@Yosp: Sony won't ban you for connecting before launch

I really hope the dude gets unbanned and the person who done the banning loses their job. Fucking assholes.

To be fair, Sony can't really ban people from playing early since they are sending out systems early to the Taco Bell winners.

Still, I'm not supporting MS's move in this case and they probably need to be called out on it.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't find this awesome. Kinda think its petty and a little silly to be honest.

Yea its silly and all in good fun when MS remotely bans your console that you paid $500+ on. Yep we all have a laugh and just buy a new one!

For Sony to still think rationally in this gaming world, its a blessing.

This doesn't answer anything. The question needs to be: would I get banned for posting pictures/videos of the ps4 UI and games on social media before launch?

Since that twitter user is from the EU most likely, no he wouldn't get banned for posting anything because the PS4 would be out for two weeks already.

It's not exactly rocket science. Wait for MS to do something pointlessly draconian, then announce that you're not doing the pointlessly draconian thing and wait for the plaudits to roll in. You don't need PR bootcamp for that, you just need to not be pulling completely pointless dick moves for no reason.

It's actually extremely difficult for big companies to have a consistent PR when people are constantly going up for interviews.

It sounds easy on paper, but when you have a thousand tentacles, things start to slip. What amazes me is the consistency and speed of which the responses have been. It's unlike what I've seen at any other point. Of course, social media is probably the primary cause of the speed, but it doesn't explain the consistency... if anything, social media would make that worse :)

Are you serious? It's a two letter response to a twitter question, answered nonchalantly like every other question people throw at him

Was everyone at Sony put into some PR training boot camp? The change from the PS3 era is... just so insanely huge... so consistent. Everyone is on the same page. Everyone seems to have a similarly shit-eating grin sense of humour. Everyone understands who their consumer is and what to say to them. Everyone knows exactly what PS4 is for.

Part of it is just having a system that's easier to sell and that the employees can get behind without having to make excuses. When the higher-ups start making stupid decisions, the bad PR follows naturally. See Music Unlimited and the mp3 thing; if Shuhei or another executive decided they needed to hold their ground the entire PR chain would've been miserable.

Most of the people at the top aren't the same anymore anyway, or have moved around in the process.

Spencer => Yoshida
Kutaragi => House
Reeves => Ryan

And they've managed to stop Tretton from saying stupid things this time.

THE WORDS! They'll drift away without the _!
You do have to wonder how early before launch they'd tolerate. Never going to know though.

I'm getting both next gen systems and I just want to say at some point MS just has to stop being so dumb. Unban the guy NOW and let the angry internet know it was a mistake and that he's been unbanned, it isn't really hard at all. Jesus MS let me do your PR I'll do it for half of what you're currently shelling out and do the job a hundred times better...

Major nelson apparently wants to talk to that guy who got banned. I smell an unbanning

@Moonlightswami Love to know more about what happened w/ your console. Can you follow and DM me and I'll get this sorted out? Thanks.

That's good.

They're cheaper, they're more powerful, they didn't try to fuck us and they only talk about games...to gamers. It would be impossible for them to not all be on the same page. I have never seen a company handle pre-launch so fucking smoothly. It's amazing.

Like taking candies from a (mentally challenged) baby.

Aww man, leave mentally challenged babies out of it.

If MS came out and said "we banned this guy for posting videos on youtube", Sony would come out tomorrow on Twitter announcing their new love of youtube videos. It's fish in a barrel, free PR. MS' is just toxic at the moment.
Sony should send the guy a console and get him to do an unboxing.

This shouldn't be applauded. It's just common fucking sense. I don't understand why Xbox keep giving themselves all these self-inflicted wounds.

Always easy to put a finger in the wind and then say whatever they think people want to hear.

Petter than putting your dick out in the wind and be surprised as your piss splashes all over yourself.
