Limited Edition FFX/X2HD Revealed (NA/EU, PS3 Version) [Up: Screens]

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Trigger Happy & Catnip!

Since this is the international version, Catnip will be nerfed. You'll get an uncurable slow+berserk status once you equip it.

I can easily see it taking well over 100 hours to platinum each game unless they go the wuss route and just make all the achievements story related.

They didn't wuss out in the KH1 trophies, you have to play the game 2-3 times to plat it.

FFXIII and FFXIII-2 were exceptions because there's so little to do there compared to X and X-2.

Yeah I meant the PS3 version. I know that they just put up FF XIII-2 but this is an HD collection and I think most if not all of those are available on the PS Store.

Just wanted to check if we knew for sure either way but guess not.

Newsflash for those in the UK:

ShopTo have updated their pricing:

£24.85 for the standard
£29.86 for the collector's

Funny that the collector's is cheaper than the price they originally had for the standard (£32.86) :p

If there's no dodge 200 lightning bolts trophy I'm going to be disappointed.

There most likely will be. Probably indirectly related, such as "Obtain all sigils and crests/obtain all ultimate weapons."

I for one hope that they rework lightning dodge and the whole cactaur stone and butterfly side quests for Khamari and Lulu's weapons. They simply just straight up annoying/boring, I rather just do chocobo race and play blitzball. I don't think I'd want to try to get those weapons on characters I hardly used, again. -.-

X-2 will probably be a pain to plat because you have to go through Via Infinito.

Oh it's not so bad aside from being time consuming and a certain annoying boss on the 80th flood...unless they make cat nip give berserk and slow like the international version...

Screw those mega tonberrys tho...

I forgot the names, but the monsters who turn you into stone are absolutely annoying as well.

X-2 had some annoying dungeons, like the math maze in the thunder plains. UGH! Pencil and paper!

But nothing in final fantasy has ever bothered me as much as the clock puzzle in 13-2 especially the last one, which took forever.

Oh I totally forgot about clock puzzles, those were surprisingly fun.
(and evil)

I think at first I really enjoyed it, was challenging, something different, had to use some pencil and paper stuff to do it.

But the last one, so many times I miscalculated it and then fucked it up. Personally I always find there's a huge difference between challenging and fun versus plain down right busywork, or just straight up bullshit.

I think the dodging 200 lightning bolts also falls into that category. Alright, dodging lightning bolts, it takes some reaction time and precision, and to continue in a streak is a challenge, which is good. But I think ridiculous numbers are just absolutely stupid, and doesn't show much of anything other than lack of creativity.

That's like telling the player to get Wakka's weapon, "Win 200 matches in a row without ever being scored on." Blitzball is relatively easy with the right players and stats, and then, you kind of just staring at your screen doing nothing at all.

I am not too crazy about Tidus slight face change. I always hated his CGI look and prefered the in game look. Will get this on Vita eventually once on sale as I hated the Pal boarders.

I went ahead and preordered the PS3 version on Amazon. I'd really rather get this on Vita, but I want a physical copy since my Vita has a tiny 4GB card.

Wonder if the base case will have a white background and the LE's box is black? I hope it's not both black, because white's better for FF than black. Well, and logo on white is traditional for FF, whereas a black background wrecks it, so they may as well just go with cover art then.

Dammit, didn't want to get the PS3 version, but pre-ordered. I love physical art books for some reason, even though they usually get a look-through and then tossed in a box somewhere.

Are Vita/PS3 versions cross save?

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
I once failed at lightning dodges at 198.

Yep.

We've heard like NOTHING in regards to the Vita for version, for some time now. That's worrisome. I was really looking forward to having a portable version of these games. I put down cash for the PS3 version...regrettably :/

Ugh, I'm so torn on which version to get. I love playing RPGs on handhelds, but the PS3 version two games in the package. Hopefully the Vita versions are priced accordingly.

Vita version was briefly mentioned at Japan Expo when they announced cross-save capability.

It's also still mentioned in the emails they sent out for the Limited edition so it's not like it silently disappeared.

They're definitely happening, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them delayed at this point.

SE clearly wants to do these on PS3 only. We wouldn't be getting Vita ports if they hadn't mentioned X at that Sony TGS presser. I'm happy they're sticking to their word, but I'd rather they just delay the Vita ports or both if need be. The PS3 port of X clearly still needs work. Those faces.

X-2 looks fine, strangely enough.

I'll get whatever version comes out first, but if I had my druthers, I'd get the Vita version. These days, I like playing RPGs on portables regardless of their scope and scale.

I hardly preorder games without release dates, but since this is up on Amazon now and shows the artbook bonus, I might as well go ahead an order it, before my Prime expires.

The Vita version might come with an artbook too. Unfortunately, Square is keeping very tight-lipped about the Vita versions for some reason (though hopefully that'll change in the next couple of weeks).
