EDIT: Nevermind.
Yeah this one is ridiculous.
Remembering everyone's score because the game refuses to display it is not a good "skill" to emphasize in a fighting game. It's horrible for both spectators and players.
It's not a game of hidden information. The information is there - you just have to remember it.
Not displaying the score in a competitive score-based game is just beyond weird. (I assume there will be a way to make the score visible, and everyone will do that...)
The messaging here is also very strange. The game has "real" fighting game players working on it and is supposed to be more competitive than Smash, yet includes stuff like this which exists...I guess so that newbs can have fun mashing and not feel bad because they are losing? I struggle to understand the reasoning behind it at all.
Fair enough, but as you said, important back in the days of the first Playstation. Not so much now. It's just a bit frustrating when everyone is screaming out for the usual suspects like Snake, Cloud, Crash, Spyro, Lara and Sora, and instead we get someone who wasn't really on anyone's wishlist. At least Heihachi has a decent affiliation with the Playstation brand, as opposed to Big Daddy.
Wasn't Jak already revealed?

Yep.You ever play Smash? That's exactly how it works in timed matches and nobody's ever had a problem with it.
They've already said there will also be a stock mode where you'll be able to see how many lives you have left.
Honestly I think the reason everyone is not feeling the gameplay so far is because they've done nothing but show the regular "time battle" mode and just get as many kills as you can. This looks like the type of game that once you make it a stock match, it would get very intense and the wholse system of AP gain/denial would factor heavily. That's why I'm not too worried about what I'm seeing.
How? The PS mascot of Japan shouldn't be in a game filled with PS notable characters and mascots? The character that will probably help the Japanese appeal?
What?
Absolutely nothing I've read about this game suggests it's being designed to be more competitive than Smash. In fact everything suggests the exact opposite.
Here is some info:What other games is he in, in a non-guest slot capacity?
Here is some info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toro_(cartoon_character)
Not many games on his own, but i dont think that this matter. What matters is how known something is.
I loved Heavenly Sword, and think Nariko is a fantastic character, so I'm hoping she makes it in.
Cool, he have been in quite a few games indeed.English wikipedia entry is very lacking. Toro has starred in a lot more games than what's listed. He's also been in cameos of dozens of games. He once starred in a Hot Shots Mini-Golf spinoff.
Edit: Here's the Japanese history page. Toro has starred in 16 different games. He's also starred in his own movie.
Many of us were asking for a Tekken character, you can go back to that "PS All Star discussion thread" and see that series brought up quite often.
For a first fighting game in the series 20-25 characters is pretty good. BlazBlue still doesn't have that many and vanilla SF4 didn't either.
What, I didn't say anything like that. You really think I said, games shouldnt be at basic standards?
I'm saying gamers requiring 35+ characters in every fighting game in this "day and age" is ridiculous. It's not the simple 90's sprite days where changing the hue of a characters outfit and naming it something different constitutes a new character. But I do not want to walk down this path of this debate... it's tired and never ends.

Many of us were asking for a Tekken character, you can go back to that "PS All Star discussion thread" and see that series brought up quite often. We were just unsure who it'd be since Tekken has so many character. Some thought it'd be Paul since he appeared in that 'Michael' commercial. But Tekken definitely deserved a spot. It was one of the top most popular series on the PSone, and i'd argue that the PSone era should end up dominating in terms of characters. There were more iconic franchises/characters created that generation than any other as far as PS goes.
I wanted a Tekken character, just not the most boring possible choice. Should have been Lili.

So is every announcement of this game going to have to have people stating, "Now I'm not buying it!" or "Still not going to get it." Jesus people.
Still an unexciting announcement for me... hope Comic Con has something more interesting
That is actually incredibly disappointing, fighting games in this day and age should strive for at least 25-30 characters on release. (especially for a party game like this where variety is crucial)
Some spoiled ass people 'in this day and age'. And you all want them on disc unlocked, free and the game under 60 bucks.
Who the fuck cares about Heihachi?
Alot of people care, not sure what type of question that is.Who the fuck cares about Heihachi? there are tons of other Tekken characters to choose from.
What a waste of a char slot.
At least give us the most popular one. Jin Kazama. He's x10000 times better than this old sack who everyone hates.

Don't forget Tekken 6 was the best selling single entry game behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl of this generation.
this image looks great
If you count individual games it's the second best selling fighting game in the last few years.I don't know what this means.
Sony should've just grabbed some characters from Toshinden or Bloody Roar since y'all complain so much about Heihachi.
Actually, thinking about it lifting someone from Bloody Roar would've been awesome!!
They said they choose characters out of gameplay reasons and I can see plenty of ways of implementing Kat's powers to make her play differently from other characters.Do you think there's a chance the characters from Gravity Daze could be in the game? (maybe later as DLC?) It's a long shot, cause they're relatively unknown and new, but i think they'd work well, gameplay-wise.
