What exactly happened with Konami last year? I saw the conference but it was boring as shit and everyone on the internet keeps talking about it for some reason.

I have 2 weeks holiday, right around E3. I'm in Australia, so all the big announcements will happen in the super early hours for me, but that's what holidays are for, right? Right?

Sony are going to have to bring out the guns, to make people forget about the personal info leak.

Trying to justify not waking up at 2AM for these, since I said last year that I'd wait til the morning when I don't have to worry about getting a stable livestream. However, I've got a faster connection now, and the streams were much better last year, so insanity might prevail. Now that everybody's got motion control out of their system, I'm hoping to see some decent game reveals. Then there's that whole new hardware thing at the Nintendo conference.

I don't think I can bring myself to watch Joel McHale suffer through another Ubisoft conference though.

Some of the best live E3 coverage last year. Almost everyone that presented was insane, pathetic, high, or all of the above.

It was really surreal thinking that anyone that it was a good idea to do what they did. I really hope another off-the-wall Konami conference will happen and it closes E3 for major press conferences.

Here are some of the highlights. My favorite part was the Luchador slapfight.

Watching it live was the best. I was in the original thread riffing it with the rest of GAF and just when you thought the next presentation couldn't be worse they somehow topped it. Race to the Bottom, Loli porn, One mirrion troops, you will be sucked, head trick, this is real dancing, very very excite, we gonna market the shit out of it, error, shoot the core!, etc. I love making obscure references about it from time to time to this day.

The best part about these two was they had the only respectable presenter, and he was stuck with the absolute worst material

I did check the following, but it's late and stuff. If someone can confirm that these are correct then it might be worth dropping it in the OP.

Monday 6th
Microsoft - 17:00
EA - 20:30
Ubisoft - 22:30

Tuesday 7th
Sony - 01:00
Nintendo - 17:00

I remember when he was talking I thought they were going to show an honest to goodness SHUMP and BAM loli all over the screen. I burst into tears I was laughing so hard.

I am obviously going to check the Sony conference, but I am also hyped for the Nintendo one this type...pity they wont show an HD Zelda game, could look incredible...

Can't wait to see some NGP games.

Overall, Versus is by far my most anticipated game, so hope that shows up in some shape or form. Witcher 2 will give me all that I should need on the rpg front until then

Beautiful, I don't have school on Tuesdays so I'm good for the Nintendo conference. It seems the only one I will miss is the MS one actually, too bad Directv dumped G4, I guess I'll have to DL it.

It was boring. It was only funny when summed up in a five minute youtube video. iirc the thing was like an hour and a half long.

Konami's conference is the only one that matters. I hope they manage to reach new lows this year. Naoki VERY VERY EXCERCISE Maeda and Tak EXTREEEEEEEEEME Fuji better make an appearance.

Konami's conference stage looked like the red room from Twin Peaks. I thought that's what they were going for with all the bizarre antics.

And yes, there's usually a E3 Gaf channel. Pretty fun too.

I really wish I still had the channel for this as well. Last year I watched the Nintendo stream on GameSpot I think while having it on G4TV at the same time.

I know I'll be taking the 7th off.

So many awesome memories of the Konami conference. I don't think it will ever be topped. It was just THAT good. I couldn't catch it live, but I caught the re-runs with a lot of people afterwards in that thread. SO GOOD.

Edit:

The guy with the orange shirt always cracked me up because of his serious facial expression. It was like he didn't give a fuck and was just up there chillin'. Hahahahahaha.

True story: I've gone to E3 the last ~9 years, and the press conferences are my favorite part of the entire week.

That and catching up with buds.

It's actually a really terrible environment for getting work done.

I got myself an E3 pass so I'll be there for the main thing, I'd love to figure out how to get into the conferences.

The Konami conference last year was the greatest conference I've ever seen at E3. Granted, I've only seen about 6 conferences, but that's not the point. The point is that it was the greatest of all time.

I won't be able to catch these live most likely. I'm going to be very busy around that time.

Does anyone record these conferences? I would love it if they do as I wouldn't mind being able to watch them later. It'll give me the liberty to skip anything boring too.
