I think the one people will be more surprised with is when CoD sells better on PS4 this year.
Until Dawn had very little marketing, so is more dependant on word of mouth.

Parliamo del mese di Metal Gear e di Destiny, giochi pubblicizzati per PlayStation 4.
Xbox one ha dalla sua il marketing di FIFA 16 e l'esclusiva di Forza MotorSport 6.
FIFA è un gioco che negli Stati Uniti ha successo, ma non è minimamente paragonabile al successo che ha in Europa. Giochi come Madden o NBA sono più grandi, specialmente Madden.
Stessa cosa si può dire di Forza MotorSport, gioco di corse, e come tale, vende bene soprattutto in Europa, ormai i giochi di corse negli USA hanno avuto un calo enorme, l'unico che può fare eccezioni per ovvi motivi, è la saga di Mario Kart.
Inoltre, è importante dire che per quel che si è visto fino ad ora le vendite di Forza 6 sono state molto deludenti per la saga...
In UK il gioco ha debuttato con meno di 40,000 unità la prima settimana, mentre i precedenti Forza 3 e 4 su 360 debuttarono con 80,000 e 100,000 rispettivamente, persino Forza Horizon 2 fece più.
Nonostante ciò, sia FIFA che Forza hanno i rispettivi bundle e sono ben pubblicizzati, quindi aiuteranno.
Ci sta pure il bundle di Taken King per PS4...
Ma per quello che mi riguarda, il gioco più grande del mese è ovviamente Metal Gear Solid V.
Metal Gear è una serie nettamente stretta a PlayStation, e anche se su XBOX qualche vendita la farà, avrà più o meno lo stesso effetto di un'esclusiva su PS4.
E il gioco starà sul mercato per un mese intero, questo garantirà ottime vendite.
In Inghilterra Phantom Pain è stato in versione PS4 ( quindi non tutte le versioni ) il secondo più grande capitolo di Metal Gear dopo Sons of liberty.
Ha persino venduto più di guns of the patriots nonostante fosse un'esclusiva... C'è ovviamente bisogno di menzionare che: UK =/= Mondo, infatti se vediamo paesi come il Giappone le cose sono andate abbastanza diversamente con tutte le versioni PS3+PS4 a vendere meno dei capitoli precedenti, ma qui sono complici le deludenti vendite di PS4 in quel territorio, quindi l'Inghilterra è un metro di giudizio nettamente migliore...
Ad ogni modo, anche se le cose possono andare diversamente, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in versione PS4 soltanto dovrebbe vendere più di Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriots.
Guns of Patriots vendette in 2 settimane 995,000 unità negli Stati Uniti, di cui 220,000 provenienti dal bundle di PS3...
Quindi se pensiamo che Phantom Pain avrà un'intero mese di vendite, 1 milione in versione PS4 sembra molto probabile.
Metal Gear e Destiny aumenteranno notevolmente le vendite di PlayStation 4 e garantiranno una grande vittoria per PS4.
C'è bisogno di dire che PS4 non riuscirà mai a vendere quanto fece l'anno scorso, grazie al primo Destiny che vendette la bellezza di 3 milioni di unità e spinse le vendite di PlayStation 4 a ben 538,000 unità. Sarei sorpreso anche solo se PS4 si avvicinasse a questi numeri...
Xbox one invece potrebbe vendere più dell'anno scorso, non ne sono certo. Xbox one ha venduto 284,000 unità a Settembre 2014, e ha fatto 202,000 ad Agosto 2015 grazie al bundle di Madden e all'esclusiva di Gears Ultimate e Rare Replay. Sarà interessante vedere se Xbox one continuerà a vendere più dell'anno scorso.
SETTEMBRE: Vittoria di PS4.
Ottobre
Qui bisogna fare attenzione, perché ci sta un fattore importante da calcolare che potrebbe seriamente sballare ogni previsione, parlo di un possibile taglio di prezzo di PS4.
Ormai è chiaro come il sole che Sony taglierà il prezzo negli USA prima di fine anno.
Lo ha fatto in Giappone, lo ha fatto in Europa, non lo fa negli USA, il mercato più importante, dove è lì che la concorrenza è forte?
Bisogna solo vedere quando.
Io personalmente non credo verrà fatto ad Ottobre, quindi le mie previsioni si basano su una situazione simile a quella vista in tutti gli altri mesi, PS4 400$ VS XB1 350$.
Detto ciò assumendo che PS4 rimarrà a 400$ per ottobre:
Dopo il grande boost di Settembre grazie a Metal Gear e Destiny, PS4 parte bene ad Ottobre con l'esclusiva di Uncharted Trilogy con tanto di bundle.
E alla 3° settimana del mese arriva anche Assassin's Creed Syndacate, pubblicizzato per PS4...
...Ma poi arriviamo a fine mese, e le cose per PS4 si mettono molto, MOLTO male, per il motivo che sanno tutti...
Halo è una delle serie più grandi che esistano, SOPRATTUTTO negli Stati Uniti.
Ottobre avrà 4 giorni di vendita di Halo 5. Basteranno per contrastare Uncharted Trilogy che è stata nel mercato per un intero mese e Assassin's Creed che ha avuto una settimana di vantaggio?
Sì.
Bastano e avanzano. Halo è una serie che per essere un'esclusiva fa vendite impressionanti, negli Stati Uniti poi, è persino più grande di Destiny.
Come detto in precedenza, Destiny vendette 3 milioni il primo mese negli USA, ed è stato in commercio per ben 25 giorni... bene, Halo 3 a Settembre 2007 in soli 10 giorni vendette 3.3 milioni, di cui 2 milioni solo al D1.
E' doveroso parlare di quello che fu l'aumento di Xbox 360, che a Settembre 2007 riusci per la prima volta in assoluto nell'impresa titanica di vendere più della Wii, che ai tempi era letteralmente invincibile.
Di poco, veramente poco, ma ci riusci.
SETTEMBRE 2007

