There's nothing stopping you from continuing if you like the game.

I'm probably going to go ahead and charge some AC when the game launches, because I want to make a second character.

I'm not even sure I'm interested in playing on a theoretical international PSO2 server as much as I would on the JP one. Only thing that would convince me is if JP handled everything directly, because there isn't a single iteration of PSO, PSU, or PSP that has been handled properly outside Japan.

I have fun with the Japanese version but the language barrier is a huge detriment to my overall enjoyment. Not knowing what anything says detracts from the experience on a large scale for me. The game is good at the moment but it'll be great once I know what the hell everything is lol. It's like playing with my eyes closed almost atm. And I don't want to get too invested in a character then start all over again when the English version releases. I'd rather wait it out now so the Eng release feels fresh from the get go- instead of having to play catch up for months.

I've never felt affected by bad management (though I know it was present). In the PSO/PSU days I didn't really keep too up to date with what was happening on the Japanese servers so it didn't bother me. Ideally yes, I'd want the English version to be managed properly this time around, of course. But even if not, I'd prefer playing it in English with delayed content updates.

I am wholly unwilling to stop playing. Hell, even the game being down tomorrow for launch is annoying :p

This is my first post in here, but I've been playing for a few days. I played Blue Burst with GAF like 4 years ago, though I don't think I've seen anyone from back then in here...

Yeah, I remember even back in the original version on Dreamcast, having to download files to my VMU and switch to Japanese in order to play any of the interesting missions. And those missions usually gave stuff that was difficult or impossible to get otherwise...

A more recent example, PSU. It was released only 2 months after the Japanese version, but every year the delay in updates increased considerably.

Every year the Japanese version had an anniversary event which started in mid September, but in the english version, since the delays in updates were so big, these events never made it to the english version anniversaries (and so they were given random names like Winter Event, Summer Event, Spring Event).

PSU was released in english in October 24 2006, the 1st anniversary event started in January 25 2008, the 2nd anniversary event started in July 3 2009 and the 3rd anniversary event started in March 25 2011. In comparison, the Japanese version is going to have its 6th anniversary event next September.

Ha. Anniversary events on arbitrary, non-annual dates? What a grand idea.

Also, some of the special missions were sponsored by Japanese companies that don't exist outside of Japan and would never, ever get translated. And I doubt switching to Japanese will be an option here since characters are locked to servers, unless they allow anyone to join any server, but considering the lack of a word select chat (like original PSO had) to allow people to communicate across languages (a bit :p), it seems more likely that an English version would be fully segregated.

But hey, we can always hope! :p

This is my biggest issue too. As much fun as I've had with the game (during the short time I've been playing), the language barrier is killing it for me. My friend knows an OK amount of Japanese, so he can make sense of a lot of what he's reading, and I have to essentially follow him around and wait for him to explain everything so I can understand what's what. It's hugely frustrating.

I wasn't getting any frame rate drops... Like, none. However recently I've been getting heaps and I'm not sure what caused it.

Recent things I can think of.
- Would virtual full screen use more resources?
- I updated my drivers... but that should have made things better ;_;
- And well, SEGA did a big update to the game. Not sure if that'd effect performance.

Maybe it could be the drivers, new drivers usually fix old issues, but they also may bring new issues.

Fuuuuuuuu, just got my mag to its 3rd evolution (or 2nd tier 2nd time? Since I don't think you can get the full mag evolution with the beta cap) and was on a run to test out the PB I got with it when the servers went down. I NEED THIS SEGA

It's been great fun. Thanks to Ae and Viv I was able to do 20 COs before it ended, so I'll get 56,8k XP right off the bat.
Going to buy 4k AC today, need it for paying for 3 months of premium - I seriously can't imagine playing this game without My Shop. Plus, I like it so much that I want to support it - 4k yen for 105 hours of the beta is a very small price.

In other news, I want to make the OT for jPSO2 but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do so, since it's reserved. We'll see about that in the near future I guess.

Mag is capped on level 99 and the 2nd evolution is on the 100th level.

Finally get around to jumping in to the game, and the servers go down almost exactly the same time. Game goes up the 4th doesn't it? I'll be able to just use the sega ID i created, and jump in on Wednesday then?

For the OT, I want to suggest if there's a guide for non-Japanese speaking players to buy AC either via online or someone willing to be the middle-man.

I guess we can expect one from bumped.org, but if it's not possible to use a non-jp CC, it probably won't be possible to buy AC directly.

Just started. Managed to do the tutorial and add StarCreator to my friend's list before the server went down. I enjoyed my very short time playing, though. XD ;;

The game is transitioning from Open Beta to Release, but accounts and characters used in the Open Beta will be transfered to the Release version. :)

Ok, there's a really big chance I'll be making the PSO2 OT, so I have a little favor to ask.
Could you link/post you screenshots with chat bubbles and characters faces? I mean the think which appears when you send text by shift+enter or when you invite NPCs to join your party.

Also, for the thread subtitle, I hope everyone agrees that "YOUR MAJESTY" is good. ;d

Sadly, since I have a work interview tomorrow, I probably won't make it before the release, you can expect it to go live sometime this week though.

The distribution of the newest PSO2 patch has started and everyone should update their game asap.

We have absolutely no information about the English release, but since there's an option to select the language in the launcher's options... Who knows.

Hmm maybe make a Tumblr or any other picture blog page with them? I think Imgur has a function like this too.

Also I can't wait till the game goes back up! :D

Looks like the update will make the game work with Windows 8 Consumer Preview again. Gameguard now started and updated and I could go into the game's main screen. :)

Since it's coming to Android, might as well get it for my Nexus 7 instead of the PSVita because its hardware is more capable, it uses a bigger screen, and there will probably be an app so you can use a controller. :)

So there's going to be cross-play between Android, PC, and PSVita users.

There's only going to be cross-play between PC and Vita. The Android and iPhone versions are just simpler single player games that have a few community features from the main game (like checking mail or the player shop).

Oh jeesz, I guess servers are going to be overloading day one.
I would have prefered a qualifier to get into the the game, i.e. pay for the game, and then it becomes F2P to weed out all of those who aren't serious about the game.

But it makes sense, they need all the people they can get to buy weapons.

No matter, I was hoping to add box-art to my shelf, oh well.

Not even a C.E.? Very sad. :(

So this might be a bit OT, but it seemed the most appropriate place to ask. If I want to get into PSO and I'm able to get one of the DS or PSP (or even DC, but I'm guessing that's a little outdated at this point) versions, which'd be the best? I want to jump in on PSO2 when it hits La Vita, so I want to prepare myself. Love Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star 1-4, if that helps.

If you're limited to western releases, Phantasy Star Portable 2 (PSP) is your best bet. If you have a JP PSN account, or feel like importing, Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity (PSP) is amazing.

For something more old school, you can try PSO:BB via SCHTHACK

Cool, I was leaning towards the PSP but I wanted to make sure I wasn't getting the equivalent to MHF2, when I should be getting the equivalent to MHFU.
