Two new special 3DS XL for Europe: Luigi and Zelda A Link Between Worlds

Yeah, wow, Christ at that Zelda one. God help me if it comes stateside. It's the first time I've been tempted by a LE paint coat for a system I already have. Dunno how I'd handle it, but it would go so well with my Zelda Wii U gamepad.

Nintendo really loves that Louis Vuitton style, huh?

The Zelda one looks great, though. My DSLite was the Phantom Hourglass one and I loved it - this one looks like the successor.

Wow, I hope it's not Europe exclusive. Though I would like to get one of those 3ds, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are around the corner when that LoZ 3ds is released, so it would probably be better for me to get a normal one on deal.

Oh god, I was expecting both of these XLs to be the usual awful stuff Nintendo had been producing lately but that Zelda XL is a must have.

Please, please don't let that come stateside :'(

I'm so weak...

Ugh, if these come to the US I will be a little pissed. Just bought the Red Pokemon 3DS XL a few days ago after giving up on the Luigi.

I never did a transfer before, but according to here http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/07/guide_3ds_xl_system_transfer everything on the new system will be deleted.
so it probably depends if the Zelda on the special edition 3DSXL is pre installed or in form of a code.
if its preinstalled you cant system transfer, I guess.
Okay I transferred stuff from my XL (which was transferred from my Ambassador OG) onto the Animal Crossing XL back in July. Animal Crossing was preinstalled. After finishing the transfer, Animal Crossing was available in my list of previously downloaded games. So you are able to transfer to a system with preinstalled software and not lose it.

You are aware that Germany is part of Europe? If not, the huge USK logo on the box should give it away.

Are you talking about the box in the OP? That's not USK, it's PEGI.
So far I've only seen UK stuff. There's nothing on nintendo.de or amazon.de :(

I would be surprised if Nintendo of Europe announce a new 3DS edition for Europe and they exclude Germany. Just give these shops some time to add the new versions in their shop :p

The front doesn't look that great, wish it had been black instead. However, this makes me hate NoA with a passion knowing we won't get it.

I've been wanting to upgrade to an XL, but I was crossing my fingers for a Zelda system...

Now just to get an announcement for a stateside release.

Guess that's the box he was talking about. Can't wait to preorder this baby.

Nice!

But dat triforce logo looks way off and i don't know why nintendo didn't put that logo in the center on both sides to make it look more uniform.

As a early 3DS adopter with Aqua Blue, all these fancy 3DSs are really getting to me.

If I upgrade, what will happen to my nintendo "account"?

I'm no expert, but I imagine you'll keep your "account" and you'll lose your digital copy of ALBW.

No. That exact scenario has been brought up a few posts earlier. A pre-installed game will always be in that 3DS' download history. You lose nothing. System transfers would be useless if it didn't work like that. Besides, this comes with a download code, not a pre-installed copy.

I've already bought 2 3DS XLs, there's no way I'm going to buy another one... But on the other hand, that fucking Zelda 3DS is awesome!!! But what am I going to do with another 3DS? Or maybe I can use it? Hmmmm.

Looks amazing, and look at where it's not going to be for sale...

Nintendo of America really doesn't fucking get it...

I'd be completely shocked if Nintendo doesn't release the Zelda XL here, and quite surprised if we don't get Luigi. It's 8:49 am on the west coast right now. I would say it's a bit early to start cursing Nintendo for not release these in NA.

It's never too early. *grumble* I could see Luigi being skipped here since it's not a bundle with Mansion 2, but the quality and timing of the Zelda bundle would be ridiculous if it doesn't come to America.

Does that mean you have to wait until it's up on the eShop to play the game? :/

NA has just got to get these two as well right?
Zelda for sure, but I'm also hoping for Luigi.

The Zelda OG 3DS was announced and shown in an ad for EU first; it made its way to NA also.

I'm certain the Zelda (at least will trickle over to us, in US) will show up.

Two tone and off-center Triforce? No thanks. Was hoping the LoZ LE would be better than that. :(

Well, at least it's better than the red/black and blue/black ones.

We got Animal Crossing and Pikachu. And I think those are the only ones. Have you seen the 3DS XL SMT4 system? Gorgeous. Japan only...

Nevermind, we did get the X and Y ones. But not the gold colored one (I don't think...?).

Amazon are charging £200 for the limited edition Zelda/XL bundle. No offence to Nintendo fans, but isn't that slightly extortionate? I mean, for not much more, you can have a Wii U. And the Vita being considerably cheaper makes the 3DS bundle look like a right rip off. You're essentially paying premium rates for substandard tech.

With that being said however, I've placed my pre-order with Amazon, but will most likely cancel anyway.

I'd like the Zelda one a bit more if it was all gold. Even the buttons and the trim around the screen. The black just doesn't go with it in my opinion.

In Europe, on thursday around 4PM... The game will release on a friday. usually the big first party games are available on the eshop around midnight, I mean in the night between thursday and friday.

Well that sucks. I guess it will be a nice paperweight for the first day or two.

There are a lot of Japanese systems we didn't get (Eevee, Charizard, Dragon Quest Monsters slime bundle holla :(), but I don't think there are many/any 3DS SKUs that were released in Europe and not the US.

Why would Nintendo fans be offended by you criticizing amazon's pricing?

The 200 tag is weird, though. Regular 3DS XL costs 150 GBP and the game is 33 pounds standalone so around 185 pounds would be more appropriate. But then again you're buying a limited edition model so ... it's not like you don't have other, cheaper options to get an XL and the game.