Per 360 è stato un risultato strabiliante dal momento che la Wii faceva vendite che a confronto PlayStation 4 sembra Wii U... per fare capire ancora meglio di che mostro stiamo parlando, sappiate che nel 2008 per i primi 6 mesi di mercato ( e anche più ), la Wii ha venduto più di Xbox one e PlayStation 4 messe insieme nel 2015.
Tutto questo per dire che se la 360 riesce a superare la Wii grazie ad Halo, One può benissimo superare PlayStation 4 almeno per un mese.
Uncharted trilogy e Assassin's Creed messi insieme non riusciranno a vendere più di Halo 5 ad Ottobre.
Dal momento che Halo 3 debutto con 3,300,000, mi aspetto che Halo 5 venda dai 2 milioni ai 2.5 milioni, diventando il gioco più venduto per i primi 10 mesi dell'anno.
Come già detto, le cose potrebbero andare decisamente diversamente se Sony decide di fare un taglio di prezzo, questo è il motivo che rende ottobre il mese più difficile da prevedere, perché se ci fosse un taglio di prezzo per PS4 allora sì che sarebbe un mese interessante...
Detto ciò, non penso accadrà ad Ottobre.
Ottobre: Vittoria di XBOX ONE.
Novembre
Qui cominciano le vere vendite.
Xbox one uscirà da Ottobre con il recente boost di Halo 5, quindi si può dire inizia bene il mese, ma PlayStation 4 pure non perde tempo ed inizia il mese con quello che in assoluto colosso di questo periodo.
Per la prima volta dopo anni Call of Duty starà dalla parte di Sony, il che sarà un bel problema per Microsft... partiamo con il dire che Black Ops III ha pre orders superiori a quelli di Advanced Warfare, e per la prima volta dopo anni, Call Of Duty dovrebbe avere un'aumento rispetto al capitolo precedente.
Qui potete vedere come sono andate le cose da Modern Warfare fino ad Advanced Warfare.
Black Ops III mi aspetto debutti meglio di Advanced Warfare ma peggio di Ghost.
Le vendite di PlayStation 4 esploderanno questa settimana, mentre quelle di One dovrebbero calare dopo il boost di Halo, ma non drasticamente visto che ci sta appunto Black Ops III ad aiutare.
In seguito, arrivano Rise of the Tomb Raider e Fallout 4 per Xbox one...
Microsoft ha annunciato nuovi "misteriosi" bundle in arrivo per XB1, molto probabilmente si trattano di loro.
Fallout 3 debutto con 375,000 unità vendute i primi 3 giorni per Xbox 360 nel lontano ottobre 2008.
L'hype per Fallout 4 è grande, molto grande, non ho dubbi venderà più, ma confrontato con un mostro come Black Ops III che farà milioni e milioni non è che potrà fare molto...
Stessa cosa si può dire per Tomb Raider... questi giochi possono dare una spinta, ma non sono in grado di far vendere milioni di console.
Arriviamo poi a Star Wars: Battlefront, ennesimo gioco pubblicizzato per PlayStation 4 con tanto di bundle...
EA prevede di vendere ( vendere = distribuire ) 10 milioni di copie di Battlefront a fine Marzo 2016... usando quelle che sono le stime di EA, posso dire che Battlefont dovrebbe avere un lancio simile a quello di Destiny, con 3 milioni di unità vendute a Novembre 2015 negli USA.
Questo basta e avanza per dare un'ennesima grande crescita a PS4. E anche a Xbox one, ovviamente inferiore...
Infine, arriva il Black Fiday, l'ultima settimana del mese che vale la metà se non più di quelle che sono le vendite di Novembre. Senza ombra di dubbio la settimana più importante dell'anno negli USA.
Qui è interessante, perché fino ad ora Xbox one ha sempre vinto.
A Novembre 2013 era anche costretta a vincere, per il semplice fatto che PS4 era letteralmente impossibile da comprare, Sony ha sottovalutato la domanda, e non ha potuto vendere se non per il D1, dove PlayStation 4 fece 1 milione di unità la prima settimana negli USA, ma "solo" 1,138,000 l'intero mese...
A Novembre 2014 invece Xbox one ha vinto per il semplice fatto che era oggettivamente un'affare migliore.
Prezzo più basso, migliori bundle, e più giochi.
La cosa più importante del Black Friday sarà il prezzo.
E qui arriviamo alla questione più importante.
Come già detto prima, Sony è ad un passo così dal fare un taglio di prezzo, e se non accade ad Ottobre, allora è definitivamente Novembre il mese del price drop.
Sony ormai può permettersi dopo tanto tempo di vendere PlayStation 4 per 350$ come prezzo ufficiale.
Microsoft invece è stata molto più veloce, è dall'anno scorso che vende Xbox one a 350$, e con questa mossa pur vincendo in fatto di vendite, hanno perso un sacco di soldi...
Per questo, anche se tentato, Phil Spencer penso adatterà un'altra strategia per Xbox one, il prezzo ufficiale rimarrà 350$ secondo me.
Ovviamente su Amazon / GameStop ecc ci saranno un sacco di offerte, tagli di prezzo non ufficiali a 300 / 320 $, e aiuteranno moltissimo, ma come prezzo UFFICIALE avremo PS4 e XB1 a 350$.
Sarà una bella sfida durante il Black Friday, ma per Novembre, vedo vincitrice PlayStation 4... ha semplicemente una line up migliore e molta gente aspettava un taglio di prezzo per comprarla.

