Who bids on this sort of thing? Is there really someone out there who suddenly gets an itch for retro games and buys a complete, six figure priced collection? You'd need an empty room on hand just to display it.
If it doesn't have the rares it's not worth it.
NWC? Little Sampson? Stadium Events? ect.
He said he is building a new house and already has this stuff boxes up and will probably remain that way until he moves in in a year or so. He explained that he figured it would just be sitting anyways that he could see if he gets an offer that would get him to sell and put most towards the house and rebuild a smaller collection.Interesting. How can a child make you sell your collection? What is the point of amassing a collection and only to sell it later? A collection of this size is worth keeping it than selling it. I would understand if it were a small collection.
I mean, why spend all that time, money and energy and then get rid of it all later?
Someone in the NA thread that was linked kind of blew him up on his description, don't know if he changed it. Was basically that he said it was 'complete' collections but were missing many rare games. If it doesn't have the rares it's not worth it.
NWC? Little Sampson? Stadium Events? ect.
$164,000 for 5700+ games and 50+ systems?
Does that seem like too low a price to anyone else?
That's what I was thinking
Ballpark, what should it be priced at? I have no idea what the market is for something like this.
what are the 2 red snes cartridges?
The Guiness Book World record holder collection (I think 7500+ games) had a highest confirmed real bid of $99k from Palmer Luckey, who is a multi-millionaire.
I doubt this $164k BIN will get hit.
Reminds me of this guy's epic PC game collection:
Holy crap, imagine how much sexual intercourse he must get on the regular.
What are those clear NES carts that are facing out. GBA collections or something?
And only 6 WiU games. That's gotta tell you something.
Holy crap, imagine how much sexual intercourse he must get on the regular.
Must be a PITA to dust them off.
Holy crap, imagine how much sexual intercourse he must get on the regular.
He's got a wife and an adorable daughter. But I'm sure it's not as much as a guy who asks for dating advice on a video game forum.
OMG
I NEED THOSE BOOKSHELVES
THIS!
Where does one find black media shelves that are that tall?
I think it's cool that he has taken the time to collect everything. How the fuck do you know all of those games still work though, would take forever to test them too.Amazing collection my ass. Only an obsessive collector would think having the entire library of a system, or as they call it, a complete set, is cool. If that was how my shelves were lined I would have to take the 90-95% utter dog shit that makes up the vast majority of games on any console directly down to the dump before I could stand to look at it.
