Tales of Xillia Day 1 Edition (NA, EU), Collector's Edition (NA, EU) announced

Well Banpresto is their subsidiary =/

What's more annoying is there actually some DLCs in Europe: "Exclusive PlayStation 3 theme and two Exclusive in-game character costumes - Cress's (Hero in Tales of Phantasia) Costume for Jude, and Stahn's (Hero in Tales of Destiny) Costume for Milla."

Are only available at GAME =/ and those who order from their site (for the collector's edition) won't get it I mean why would they do that =S

As shown on the previous page, the website states it explicitly. GAME will probably be the only retailer (ie not namcos website) that gets the DLC.

Good thing about having a Gamestop pre-order. If it turns out the art books are the same, I can always cancel and not worry about them shipping it to me and automatically charging.

When I go to their store I see:

Read it wrong I guess, but they should have clearly said it's still available with collector's edition just that the Day 1 will still get it if ordered at GAME =/
Now that I think about it I do remember the dlc's on their site, forgive my faulty memory only just got the confirmation email after sending off 2 emails asking for it =S
Yeah Namco's bad at communicating their products, it's Ni no Kuni all over again =/

or return it/sell it. that's what i plan to do if the LE turns out to have the same stuff as CE sans statue.

Yes and no. It's technically a $5 statue in the sense that it was given away as a raffle prize, for which tickets cost about $5 each.

Probably more like $10 statue, the Taito game prize figure of P4A's Izanagi I brought from AmiAmi was around that price, and that was for UFO catchers, people would have probably spent more the UFO route as well though =/

I guess I'm one of the few in this thread keeping the Collector's Edition. Where is everyone getting this $5 thing from?

I'm keeping mine for now. No harm in keeping it and waiting until the day of to cancel. That way you can be certain about what you're getting compared to the regular version.

How legit is the site?

As others have said, it is only taking into account that the way to get this figure when it was released in Japan was buying a 5 dollar lottery ticket and having a chance to get it. So, yes it only costs 5 bucks to possibly get this figure.

Yeah. Reading comments from that site, it appeared someone on Rakuten was selling the same figure for about $22 during a sale and the price on the figure actually went up since then.

Well, yeah. Once these things are manufactured, that's generally it. Unless a figure gets a re-release later on, if you didn't pre-order, the aftermarket is your only hope. It's pretty common to see some figures sell for hundreds.

Wasn't there a link earlier to how much the fig goes for on JP auction sites? Would be a lot more reliable to figure out its actual worth.

You would not be able to buy one for $5 so we can probably stop throwing that number around.

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
Does anyone know if Gamestop will be receiving this game on day of release or is it a next day kind of deal?

In this day and age, it's always day of release unless there's unexpected delays in shipping or shortages. Best to call your local store a day or two before release.

Gamestop has been getting games day one for years now. At least from my experience. And unless it's Fire Emblem.

All the games I pre-ordered this year from gamestop except for Anarchy Reigns was a next day pickup after release day. I guess a lot of companies still ship on release date.

They were niche titles though.

What I want to know is if there's a huge release that will make Gamestops have midnight releases, so I can get my Xillia at midnight.

Sorry for the admittedly bad question, but how does Xillia compare to Symphonia? ToS is the only Tales game that I've played, but I enjoyed it tremendously. If Xillia can compare favorably I might preorder it.

Safest thing to do is to wait for actual comparisons before making your decision. Unless you ordered from Amazon, then I guess you could just refuse delivery if you don't want to keep it.
That can be very difficult to do if they drop it off and run off before you can even reach the door, nevermind be out for work/school/whatever.

Plus it's sort of a dick move. Having someone deliver something to you and then not excepting it? Really?

I'll be keeping it too. On the other hand, since I played through the Japanese version already, I might just keep it in its shrink-wrap and worship it as new forever.

The battle system has evolved tremendously since Symphonia.

i'm really still confused bout CE
when i saw the IGN unboxing, the only thing that interests me that the figure has a number, which means it's a limited quantity
but the art book was better compared to the LE, cause it's a big hard book , not a soft cover normal booklet
the OST is separate in CE, included in the game case with LE

i'm not a figure fan, +$40 is too much tho i saved the money since ago

when i saw the CE sold out almost everywhere, i decided to keep it as a rare edition, but when i entered namco store and found it available, thought it's really unfavorable edition mostly

i hate this situation :\

this is an unboxing for the LE / D1, it's the worst ever, but you can see what's in the contents:

OMG
D1 edition leaked in another city in my country for $48, it's really unreachable and i've to wait my local shops to bring it, tho i dont know if it'd be offered for the same price :\

i hate this !!!!!

I don't mind. The fewer CEs sold, the more mine will be worth in the long term. Still liking my copy of the Vesperia CE that's worth over 100 even though its just a steelbook and a soundtrack.

Slasher_Thrasher21 posted in the other Tales of Xillia thread that Newegg cancelled his pre-order. I got the same message today and really think we should call Newegg or something. GameStop is having some issue where if you add the CE to your cart and check out, it will disappear. There is now NO WAY to get the CE of this game unless you're willing to pay over MSRP. (Amazon resellers already have it for more than $160.)

EDIT: After searching around, Namco Bandai's website still has the CE available for pre-order. Shipping and tax WILL be applied however. But it's still better and cheaper than paying for inflated prices on Amazon and eBay.

Those of you who didn't want your statues might be in luck. I just put mine up on eBay ~30 minutes ago and a guy just bought it for $50. So much for it only being worth $5.

They have went from 30$ to 90$. Will just have to wait a few weeks to see what it ends up being worth.

Glad at least LE is for the first print, I had a problem with my old preorder but thankfully it shouldn't be too hard to replace.

It looks like the EU CE come with a thicker artbook than the NA CE, but is paperback rather than the hardcover. That huge USK logo ruins cover art on the gamecase though.
