She explains why.

Are you talking about:

Ellone: I'm sorry, Squall. It's hard to explain. But...one thing... It's
about the past.

Squall: (...So we were viewing the past?)

Ellone: People say you can't change the past. But even still, if
there's a possibility, it's worth a try, right?

Squall: (Change the past? IS she serious? Give me a break...) Are you the
one responsible!? Are you the one taking us to that 'dream world'!?

Ellone: I'm sorry.

That? I don't see how that really explains anything. Certainly not why Squall and co. are the ones transported.

There are times when things are better left unexplained because it gets far worse when you try to explain something and it turns in to total bullshit.

See MGS 4 for a good example, Condemed 2 would sadly work as well.

Also why not use Squall? He was quite possibly the strongest person in the world outside the Sorc. They were very close and he was a trained mercenary.

Not to mention he is pretty much Ellone's brother as well Laguna's son.

She's trying to change the past so Laguna won't leave and have Raine die alone. It takes her a while to realize that the past can't be changed. It's poorly explained, I'll give you that much, but it's not like they intentionally said nothing.

Awesome collection, Lissar! My collection is pretty small in comparison.

Just remember to cast Blind to make that enemy even blinder.

I used to have the Brady guide too (I had that one first and then bought another because I love guides...) but that one seems to have been lost due to moving a lot :/
I love guides too! I don't really use them when playing, but strategy guides so perfectly combine my love for books and games that I have ended up with way more than I ever intended.

Took a quick pic of my FF guide collection. The older ones are looking a little worse for wear, and they're usually organized neater on my shelf, but I had to flip them to get a decent pic. I also have several Ultimanias packed away with some of my other collectable FF stuff that I kind of want to fish out now.

That's the best part of the fight, since you can spam Booya/Heel Kick.

Get a friend and play it MST3K style.

Nice! I want to get more NA guides since I've only bought JP guides for years and kind of feel like I'm missing out on some nice additions.

I used to use guides a lot when I was younger, but not so much now. But back then I would buy guides for games I didn't even OWN. I just liked their glossy pages and nice art. I even bought BoF 1 and 2 guides before I owned the games (I had rented the second one for a bit.) Worst guide I ever owned was Beyond the Beyond. It was just text, no pictures. Appropriate for the worst game I've ever owned (I bought them at the same time.) Also, only game and guide I've ever sold.

Am I the the only one that thinks that Serah looks kind of like a chimp? It's like they way overdid the OMGKAWAII factor on her until she looked totally inhuman.

She sure does. Wanna stay on it for the rest of the journey? You can, you know.

Why are you singing about trains?

I'm betting if this were voiced, it'd sound bad. Seriously. You can stay on the train.

In battle, Selphie is pretty good.

As long as he has Blind on, he's not going to hit you. Just keep using everyone's Limit Breaks and he'll go down quickly. If you feel like you need to heal, do it, but you shouldn't have to.

are you trying to say that trains are in fact not cool?
FFVIII's trains are alright because apparently they can go underwater. Also, 3000 gil for a train ticket.

However... FFVIII needs a monorail.

Also, James.

Maybe when I clean up around here and get time. My game shelf is currently a disaster. Also, I don't have as many books. :lol

Ha, I've done this too! Recently even. When my local Borders was closing up shop, I grabbed several guides for super cheap that just looked interesting. But they actually sold me on the games, and now I have Dragon Age and Alan Wake in my backlog.

Final Fantasy IX's notoriously crap guide is definitely the worst one I own, but it sounds like Beyond the Beyond's has it topped. I haven't sold IX's guide yet because it is good for an occasional laugh. It is that bad. The other NA FF guides are mostly decent, but I'm thrilled FF has moved over to Piggyback from Bradygames. XIII's guide was gorgeous.

Outside of Ultimanias and Perfect Bibles and other such 100% complete guides, I buy guides based on whether I like their page layout and design. I've ended up with tons of guides for games I don't own just due to that.

What do you have against chimps and other non-humans? Are you a racist?!

I love the final fantasy series pre PS2.

I feel bad for those that love final fantasy 10 the most and never got to experience FF4-6 when they were new and fresh.

Those my friends without a doubt are the best final fantasy games.. people that have played from FF-1 to now i'd say over half will agree those are the best and that ff10 etc doesn't compare.

FF7 and 9 were pretty solid as well.

The series changed at ff10.. imo not for the better.. it was still a decent game but no where near as amazing as the snes and ps1 versions

I remember trying to use FFIX's guide while on a 56K modem.

That was fun.

As said the time of playing doesn't mean you won't like them just because of order.

IV and VI are the first two I played and I still think they are lame and that X is better.

The moogle says kupo instead of making a sound that sounds like kupo. I'm irate.
