Tell me what ya think
Jay Rock sounds pretty damn West Coast to me.siddx said:Not the west coast I want. None of those artists make West Coast Hip Hop. They all have their strengths and some make good music, but none of it sounds like that west coast sound that is so badly missed.
I see what you did there...Kimosabae said:Ab Soul is way too backpacky.
Mellowhype, Domo Genesis, Frank Ocean, and the group as a whole have to put out new releases before anyone can even being to think they're approaching the ceiling of popularity.ReconYoda said:Black Hippy won't be that big( not hating, i like them, but it is what it is.), odd future is probably going to hit their ceiling, in terms of popularity, pretty soon. I see Frank being the only real mainstream guy from them. Lil B? Lol no.

Tyler has gained quite a bit of mainstream popularity when he(and all of Odd Future) were just feeding off of internet hype. I don't see a reason why Mellowhype or a full OFWGKTA release couldn't get them mainstream recognition.ReconYoda said:I think your confusing internet hype with mainstream popularity.

DOOM can't even keep up with his own projects.IrishNinja said:it'd be cool to see him crossover with shit like DOOM, even if it won't happen.
This is the truth. I went a bit insane with the Wu listening.illadelph said:I don't know about anyone else but Wu Monday turned into Wu Week for me, that's all I've been listening to - Ironman, Supreme Clientele, 36 Chambers, Tical, Apollo Kids, Blackout 2.....
Sounds like classic Cole, not his new shit. Makes me feel better about Cole World.cacophony said:
This is a great idea...for his old fans. This won't bring him any new/mainstream fans to the table unfortunately.cacophony said:J Cole - Any Given Sunday Vol. 1

that's where i found this collection of mos def b-sides id been looking for (we are hip-hop - you - me - everybody). mostly just ultra magnetics and guest spots, though. i think they were playing phrenology when i came in, cool place.
