-The cancellation of Factions made a lot of PlayStation studios upset causing internal turmoil. Between that and the GAAS direction, Sony blamed it on Connie Booth and fired her.
People beleaving in this bullshit are just dumb. Why would "a lot of Playstation studios" being upset about a game cancel on Naughty Dog?
Wasn't there a study released in the last few years saying "Fake news spreads 5x faster than the truth on social media"?
Gaming discourse leans overwhelmingly towards single player gamers who despise GAAS. That means they're susceptible to click on, and believe, fake narratives about GAAS being bad / a failure.
We seek out information we want to believe and people like Jason Schreier + David Jaffe know how to frame things that are technically true, but framed dishonestly.
I'm sure there are people in PlayStation who don't like the GAAS direction, but who, what percentage, and how does that compare to the people who don't like the single player, or VR, or Japanese, or quirky, or big IP direction we've seen PlayStation pursue over the years?
That's where journalism comes in and this industry is devoid of that.
