Wow, the menus are smooth now. They used to stutter and be unresponsive for a few moments after loading.

This damn game. I spent an hour playing Lego City earlier and decided it would be my game to play for the night. I was even thinking that I might just focus on other games instead of Ghosts. After a shower I decide to check in on Ghosts. Hours later and I am still playing. Kill Confirmed is damn fun.

Wii U Patch is awesome. The game feels very very smooth. Smoother than the first time i played it when the game just came out. You can tell right from the moment you start the game. Usually there was a lag in the main menu but thats gone now so you can have an idea of how the game runs.

My Nat type used to be set on moderate and now Open for some reason. I guess the patch fixed that (?)... Thats helping me find more people and getting into lobbies faster than before and also getting into my friends lobby and they can now get into mine. We couldn't do it before. Textures load faster and i didnt notice any frame drops at least not huge ones like before. The overall experience is so much better. I was about to sell this game but it looks like its staying home.

Re-Review Wii U version and PS4's, anyone?

Just finished the SP. If 4 hours is the new norm for CoD campaigns I'm cool with that. These types of campaigns start to drain after a while anyway.

I really dug this one a lot though. Probably the best SP since the original MW/MW2. I really liked the actual conflict this time even if there was a serious lack of explanation for who are and what the "Federation" want and junk lol.

Thank da LORD that they didn't go the obvious route and kill Riley to tug at the heart strings. Was really rolling my eyes hard when he got shot till I walked up to him and saw you could carry him. I nearly expected the typical COD tough guy ham fisted approach, and that I was gonna get a RT trigger prompt to put Riley down.

I even enjoyed the on rail segments in this. Overall I give it a 8/10. There was a little bit of laziness in coming up with the set pieces I could see, from the Bane escape Rouke pulls off, to ANOTHER helicarrier/oil drill assault like freaking Black Ops 2/BF4/MW2 but the games fun factor and briskness made up for it. Dat twist at the end tho got me. I figured he wasn't dead but I didn't think he'd be back that soon lol.

Tbh I was expecting Captain Price to be apart of the recon group coming for them which brings me to my question, has IW ever stated if this is apart of the MW continuity or not? It seems like it could fit, about 10-20 years later.

Supposedly it is not. Price and crew do not exist in this world.

interesting. I have to check it for myself. I did play last night after the patch and it did help me to find lobbies faster.

I pre-ordered this game for PS4 primarily for the single-player experience, and it arrived yesterday, but after reading this review I'm not sure if I'm keeping it:

http://www.pcgamer.com/review/call-of-duty-ghosts-pc-review/

Boredom is absolutely not allowed as the campaign pelts you with action vignettes—including a scene directly snagged from the opening of The Dark Knight Rises—and repeats its mantra ad nauseam: “Keep moving!”
Frustratingly, even the decision to follow the constantly barked “keep moving” order can get me killed.

I tend to favor stealthy shooters like Deus Ex: HR and Dishonored, and I think I would find that really annoying if the game is barking orders at me and didn't give me the time to look around, take in the sights, enjoy the graphics. But wait...Gamespot's video review at 00:21 says:

It tells a lean, straight forward story that throws you into plenty of spectacular situations but with the breathing room to soak it all in and the freedom to take things at your own pace.

So which is it?

Victrix

*beard*
It is 100% on rails action hollywood explosions and military bros

It is not a freeform exploring action game

Probably my favorite cod campaign since cod4 or mw2, but uh, not a high bar we're talking about here.

Hey. Since you're junior, I'll just assume you didn't know better, but there are spoiler tags and a preview button available. You should really use those, because I just took in a few major spoilers I really wish I hadn't.

So is texture loading speed the usual speed or still slow than usual?

Because people were posting up-close pics of slow loading (or even failed to load) textures, was this in the other versions?

And is the FPS a steady 60 now? How bad was it before?

So which is it?

note: I've played everything up till ghosts, except that one.

The whole disconnect between what the game is saying and what you're actually supposed to do has been a huge problem since cod 2 and has gotten progressively worse, to the point where you can safely ignore ANYTHING the game tells you to and just play according to whatever rule you can figure out that the code has in play.

Like trigger locations being placed wrong or awkwardly, timed 'player death' events, including quite a few that are short as hell or placed just behind a QTE of some sort, and so on, and so on. Oh, and of special notice is the ever returning 'stealth section', with an absolutely absurd example occuring early on in Black Ops 2.

The design of Call of Duty campaigns in general should be an example in the range below Legendary, Haze, Bulletwitch, or any shooter that has been proclaimed to be 'bad'. Those games are playable to their best efforts. CoD campaign will throw random bullshit that makes it borderline unplayable, IF you were playing by what the game tells you to do.

Honestly, some of the more criticed campaign's like BF3's are far better than the junk CoD presents as 'campaign'. I would be very, very surprised if Ghosts suddenly broke that trend, and what those quotes tell me, is that it doesn't.

Sorry, was just quick posting from my phone. I edited it. Though I did put capped "SPOILERS" warnings lol.

Finally got a good team and beat Extinction. Dayum that final run was intense, I was in the red just as I got to the evac. We all escaped and it felt soooo good. Those turrets really are the best strike package, we had about 6 up at any given moment and it was an absolute meat grinder towards the end. I don't understand why IW makes them complete garbage in MP though.

I have a question for the early PS4 owners, were you able to download the Free Fall map?

I entered the code and nothing happened.
As in no download happened? Or you just aren't seeing the map? I think the map might be on disc already or is a small download, can't remember. It's also FFA only so you might have it downloaded but playing something other than FFA.

I noticed that the Wii U patch is out!