L'unica cosa importante da dire è che a Dicembre uscirà il film di Star Wars, e questo aiuterà un casino le vendite di Battlefront... e di PS4... di conseguenza:

Bene, questo è quello che prevedo per quest'anno negli USA, più o meno, direi di aver detto tutto...
Mah, dal momento che son Nintendaro 2 parole su Nintendo sono d'obbligo per me:
Mi limito a dire che 3DS grazie alla nuova versione uscita a Febbraio 2015 dovrebbe vendere più dell'anno scorso, e che Wii U avrà quella che sarà dopo Halo 5 l'esclusiva più grande dell'anno, Splatoon, che venderà facilmente oltre un milione di unità nel 2015, e che non si fermerà qui.
Questo è sicuramente un risultato leggendario per una nuova IP esclusiva su una console come Wii U.
Questo commento verrà usato per le mie previsioni Statunitensi da qui a fine anno.

Questo è sicuramente un risultato leggendario per una nuova IP esclusiva su una console come Wii U.

The 2DS price drop was announced in August, but it didn't take affect until the September NPD period. If there was any effect from it, it'd probably be to lower August 2DS sales for those days between the announcement and the price drop.

For September, we have the 2DS price drop all month (probably not a huge deal) and the introduction of the regular n3DS via the Happy Home Designer bundle on Sept. 25. I'm expecting some kind of a bump from that. Not everyone wants the HHD game, but the n3DS has the interchangeable faceplaces. That makes this basically a white n3DS at a $20 premium for people that don't care about the game.
Rub it in why don't you. Should've checked back in sooner to lower my 3DS number after people clarified the 2DS discount didn't start until September. Ah well at least I'm in the top 10 for yearly. Here's hoping I can bump a few ranks next month.
Also, a bit off topic but, can someone explain to me what the big deal is with Minecraft? My nephew just showed me the game and I'm just not seeing why its so massively successful. It's like a digital playset with bizarre blocky graphics. I mean its fun for a little while maybe but the way people stream it and post videos on youtube you would think it is some sort of amazing game where the gameplay never gets old. Maybe this is my "I'm too old for this shit" moment. I am just absolutely befuddled by the success this game has enjoyed.

You can do a lot in Minecraft. It is a sandbox for you to play in and with friends, the enjoyment value sky rockets. When 360 Minecraft launched, my group of friends would just build communities and fuck around, and because of the randomness of the world's, you always experience something different. After so many years of constant updates, it just builds and builds on itself with features that add even more to game for you to come back to.

Well, I play Minecraft just to surpass my own creations every time. After finishing a building, I'd just go mining again to collect even more resources to build a much larger building. I'd like to think of it as a way to improvise my creativity. That's what keeps me coming back every time, but lately, I haven't been touching it.
