Where is the European release date :(

Looks beautiful, although when I bought my WiiU I didn't expect it to go 8 months without the Pikmins. Oh well, maybe they'll have an ambassador programme....

Wow. Pushing it to August tells me they really don't have shit together for the holiday. I see them pushing out one Mario game and that's it, and supplementing it with other previously announced games like Wind Waker HD, Wii Fit, and 101.

They're really putting corks in holes of a boat taking water.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I mean, I'll have 3DS games for days... but my Wii U is going to be covered in a thick layer of dust by August 4th.

Nintendo, you have killed the first half of the year with Wii U. Bravo. Our only consolation is the game's fantastic box art. I want to hug and punch you at the same time.

Well at least we have a date now. Was hoping for June at the latest, so I'm a little disappointed.

Wonder when Wonderful 101 is coming.

LOL wow. At least it has a release date

:( :/ smh nintendo , that late is awful

Should have just waited, I expected pikmin in April/May at the latest

Game better be long , like 15+ hours,

So will gamers that own a wii u/ x360/ PS3 buy picmin in august or wait a month and pick up GTA V the following month, what say you GAF?

Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
August was the month I thought it would be the absolute earliest 3D Mario or Mario Kart could come.

But... Pikmin 3 for August. 10 months is not launch window. Nope.

August... ugh. Don't understand why this couldn't come out in July.

Oh well, just glad we have a date now.

So nothing much for the Wii U until then right? This game had the most potential to be an earlier Wii U title. Oh well! Earthbound guys!

Why would they leave the date out of the US presentation? Seems crazy to me, but so does most other things about how Nintendo handles their NDs.

I'd prefer Nintendo release a game when it is ready than one rushed to meet a date.
However, how the fuck did Nintendo not have this ready for the Wii U's launch?
August? Jesus.

Isn't Earthbound on Ouya as well?

There had better be a online mode or something. There no other reason I can think of that would make them push the game that far off.

So now we have:
June: G&W
August: Pikmin

I wonder if we're going to get something in July like Wii Fit or W101.

They probably hit the wall that is HD game development because they did not prepare themselves after watching everyone else in the industry hit that same wall at the beginning of this gen.

Yup. This means that Wonderful 101 is probably September/October at this point.

This fall basically looks like Mario Kart U, Wind Waker U, and maybe Wii Fit as well. What a sad year.

This and Game & Wario's release date means we've gone 6 or 7 months since a retail Nintendo developed game release on the Wii U. Last games were NSMBU and Nintendo Land in November 2012. Game & Wario is releasing at the end of May or June I think. That's pure BS in the end. I'll be buying Pikmin 3 but I be doing so with frustration that I had to wait this damn long.

Hopefully we get some surprises at E3 with Mario Kart and what not releasing this fall.

Except that Pikmin 3 started development as a Wii game, plus the last two years of the Wii lifecycle was barren (they had plenty of time to rework it)...

Nintendo had better bring some big guns to E3.
