steam , Apple , Android & PlayStation.

Activision / King is just leverage & security

Steam should actually be worried about what's coming because Microsoft is about to fight for position on PC after Steam saved PC gaming from piracy.

"More adventures and more fun – for more people. The gaming community thrives when more players can play."

Oh God, I really hate when they try to spin it like this. If this was the case, if you really believe it, then just release ALL of your games on every platform all the time. You know exactly why that's not the case, when can companies be honest for once and stop talking like teenagers to an audience.
