Nintendo E3 demo Best Buy locations revealed [Update: Canada]

O.K., I'll definitely be able to go to the Saturday session, but I'm not so sure about the June 12th session...

I live in Minnesota, BTW, in case anyone else on GAF is from this state.

Going to be at Best Buy close to me, cool, I'm there twice, my body and 3DS is ready. My buddies are complaining that said Best Buy is on the other side of town... To them I say:

Well, I can't find the Miyamoto sunglasses "deal with it" gif, so if someone wants to post it below, great, but in the meantime...

Deal with it. Nintendo Direct / E3 in your city, gas up and roll out!

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
how aobut the e-shop instead , nintendo bring e3 to us

That works if you're mainly a software compány.

Nintendo has shown hardware at every single E3 since 2004. So if they were going to release demos online, that would automatically put every other game shown in disadvantage, since they're not on equal ground.

Best Buy's headquarters are in Minnesota and they can only get one store to participate? And it's in fucking Eden Prairie of all places.
Goddammit.

San Jose! I'm there! Hope I get some Luigi swag.

What's with the limited timing though? I thought they were doing this to attract new customers. With the limited times, only enthusiasts are going to get a chance to play.
Guess I gave Nintendo too much credit.

Im willing to bet the stations will be manned with trained employees, mostly just best buy folks, there to help people through the demos or answer questions like every booth at E3 does. Thus, the scheduled times.

Ah, you're right. This will be my first time attending an E3-like gaming event. Should be fun.

"In the past, we've focused the E3 hands-on experience on those attending the event. But this year, we're making E3 for the people*," Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, said in a Friday morning Nintendo Direct video message.

The California locations are dumb. Other then San Jose, they chose the most insignificant and population deprived cities. Hopefully Nintendo hits my hometown and more of Southern California.

I'm confused. How do I tell where the best buy locations are? It lists the cities like Houston, where I live, but not where they actually are in Houston. Houston has at least 10 different best buys.

I'll be at Disney World during this so I guess it doesn't matter to me that there are none near my hometown. I was never really too interested in this and knew it would be super limited anyway.

Well, it is an improvement from how everyone has done it previously!

Try searching at this website (the Best Buy official link) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Games-P...050002.c?id=pcmcat303600050002&DCMP=rdr107939. It should have a drop down that will take you to the best buy website for the specific location holding the event along with address, phone number and other info.

That Texas location list has got to be a joke. They'd better be adding a lot of locations.

No Dallas inside the loop? People aren't going to drive out to Arlington, unless its for a Rangers or Cowboys game.

No San Antonio? Lawl.

At least we have a time frame of when to expect them.

Guess there wasn't clear communication with Nintendo as the Nintendo of Canada facebook page has posted a list:

Come play some of our new E3 2013 Wii U games at Best Buy locations across Canada!

Demos will be at Best Buy Canada locations in:
Ontario: North York, Toronto, Mississauga, Windsor, London, Ottawa, Kingston, Brampton, Oakville
Quebec: Montreal, Lasalle
Manitoba: Winnipeg
Saskatchewan: Saskatoon
Alberta: Edmonton, Calgary (2 locations)
British Columbia: Vancouver, Langley, Richmond
Nova Scotia: Dartmouth

Check back closer to E3 2013 to learn what games will be featured!

Nice to see Saskatchewan finally getting something, too bad it's not Regina.

One of the two participating stores in Illinois is like 20 minutes from my house, so fuck yes. Unfortunately I won't be home on the 12th though, so I'll be going on the 15th. Here's hoping we get a demo for 3D Mario!

RIGHT?? Hey not the sweet ass store you have next your HQ either

DA FUQ

They chose, like, one of the farthest Best Buys from my house that's still in the metro area.

The only bright side is that it's not one of the Best Buys that are way out in the rural areas. Though yeah, there are other BBs I'd rather have them choose.

This:

They’ll be playable between 4 PM and 8 PM local time on June 12 and between 1 PM and 5 PM local time on June 15.

is not smart. Eight total hours across two days during E3? Hardcore gamers will comprise the vast majority of those who even hear about this promotion, and waiting in line for god knows how long just to play ten minutes of a new Mario game isn't going to leave an ideal impression of the system. Why on earth can't they just ship best buy demo discs and leave them in the stores for a few months so a much higher number of people will be able to play at their own pace the games that the Wii U is offering this holiday season?

SIGH NINTENDO, WHY DO I KEEP TRUSTING YOU
