Love this feature in the game, but I usually finish a level because I enjoy playing it.

I definitely had to finish the whole level again to fill in the challenges I missed in levels 3 and 4.

I was having a great time with the game right up until the Saving Throw rune trial. Second time through, I almost managed to complete it with seconds left, only to find the gun was dry. Haven't even come close since.

This really should have been the multiplayer mode from the start.
Like, who in their right minds decided to ship a DOOM game without a deathmatch mode?!
Bethesda, apparently.
That's what happens when you have a different team handling the MP. And now that id are in charge of it it's probably too late since it appears to be all but dead.
I hope Deathmatch brings people back because it looks like it could be a lot of fun.
EDIT: I also have the theory that they believed people playing deathmatch in Doom would affect Quake Champions' sales somehow.

reinstalled this. stopped playing a while back because it would constantly crash. seems to be OK now. story wise i've just defeated that boss at the end of lazarus labs.

Man, It is HARD, but I am enjoying. I am now on level 10. playing on normal mode, I was tempter several times to go to easy mode after being screwed, but I will finish this fucking game on normal difficulty.
This is exactly what I was going to ask. Does it technically count as a new game just starting the first mission with a hard difficulty?
And I'm guessing the trophies that require you to get all power ups in one run require starting a new file?
1. Nope, if you wanna start a new game you have to pick a new savefile too.
2. You need to get everything in one save for the trophy, and you can replay every mission as many times as you need for it.
Damn. I still can get the collectibles trophies on the same file right?
But other than that I should pretty much start a new file for each difficulty? Even if I run through each level on ultra violence it won't unlock nightmare?

Is there a reward for completing Nightmare? (I don't want to know what it is if there is one).
I noticed there's no trophy so i thought there might be something else.

Wow, wow. I just realized during the last boss that I could use the BFG gun, I thought it was a one time thing when you first get it, all this time I couldve been using this powerful gun, terrible, finished up and loved it but feel like I missed out tiny bit not using BFG.

18 gigs? Think it was 4 or 5 when it came out but there has been lots of updates since.

I tried to play the demo of this and had fun... for five minutes. Then I started to sweat and feel nauseous. I play with my PC hooked into my TV so I'm guessing the FoV wasn't low enough.
Unfortunately, the FoV slider in Settings doesn't go below 90 - still too high.
Can anyone confirm if the console games will work to lower the FoV to something like 70? I've seen many threads online of people using the console commands to raise the FoV, but not lower it. It didn't work in the demo, but I can't tell if this was due to console commands being disabled for the demo version or not.

Deathmatch and Private Matches are coming this week. Arcade Mode is coming in a month or so.
There are also two other types of Deathmatch modes that will be released later. No details on those.

Skip to the 33-minute mark of the stream if you want to see it for yourself, but it basically allows you to play each Campaign level without any of the cut-scenes and your goal is to achieve a high score by doing things like:
- Kill enemies as fast as possible without taking damage to increase your multiplier
- Complete the level as fast as possible
- Find and destroy multiplier bombs in the level
- Find extra life Doomguy items in the environment
- Use glory kills
And of course there's a lot of new visuals and sounds going off constantly to give you that "casino experience".

Just watched the video, looks like fun! It made me think I should better complete the game with all runes before trying this, though, as this mode kind of spoils that feeling of having every rune unlocked for you out of the gate.

I downloaded the Steam demo in order to take some screenshots. What I have in mind requires some console commands, but I don't seem able to enable the console. Is this not possible in the demo?

Deathmatch is fun as hell. Loadouts are whatever, but it's pure DOOM fun. Played about two and a half hours of it today and had a blast. A crying shame it's probably too late to save the MP though.
The sheer idiocy of releasing a DOOM game without deathmatch should be enough to get the dumbass producer who made the call a trip out the door with the locks turned.

This game feels so good on a gamepad. I'm in the early stages of the game, but they really nailed gamepad controls.
I saw many posts saying that it should be played on mouse and keyboard only, but I have to disagree after trying it.
It's one of the best feeling FPSes on a controller.
Speed and acceleration are so much better than most other games.

I was playing on my cousins ps4 and he has no internet (just moved) on ultraviolence and man this game is so great, but playing I unpatched the screen tearing is kind of ridiculous and also noticed some frame drops as well.
Also some of the check points are too far apart it makes you require too much back tracking IMO.

How is the length of each of the last three missions? Are we talking shorter or longer than what came before it, or pretty much the same?
