I picked up the Japanese version at launch and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've only played FF 7 and FF8 for any great length of time so I'd definitely recommend it to music game fans who are considering it despite not caring too much about the FF series.

I'm glad they retained the awesome title, "Theatrhythm." This, coupled with the adorable art, rhythm-based gameplay and FF music, makes it look interesting to me, someone who hasn't really played Final Fantasy outside of FF6 and Tactics Advance. Any impressions from those who have played it would be appreciated. :)

I wonder if the U.S. will get the cool character portraits on the inside of the case that Japan got? We finally got character portraits with the Kid Icarus Uprising case, so maybe. :)

Okay, need impressions now.

Anybody have a chance to play this yet?

I just imported it a few weeks ago and I'm enjoying the hell out of it. It figures that right after I did that, Square Enix got off their lazy butts and announced something for 3DS lol.

I'm really trying to hold off until this holiday season so I can get a deal on a 3DS. This will make it very difficult.

Great, Theatrhythm is surprisingly fun, so it's good that the English speaking players will be able to play it.

Does this game have a nice, snappy, punchy feeling when you hit the notes? In other words, does it have the same sort of punch as Elite Beat Agents? I loved hitting and holding the notes in EBA.

Day one! I have been waiting for this to come over.

I hope we get the DLC, too. I want to play Matoya's Cave! Oh, and the demo would be really nice too, hopefully SE decides to get it on the eShop soon.

I'm extremely excited to hear it is coming over, I was starting to get a bit worried. I just recently realized how much of an amazing nostalgia trip this would be for me. Grew up playing all the FF's, and revisiting them brings me down memory lane more then any other gaming series. I'm not of much a rhythm game fanatic, but I'll be day one for this!!

Congratulations peeps! It's a surprisingly deep and fun rhythm game. There's of course the 'main mode' where you play the music from each game starting with the OP and finishing with the ED theme. The real depth comes from the other, harder modes with RPG elements and the like.

Just a really great, nostalgic experience and well worth the money. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. XD

I have it. Game is awesome.

It is so awesome to hear all the positive impressions, summer can't come soon enough!!!!

Won't matter to much about not being into rhythm games that much - the nostalgia will hit you hard, especially for someone like you who grew up playing the FF games, and you'll likely end up falling in love with it. I did anyway.

Not played Ouendan/EBA, or did it just not gel for you?

Everyone on the fence: Japan had a demo. I wouldn't be too surprised if other regions followed suit.

I loved EBA. But that was before playing similar games on iOS (osu!, groove coaster, etc). Then I tried to replay EBA and gave up. It just wasn't reactive enough.

I knew it that once they bothered to announce this for NA & Europe, it would only be a few months at most from the announcement to release.

I must say I am actually still a little surprised that it took Square Enix this long to develop a music rhythm game for Final Fantasy, considering the popularity of the soundtracks and the amount of various remix albums they have pumped out.

Hopefully the DLC is fair because as much as I dislike DLC, I fear that I will buy it all up :(
