Penello seems unconcerned, but I'm not sure the tweets make much sense, since we know the Titanfall footage is stock:

Oh my god.

This is a scam and a half. You can easily negotiate this with companies. It's done all the goddamn time. See Samsung's new SmartTV as an example. Their commercial has content so they can show off the UI.

Either Microsoft didn't think of doing that, or shit is going wonky

"We've just realized that absolutely no one at Microsoft has the license to drive this console release."

I wonder if they are planning to delay it.

I was watching that Sessler's video where he was talking about why they won't "review" console hardware and he said something like "I can't wait for November ::looked down/fake under breathe:: December".

Wasn't sure exactly what he may be referring to.

As long as both consoles can play (offline) games without crashing and as long as there is at least one good game available from them, it is worth releasing. Launch is not as important as delivering right after launch. Wii U was horrible at launch, but what killed it was the drought after launch.
Yep, if they don't delay, both companies will sell out through the holiday season. If they delay, they would have to push release to the worst time to release a console (right after everyone has already spent their extra money on luxury items). They should both release now. The launch hype will give out right about when the new wave of games (and probably OS fixes for MS) come out.

Man... at the risk of sounding like an apologist. No shit. But those licensing deals don't get done over night.

There are probably other alternatives, but licensing is a bitch and a half.

Right now GAF is just a big pimple.

every tweet and rumor about the xbox one is a bunch of oil and dirt building up in that pimple

and as soon as bish or cboat squeak they will be the squeeze of doom from the fingers of information

the juicy, puss like truth will squirt and ooze out all over us.
jesus man... graphic.

How are those 'licensing' issues going to play out when the system launches and people stream everything through twitch? Will it not allow you to stream anything but gameplay?

Ms need to come out now and spill the beans for their own good before the fire gets out of control.

What if CBOATS bombshell is that Microsoft has run out of clouds

No I didn't forget, I just put that under the unspecified "other issues" since the Sony insiders to my knowledge have not been very clear as to the nature of what the problems specifically are.

Ah ok. True on the lack of detail. Either they aren't really big issues or Sony's been good and keeping these kind of leaks tied off.

Is 300mb really a "deal" for anyone though? That's literally like 2 minutes on most modern connections..

Well it was a part of the 1.5 feature thread, so it might as well be included in the list in one way or another. Not a big deal, but I would assume some would call it a negative.

Licensing issues to doing a direct feed of your company's own OS? o_O
If this is true he just admitted to the UI being full of paid advertisements. And damn I get home from university and there have 3 mega threads come and go good god.

Da fuq?

Are people seriously suppose to rely on these post production UI videos until launch? Does he not realize how sketchy that is?

Hardly going to stop a smartphone camera recording the UI though, is it?

I doubt it will stream dashboard stuff on either console.

Yeah I wonder too what he meant. Why even mention December haha

"GAF's biggest wanker"
I didn't say it was "the same." I just said the negative shit is flooding from all corridors right now...
Is it the not the same or is flooding from all corridors without distinction? Kinda makes it sound the same.

PS4 has a had a small stream of bad news, but nothing that would cause a flood. The flooding is really coming from one quarter right now.

Is there a chance that this whole thing is simply a couple of devs not liking the fact that they have to work overtime during crunch or have low moral?

What better way to fuck over your employer than to 'leak' a load of shit that could be true but is actually par for the course during the run up to a hardware release. Honest question?

I just don't know what to believe anymore.

Yea Mort and CBoat are ragging haven't you read their posts. Working at EA must suck. I heard that is who employs both of them.

Ok. This right here is the most damning evidence of something f'up with with the OS

It is. You can dodge questions and blurt out non-answers for so long before people catch on that something is obviously very wrong.

The system will be a mess at launch. None of this will matter 6 months from now in terms of user experience, but if all these shortcomings hit the mainstream for 6 months before then the platform will forever play second fiddle to the PS4 in terms of adoption and general reputation.

Oh. I guess these qualify as bad news.

Still nothing quite on the scale of 'the OS is broken, the network is broken, the games are barely an upgrade on current gen and won't improve much over time'.

I mean I'm not trying to scratch score cards here, just expressing my frustration that both companies seem content with letting people be surprised at the last minute by shit like this. I know stuff like the DriveClub delay is unavoidable because crunch for launch deadlines always means things are fluid until the last possible moment, but at least I wish these companies would give us guidance about the general progress. Because right now a whole host of problems could be present on both platforms with all the insider reports we've got and we'd have no way to know until the last possible moment.

That's not fair to any consumers.

You can easily negotiate this with companies. It's done all the goddamn time. See Samsung's new SmartTV as an example. Their commercial has content so they can show off the UI.

It's just really crazy how blind we're going into these launches. I really wish they would understand the backlash will be ten times worse if people are 'surprised' by these issues, but I'm just a single poster... I hope everyone gets their shit together in time, either way.

Man... y'all are not being fair with the licensing issues here. Theres a lot of stuff being ignored, oversimplified, etc re: that issue.

But there are ways to show it if they really wanted to, ie blurring out a bunch of stuff.
