Nah. We just have a lot of reviewers.
Hopefully they offer some kind of primer for those who never played 4. I'd think so, considering 4 never made it off the PS3.

It takes place in a post SOP world, though. If you don't know what that was or what affect it had then you might be a little lost.

It was the same with the Vanquish demo. Although I ended being disappointed with the full game. But I don't think it'll happen this time. MGR looks more varied, more re-playable thanks to the ranking system, the weapons and the costumes. The story will be a million times better by default.
I just love everything about the demo (The only annoying thing was the unskippable codecs but it has been fixed, thank you Platinum!). Just running as Raiden is fun. The controls are so smooth. Doing a Zandatsu with one perfect cut (Diagonally for more coolness) never gets old.
Can't wait for next Friday. This game is a ray of light in the gaming landscape and reminds me of a modern version of old Konami NES games like Rollergames. I don't know why.

I just watched the English trailer and I was more disappointed than I expected to be, which was already pretty goddamn disappointed.
What possible reason is there to leave out language track options?
Where did Platinum/Konami(?) get the idea that these are the kinds of voices English-speakers want to hear?

I'm glad this game has such catchy boss battle music, it will stop them from being irritating when they inevitably kick my ass and I'm forced to continue over and over.
It feels like the voice actors are trying to ham it up as much as possible, from the spoilerish bits I've seen.

I've played the demo like twenty times, all my hype... but I don't buy 60 buck games anymore, 40 is my max.

Not to speak for him, but just imagine the money you would save if you buy, let's say, 10 games a year.
10 x 60 = 600
10 x 40 = 400.
That's a $200 savings. Pretty substantial.

Monsoon is way worse.
But Sam is awful yes. Sundowner seems to be the best of the villains. But "best" is a term I use very loosely.
Man this is awesome. I'll even let the vocals slide. Can't wait to fight Monsoon to this.
Also speaking of music: PlatinumGamesJP, or anyone who may know, which track plays during the Unmanned Gears trailer?

Well to me, MGS has always had some pretty decent voice actors. Some of the best really. They know how to deliver their lines, and their voices sound realistic to their characters.
In, MGR, judging from the trailer, these are more akin to the Resident Evil voice actors. I wouldn't say as bad as Resident Evil 1 but not too much better.
I think the biggest problem is they just don't seem to match the characters, visually.

This doesn't relieve my fears lol. On the other hand, maybe I should just stop looking at it the way I am. Bayonetta was full of cheesy voice acting (although I loved whoever did Bayonetta herself) and the game fucking rocks.

For a game like this, I'm not upset about it. But it does take you out of the scene hearing those voices.
They are much worse than any mainline MGS game.

If by that you mean you don't know about bonuses or anything, Gamestop (in the U.S.) is offering Gray Fox DLC (skin and Fox Blade) as well as a 24 page art book. Amazon is offering a Inferno armor skin (basically just a reskin of Raiden, but red).
If you live elsewhere in the world, I'm not sure
I remember hearing rumors about Day 1 Digital, but I'm not sure if they were confirmed.
