So will the green party actually get somewhere locally in 2018 with the additional funds that they would never see in any other situation?

In a shocking twist (shocking for all who didn't think Hillary was pushing for a recount), she joined Jill Stein in suing the Wisconsin Election Commission, demanding a hand recount.

Clinton's attorneys filed a motion Tuesday seeking to join the lawsuit, arguing the recount could affect her. They also filed a memo supporting the push for a hand recount, saying that method is the most transparent for the public and will ensure the most accurate results.

Shocking.

Anyway, Hillary and Stein''s hand recount request was denied

State officials said there was no legal basis for forcing counties to use a hand recount since there was no evidence it was better than electronic tallies in this case and would delay the process for the counties that weren't already planning to count ballots by hand.

There is nothing wrong with wanting a recount, but at least be transparent about it.

Good, now Michigan is following suit it looks like, here in Michigan we charge $125 per precinct, but that law is pretty old, so it actually costs a couple thousand per for the state to actually do it. This would have cost taxpayers millions to do something that won't change shit.

Some updates.

Pennsylvania's results are now final with all absentee ballots and recounts done. Trump's lead shrank from 71k to 49k, by and large due to these absentee ballots. I personally find this suspicious. A state court will hear arguments over whether or not to do a statewide recount on Monday after several lower courts threw the case out on several grounds. It is likely that a state recount won't happen.

In Michigan, the state canvasses board deadlocked at 2-2 on whether a recount should proceed and how to do it. A hand recount would cost the state upwards of $15 million. The recount is expected to begin Wednesday. However, the State Supreme Court, a 5-2 Republican tilt, is going to determine on Tuesday whether or not if a recount will happen. This is because the State AG filed a suit to stop said recount due to costs and nature of Stein's request (i.e. she can't win).

In WI, Dane (Dade?) county is apparently dragging their feet on the recount for whatever reason. Results will be certified on the 13th, one way or another. After 2 days, Clinton has gained 1, Stein has lost 17, and Trump has gained 440.

...
said that they were seeking a "reconciliation of paper records" -- a request that would go one step further than a simple recount, spurring, he said, an investigation into the integrity of the state's voting system.
..

What exactly is the difference between a recount and what they plan to do?
