Devil's Third on IGN now Wii U Exclusive

In 2012 it looked like shit too, most people just ignored that because it was Itagaki.

Unless you're talking about graphics (and it still looks worse now) i don't know what you're talking about.
It looked like a fun action deathmatch blending shooter and melee mechanics.

The gameplay showed a dude going down a boring corridor shooting down an ironsight most of the time.

at least the 2012 trailer had some good feel with blade action. It felt somewhat similar to NG2...at least it somewhat resembled it.

The new gameplay feels nothing like that...the shooting was terrible and melee battle was also terrible.

While I'm disappointed, I'll say good on Nintendo for saving Itagaki/team's game after so long in dev hell.

Fun isnt the word id use, it looks like some 360 game shit out by some no name dev that youd see priced at a fiver. It looked utter shit, gameplay looked awful and if this wasnt from the man that brought you NG it wouldve been laughed off by ign.

I think the person playing it was awful more than anything. I could see having fun with the melee combat, personally.

Probably the awareness that your system of choice has nothing coming other than 1st and 2nd party stuff.

I'd prescript a good dose of 3rd party games but you can't find them on the Wii U

Eh, White Guys shooting White Guys IV, V and VI are overrated.

Isn't looking very good at the minute :\

Will keep my eye on it. But was hoping that the melee played a bigger part in the game. Multiplayer looked like a jankier TPS COD.

I guess we'll agree to disagree; it's honestly always looked dumb to me. Now instead of what would probably be horrible TPS, he made the gun portion a horrible FPS. Melee combat should be decent; I'm not one to assume it'll be god tier simply because it's Itagaki.

Visually though it has always looked like shit. Artistically and graphically. Can't wait for the rockstar interviews in which he says he made Wii U devkits smoke they're pushing it so hard! *eyerolls*

Looks bad visually, but the concept is still awesome. Hope the game turns out well!

Lol Hilarious, in a bad way. This game looked like dogfood last we saw it, and more time in the over only made it stink worse. Ninty buying up all the C-list IPs, still chasing that core demographic that ain't never coming back.

Wow, the news that the game is alive is great i guess but the game looks really really bad, i mean i can't believe this is Itagaki game he's been working for so long... some things must have gone seriously bad... it looks like an early 360/PS3 game with bad animation, textures and gameplay.

Sword play may be fun but the gunplay is beyond shitty, that super fast crosshair gave me a headache !

Ewww..... That was nothing like what I expected from the first trailer a few years back. It looks like a generic action game. I'll give it some time. But for now, it looks awful.

People were hyped about this game until it was announced on different hardware.

Hopefully the game can get the gameplay and graphics polish that Itagaki is well-known for!

How do you go from making one of the best looking/ playing action series of it's time (NG) to spark unlimited shit tier?

SO I hate to think that the reason why its on Wii U and not a Microsoft or Sony system is because they turned him down when he came for publishing, because of poor showing.

but I know one thing, I am surprised at the effort Nintendo is putting in and am seriously considering their console. (been awhile)

People were hype coming form Itagaki and seeing only a trailer.
Nothing similar to Ninja Gaiden here...

God, it really doesn't look good... What's disturbing me gameplay-wise is the ultra-fast transition from cover/third-person view to crosshairs aiming.

Other than that, violence definitely hasn't been toned down for Nintendo. ;)

Are you kidding? That's one of the best parts. Third person shooters are very clunky but this one looks like it is integrating it smoothly with run and gun style gameplay which I prefer.
