How large are the Vita game cards anyways? Up to 4gb? Larger?

I'm wondering if they wanted to stick with a 2gb card for Wipeout 2048 and ended up using heavy compression resulting in longer load times?
Carts are 4GB for now.

I think 2gb and 4gb have been confirmed so far. Considering Uncharted is over 3gb, I doubt 4gb will be the max.

I wouldn't be surprised if some retail games require downloading a significant portion.

Okay, I'm getting the 3G launch bundle, and depending on the free PSN game, I may get Asphalt later.

I just need $15 of trade-ins so I can still have enough money left over from my tax refund to get a bigger PS3 hard drive.

That site is blocked for me at work, what sucks? Trophy support is one of the main reasons I wanted a Vita.

Here's the message from the site:

"In the vita video about at around 5:30 the guy talks about trophies. He earned some whilst on the vita and made sure he synced them. When he goes to see his gamer card and trophy list on the PS3 it is not visible. WTF Sony?"

Apparently you currently can't see your Vita Trophies on the PS3 (and possibly vice versa). But the consensus seems to be, that this is only the case because the Vita hasn't "official" launched in our region yet.

For people on the fence about what size memory card to buy, I recently purchased a PSP Go which has 16GB of internal storage. I have 9 games at the moment and just under 4GB of storage left, so if you plan on doing a significant amount of PSP gaming and going all digital with Vita titles, the 32GB memory card is really your best option. You could go with the 16GB and look for sales later on, but 16GB goes fast. Again, this is really only for people who intend on going fully digital.

I can play ALL my Xbox games on 360. And ALL my GameCube games on Wii.

If i'm not mistaken you can see your ps3 trophies on your vita.

Any update from the Canucks that had their Amazon.ca orders processed and labeled "shipping soon" last night...??

I contacted my friend at Gamestop this morning. They do have permission to sell first party Sony titles, and nothing else. I think this means Uncharted, and probably Hot Shots Golf only.

Someone from RFD claims their Vita is out for delivery.

I'm really tempted to order from Amazon and cancel my EBGames instore reserve... choices, choices...

will FIFA Vita use online pass like the console versions?

im using AU account and planning to buy from the US since its cheaper, but if requires online pass to play online, i wont be able to redeem it on the US store..

anyone know??

An unboxing video showed it didn't have an online pass.

Screw it..

I just placed an order on Amazon.ca a few seconds ago... It says "Shipping soon".
I think it's only Amazon.ca that's breaking the street date, not amazon.com

I wonder if Amazon.ca would ship to me here in the states, or if it would get changed into a .com order... Hmmm

Does anybody know how to transfer PSP saves to the Vita? I've copied my saves to my Mac, do I now just wait until I get a Vita to use the content manager program?

Even if they did, it'll probably get held up at the border for at least a day and you'll get raped with custom fees.... and the weekend is coming up.

It's probably not worth the hassle to potentially get it a day or two early.

Just tried ordering one from .ca (to be shipped to Arizona), but got shot down :*(

I've been Curious about this too. I ended up copying my saves over into my PS3. Hopefully I can just copy them over to my Vita next week.

Maybe. Vita brought it out in me because they offered the BC to the digital platform only. But the digital platform bugs me. I have games from decades ago, that I still hook up and play.

Sure I can do the same with the platforms I have so far. Including PSP. But the more pressures that push things digital-only, the less and less physical media will actually be released and exist. The less and less people will be able to retain and have access to game collections years from now, regardless of platform, because, like DLC for XBox 1 games, the only outlet available will just be gone. And the more and more we'll be re-paying to re-buy something we have bought already. Is my incessant ire that you've noticed because of the backwards compatibility or about the digital distrust? Vita made it about both.

So okay. No compatriots, fellow sympathizers, or understanding on NeoGAF, in the Vita launch thread. Twitter got me some understanding responses, as did some other forums. I'm trying to respond reasonably to the potshots you want to take at me. I don't write about games for a living. Good for you for doing so. Me, I go on about something when a passionate viewpoint grips me.

And if I'm alone here, and you want to construe that to mean I'm alone in the world on this, I have no need to disavow you of the notion. But I honestly don't think it's true.
You can still put your downloads on a memory card. There's your physical media.

GAF, I'm still trying to decide between the WiFi Model & the 3G, I know the 3G Launch Bundle is good, but I could still just get a WiFi Model & 8GB Card for $280 instead, saving myself $20. I'm just not convinced that 3G would be very useful, when I already have a phone for multimedia functions. Of course, there's Vita functions like "Near", but I am really going to pay a $15/$30 a month fee just to get some free items in a game? And I highly doubt game developers will use the 3G functionality to give gamers using it a significant advantage or lockout essential features. Plus, I typically never really meet anyone that has handheld game systems and if I do it's a DS/3DS (which I'm also considering buying instead).

They weren't yesterday, but call them and ask. My card didn't ship until late yesterday so they might've gotten a shipment in.

Saw that too. If they ship, I wonder if EB would be given the go ahead to start selling the FEB's. It won't be the FEB if I don't get it first.

I'd say wait a bit and see what free games they are planning to give away with the Bundle and if it's worth it go 3g if not just save the money!

A lot of the Amazon games were priced before we even knew what the official price was. I wonder if they just said fuck it when the prices were announced. They must be getting boned thanks to pre order price guarantee.

I wouldnt be surprised one bit if Amazon priced new retail games at the same price as the PSN digital version..maybe even a buck or two less.

Also, Sony had the MSRP for Wipeout and HSG at $29.99. I think Amazon just stuck with it while other retailers upped their price accordingly.

So I have a EU and a US account on my PS3. The US one has a lot of PSP content but I want to use the EU account on the Vita. Will I be able to use the content from the US account by transferring stuff via my PS3?

3G model with free Wipeout pre-ordered and I'm starting to get really excited for the launch.

Got to try the system few days ago at local gamestop and I was pretty much pleasantly surprised by everything I did with the system. The dpad almost felt like it was using micro switches. The dpad's rather small but darn did I like it. The analog sticks were a lot smaller than I expected, but they did their job rather fine. The shoulder buttons impressed me the most. I really loved how large they were and really easy to get a good grip too.

Like everyone else, I too was amazed by the picture quality on the screen. Katamari was just as colourful as I hoped it would be and the size of the screen was about just perfect for handheld gaming.

Aside from the memory card and few extra games I'm set for launch.

Unit 13 and HSG seem to be the way to go at launch and maybe Super Star Dust. Those with my Dissidia 2 and Ys games backlog from PSN should keep me going for awhile.

Oh yeah, thats right. Sony sent an email out or something listing those games at 29.99.
I wonder why Sony themsleves didnt even price the games at $29.99 on PSN. I was really hoping the pricing structure would look something like this:

Retail - 39.99
Digital @ Retailers - 35.99
Digital on PSN - 29.99

but I guess that would piss off the retailers too much...having a full 10 dollar discount would be nice.

I still like the 10% discount thought. Its better than nothing and itll actually sway me to go digital for those must have launch titles...assuming Amazon doesnt end up pricing them cheaper.

10% is not enough. You're forced to buy a memory stick (practically) and it would take ~6 games to offset the price of the cheapest memory stick.. and if you did they wouldn't even all fit on it.

Now if they were $30 instead of $40 that would be nice, but saving $4 is not worth it, might as well buy a physical copy and some places would probably be cheaper.

Why some games have no discount at all is beyond me.

I know it depends overall on what games you have, but on my PSP Go, I have 11 PSP games, 27 minis, and 3 PSone game, and I have six gigs left on it.