Can anybody post any perceivable improvements.

I can't really see any difference apart from my guy head disappearing in the intermission screen!

I'm having issues with PS3 to PS4 upgrade program. Anyone successfully upgrade their digital hardened edition?!

I purchased digital hardened edition on PS3. When I upgraded the PS4 version (I specifically selected the upgrade offer provided in hardened edition section of the store), it only downloaded the regular game.

I downloaded season pass seperately and yet I still don't see any of the bonuses provided with hardened edition. I don't even see Free Fall map. When I go to PSN store, it says I own the regular edition of PS4 game, and hardened edition of PS3 game. I see all the purchases in my history but nothing happens.

When I go to in-game store, nothing shows up. The fuck is this shit? :/

Calling Sony but its a long wait! Wondering if others had the same issue.

I haven't seen framerate issues in MP since the patch went up, although some of the cases I encountered before were special due to the semi-dynamic nature of the maps and I haven't encountered those scenarios again yet. For example, the framerate dropped quite a bit in Sovereign when mist gets deployed, but I have not seen the event since the patch. Anyone know if they patched it out or is it still there?

Also weird, my game crashed in the Extinction lobby last night when I was trying to look at lobby leaderboards.

Bought it Friday. Finished it just now. Mediocre in every way, especially compared to the previous 2 Blops games. A lot of recycled ideas and missions.

Foreign boogeyman is now switched to Latin Americans, and of course they're needlessly cruel with the random civilian murdering.

Glad they tried nothing manipulative with Riley. He's only in half the missions and mostly at the beginning. Nothing but a gimmick that's quickly ditched.

Hard to feel sorry for the US. They built a space-based WMD that was meant to destroy whole cities and tear apart lives exactly the same way it happened to the characters at the start. Then the Federation goes and shows that a non-WMD version was just as feasible.

Every time your brother's name was mentioned I kept picturing this:

Is anyone else noticing really low volume output on PS4? I really have to crank my system in order to hear speech but explosions are louder than fuck.

I have noticed this. Character chatter and explosions are the two main things I hear. Gunshots sound muffled(Sounds like your in a submarine) and it's hard to figure out if the shots are near or far.

I wonder how many people playing in this thread realize the mechanics behind the operations list.

I have no clue how it works but I really don't need to. I've already got my first 3 squad members completely outfitted with everything they need and none of them are above level 30 yet.

Agreed. It's easily the worst map. Reminds me of a MW3 map. In general, the maps need less entrances/exits, but Sovereign is so small you can't get a breath.

And the awful spawns don't help.

My goal on Sovereign is to find the back of the map and run back fourth through 3 or 4 rooms. My path looks like a little horseshoe. Then again I play mostly TDM. I'd HATE to have to play any objective mode other than S&D on that map.

The latest PC patch improved the performances, but I still have some stutter, no sign of dedi servers or any appreciable improvement in netcode and community is almost dead. Good game, 'Infinity Ward'.

My least favorite is Stormfront. They could have split it in half and made 2 maps out of it and the maps would still be too big. Shit always ends up as a huge campfest when I play on it.

The call of duty app isn't compatible with the Nexus 7 tablet. Really?

It was on the store for one day, then they took it down. Now when I open the app it says it needs to be updated and I can't use it at all.

I'm sort of disappointed that the squads feature seems a bit shit. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding it. But it just seems like a lot of predefined characters you can unlock for a crapload of squad points. Offline instantly unlocks anything, so you can't use offline play towards progress either. I thought they were supposed to play for you and level you up while you were offline. Or is that all just pie in the sky guff? Or is it because I'm on the Wii U?

Otherwise, having a lot of fun with it. Support package seems a tad OP as it doesn't reset killstreaks with death, but the dog is the whole reason I bought the game so I'm not giving that up. :3

My squad has had 5 offline matches without me so far. They are 1-4.

Edit: Actually they are 2-3.

I just beat the SP campaign. I'm surprised how much fun a had. Tons of great set-pieces, and dat ending.

I think every SP since MW2 has been dull (never even got through two levels of MW3), though Blops 2 was crazy-fun. This kept things a bit more down to earth (lol) but with tons of variety and enjoyable Michael Bay moments.

I went from playing this on the PS3 to the PS4, and I really thought it looked remarkable. Even as primarily a PC gamer with a high-end rig, it was very nice to see how Ghosts looked and ran on the PS4.

Perhaps it was my extremely low expectations, but I think the campaign ain't too bad. The scenarios are interesting and varied and it just seems more focused as far as characters and conflicts are concerned.

There are indeed frequent frame rate drops, especially at unexpected places. But the dips are quite small and only last for a fraction of a moment. If I wasn't looking for them, I not have even noticed them half the time.

That's weird because all I hear are gunshots and explosions while character voices sound like they are off in the distance.

Just beat the campaign and I'm surprised how much I enjoyed it! Maybe I just had low expectations....

What an awful, awful awful credits song though. How can people listen to that shit?

That map where everything is fucked up and a mess is the worst map I've ever had the misfortune of playing on. It is absolute garbage. Shit. Crap. Blergh.

The one with the castle kinda sucks too but you can camp it out pretty easily.

Free Fall?

That map is all kinda of chaos, which I like. Really good for objectives, and interestingly balanced for the two sides, but again, instant respawn kinda fucks with the flow.

I find most of the other maps I've played that allow for more long range engagement are pretty shit though. I've skipped quite a few CoD games now, but map design has never been the strong suit of multiplayer. Almost consistently horrible in my experience because of how they try to balance asymmetry.

Nah that's not the one. It's like a ruined downtown area.
