Good to know that both Oblivion Game of the Year Edition and Time Gentlemen, Please! can be 100% completed in the same 24.84 hours :p

nx's Steam library would take approx. 4459.39 hours to complete.
That's 185.81 days!

I thought that was a lot, and then I read this thread. lol

Seance's Steam library would take approx. 701.87 hours to complete.
That's 29.24 days!

Name Seance
Games 51
Hours to beat main stories 701.87
Hours for completion 1941.24
Hours played 842.40
% of main stories 120.02%
% of total completion 43.40%
Worth $908.00

There are some far sorrier cases than me out there just looking at the results of this thread. I thought spending hundreds of dollars on Steam games you don't play was only a meme.

Games 35
Hours to beat main stories 339.25
Hours for completion 938.27
Hours played 170.10
% of main stories 50.14%
% of total completion 18.13%
Worth $274.00

Eh, small sample for me that is out of whack. There are several games, including the longest, in my list that I got as package deals and never touched (especially the separate multiplayer games). I have 7 Magicka's that are 22% of my "time to beat main stories" I will never play. Didn't know that Civ V alone accounts for 71% of my total play time for steam games, that's pretty interesting.

EDIT: Actually, looking at it Steam hasn't recorded my play times accurately. Oh well, still fun and gave me a reason to look at my steam library in more depth.

I can never get these kinds of things to work. I have my account set to public, but when I enter my steam ID (rayzertag), it says 'The Steam ID rayzertag does not exist. Try again?'

Any idea what the problem is? Also, where can I find my 17-digit code?

I have no idea how this figures out I have 17 games when I only have 12. And I've played ~500 hours of DotA2 alone and it says I've only played ~200.

At first I was appalled at how much time it would take to play my unfinished games. Then I saw that it included FFXI and that it was the majority of the time. After that I felt better.

seeing as I play mostly an hour a day, and not every day at that, I'm so doomed!
3 years to complete! and steam games aren't even half of my backlog.
I'm thinking I was better not knowing lol

edited: some of you people have not enough life time to finish your games!

edit 2: it's not even close to accurate, as most games on my list don't have estimations in playing time, aww

I was looking at my Steam library the other day, and I wondered how many hours it would take me to beat all of those games. I remembered howlongtobeat.com, and thought it would be cool to have it be able to analyze your Steam library and tell you how many hours it would take to beat all your games. Something easier then manually looking up every game you own in howlongtobeat.com.

Does the Steam API expose the categories you've put games into? A number of mine are in the 'completed' category - despite the fact that I didn't complete them on Steam, so I wouldn't particularly regard them as part of my backlog. (A number of others I'd regard as 'eternal', where completion isn't really A Thing)

That said...

That is weird. They say I need to play 500 hours to complete X3 reunion main story and 187 hours to beat Tribe Ascend " main story" lol its mp only haha

Was feeling pretty bad until I saw how many(or how little) hours some of you'll have under the play section in comparison to the amount of games owned. Step up your game :p

It's quite unnerving to discover that a 22.77% completion rate of main stories and 14.91% of total completion is actually quite satisfying. I was worried it would be much lower!

A mere 5775.85 hours to complete my current pre summer sale library...

I have 860ish hours played on steam and 800 of those hours are just in pause screens. I haven't even launched 90% of my games I own and I'm going to buy some more on Thursday during the Steam sale.

What's with the recurring 24.84s? That's about 24:50:30 or therabouts.

I'm thinking a simple ability to toggle off games and see the updated numbers in the top of thread would be nice for tailoring it to your own tastes (or indeed games you feel you've 'completed' faster than the site thinks you should!). But then I'd want that to persist, which would lead to account systems and stuff, and that all gets a bit complicated.

Does it sneak in a cap if you've spent longer than the max time on a given game? I note I've apparently played exactly 43 hours of Mass Effect 1, which I'd regard as quite a coincidence!

Edit: no, wait, I'm down for 20 hours on Half-Life 2 when it lasts 18 hours. Just a coincidence!

Edit2: Hmmm. Tropico: Reloaded appears twice on my list. Tradewinds Classics three times, Tradewinds Caravans twice, Westward Collection twice... it seems to be a bit confused about some smaller titles.

The fact that I don't play any games yet keep buying them and now I have data to show me quantitatively how stupid my actions are...it actually makes me want to spend MORE money at the Steam sale using the Steam client made by Valve software who make great games including the wildly popular smash hit Richochet that the media can't stop raving about.
