I am curious how hard they go on the space shit. What is the budget?
the budget is likely low, so expect a couple of space shots mixed in with cheap looking sets

thiccA brave member should hit them with this response over there.

"Where To Watch the Cowboy Bebop anime: Available on Funimation (14-day free trial) and Hulu’s streaming library (free trial)"

I am totally good with the Jet casting and yet Spike feels horribly miscast. Like they just threw a dart at the nearest Asian actor with a recognizable name.I mean jet was basically black anyway
If the space action will be cheap, which it probably will be, then they better give it their all in the fight choreography. I don‘t wanna see choppy Snake Eyes bullshit.
How will this even work? The main actor is a 50-year old inexperienced actor on roles demanding extreme physicality.
Even Jackie or Donnie had issues at 50, its probably better you lower your expectations.
A definite improvement, although color grading is the least of their worries imo.Filmized:
Have you seen Netflix's "Iron Fist"? Somehow I don't think fight choreography is even listed on their audition sheets. How will this even work?
While Spike looked and behaved like a slacker, he was an amazing fighter. That was his thing that people underestimated how good he was.
Edge of Tomorrow aka live.die.repeat.The only good anime/manga live-action adaptation we've had is Alita. The Guyver movies were b movie fun. Other than that?
It worked so well for Berserk, right? They should have done a high budget CG version.
I don't think that was high budget. At least not by western standards. It worked so well for Berserk, right?

He looked really aged in Searching. They’d be using a lot of make up to make him look Spike’s age.TIL that John Cho is 49 years old. I probably should have known that, but in my head he was like late 30's AT MOST.
Yeah but they didn’t try to look like manga.Edge of Tomorrow aka live.die.repeat.
What's the music situation for this Netflix adaption?
Who's composing the soundtrack?

In all seriousness, if looks campy and certainly... different. It seems like they went for something that looks more like a self-aware comic book adaptation than necessarily something that resembles the cool element of Bebop. Colors and photography are definitely going for that, at least from the little we can see.
One thing's for sure: they love the reference material and there are many small details present even in the opening which show that. In fact, it almost seems like it was made for people that have already seen the show, honestly. I loved the fact Japanese and English have been entirely switched around, both in the credits and the scenes and even logo itself. This shows care.
I think it will be different and eccentric, and perhaps visually striking (perhaps in a kinda uncanny valley way), but I'm not sure whether I'll be good. I will wait and see.
