Dayum.....
On that note, seeing this do anyone really think Nintendo wont charge for online?
Hitting their marketing out of the park, sure. Shame almost everything else has gone downhill since they released the PS4.

When Sony's backs were against the wall with the PS3 they released killer title after killer title after killer title. Their first party lineup in the latter years of the PS3 were godly. They were creative. They came up with the greatest subscription service ever in PS Plus and provided ridiculous value.
Then they released a successful system, the quality of their first party software went to absolute shit, and their awesome subscription service became another shitty cashgrab after locking online play behind it. It's also worth noting that the reason PS3 was so bad at the start was purely because of the success of the PS2.
Sony had to get humbled to get good again. The same looks like it needs to happen again, but that sadly won't be happening for a long time.

can't you also do that shit on the xbone?
I blame Microsoft. I blame Sony. And I blame NeoGAF for not ripping Sony a new one when they announced it.
And yet Sony profits were only twice as big:
Isn't that closer to 3 times as big?
Brutal.Looks like customers are already doing that.
It's actually over 5 times more when you use FX accounted numbers from both
Sony 88.7 billion yen
Nintendo 16.5 billion yen
We have focused on expanding the digital business, both to keep up with changes in the industry and as a new business opportunity. This shows that we have made steady progress in the digital sphere.
This slide shows the download sales shown by region for the last two fiscal years.
Sales for the fiscal year ended March 2016 have expanded in all regions compared to the prior year. We have seen a particular jump in sales in the Americas, represented by the yellow bar.
PSN won't elevate to XBL levels of greatness until they stuff ads into the primary-focus areas of the OS.better than xbl last gen?
The ability to SHARE captured media could always be locked behind PS+ as well!Yes. The ability to share and upload videos this easily alone elevates it for me.
The store still sucks in the sense that it is hard to find content that you are looking for without doing a search everytime but otherwise yeah psn has been freaking awesome.

Hyperbole. Hyperbole everywhere.
Such as? Since you're saying "almost everything" then I expect a long list and not just "PS+ is shit now".
edit:
Aside from PS+ not being what it used to be, that's a lot of hyperbole there. I'm out.
I highly doubt they will ever charge for online, considering the amount of online games Nintendo makes is Smash and Mario Kart. I'll include Splatoon as well since we're shoe in for a sequel for NX.About Nintendo not charging for online...
Sony saw the money left on the table thats why they charged on PS4. With an asterisk....because F2P doesnt need Plus.
Nintendo could do something similar as not charging for all online play but some.
If Nintendo does charge I have to believe they wont charge for F2P too. Especially with them dipping into mobile.
Sony couldnt know that the PS4 would be the success that it turned out to be though, so its not like they could start slacking, they must have continued to push from the PS3-era to make sure that they didnt get in that position again instead. When Sony's backs were against the wall with the PS3 they released killer title after killer title after killer title. Leave Nintendo alone!
Looks like customers are already doing that.

Most impressive and just a sign of where gaming is headed. Seriously their Online network made more money. I'm sure most of those are Plus subscriptions, but with people adopting digital more and more it makes sense.
It's also lets me know going forward Sony and MS will do all they can to keep you in this ecosystem.
, I want Nintendo to be like that, because I like them.
Maybe someone can help me.....
I can't see anything in the OP that confirms that PSN made more money than Nintendo...I can see more sales, but I think the profit figure is for all of the video game side of Sony, not just PSN.
I'm not saying that it didn't make more, but I don't think the figure it did make is in the OP.
Am I missing something?
So Zhuge is good enough for Eurogamer, who is good enough for GAF, but Zhuge isn't good enough for GAF? I'm confused.
Looks like customers are already doing that.

Re-read the first 2 sentences in the quote. One says PSN, he other says the whole of Nintendo
Eurogamer didnt get its numbers from Zhuge, but from open financial reports.
EG just hat tipped Zhuge since he was the first to point it out
....you can't be the source for seeing something in a financial report. Anyone can do it. I could go do it right now. You could go do it. Anyone can.
Looks like customers are already doing that.
Which is the exact same place Zhuge got his, and the article wouldn't exist if he hadn't pointed out the relationship. My point is that the guy's info contributes a lot to this site and yet he's being treated like a pariah, when other outlets clearly feel differently.
I did read the quote. The first two sentences talk about sales, not profit. The profit mentioned for 'Playstation' in the third sentence is for the whole video game unit, not just PSN.Re-read the first 2 sentences in the quote. One says PSN, he other says the whole of Nintendo
There was a more expansive post posted in the other thread:

So I guess I'm after the profit figure for just PSN, as that is the figure which confirms the title of the OP.
better than xbl last gen?
Ahh ok. I updated the OP with Donnie's breakdown
The lock commeth.

This just in!
Sony brags about charging for something Nintendo doesn't.
